I am a certified eating disorder specialist with over 10 years of experience working with individuals who struggle with their relationship with food, body image, and self. College can often be a time that increases these struggles with the demands of academics, sports performance for athletes, more independence and social pressures. My work is to help you create a better relationship with your body and food that can help lead to a more satisfaction in life. I also work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, and the life transitions. Together we will create coping strategies to navigate through the mess and sometimes just to hold space to sit in the messiness that can be life. My work is collaborative. I am not here to tell you what to do but instead meet you where you are at and guide you to your goals that you want to meet in therapy. I bring warmth, compassion and of course some humor into our work together.
College can feel like a rollercoaster, exciting one moment and overwhelming the next. Many of the students I work with are juggling the pressures of academics, relationships, and figuring out their future. You might be feeling stressed, stuck, or like you're falling behind, but you're not alone. I provide a safe, supportive space to help you sort through these challenges, build confidence, and find balance. Together, we'll work on making college and life feel a little less heavy and a lot more manageable.
Are you ready to take your life back? Has it felt out of control with recent changes or continued stressors/triggers that you just can't figure out how to manage? Is this impacting your job, your ability to complete schoolwork, your relationships, or perhaps other aspects of your life that are important to you? Let's work on this together. Reaching out for help may feel scary but I can help you stand in your power.
I specialize in working with women and teens who have endured trauma. Trauma can cause you to feel stuck, hinder your relationships, and your ability to function in daily life activities. I want to help you change that. I will help you sort out the pieces, find healing, and find yourself again. I can also provide a faith based perspective to therapy if you desire that. Being a therapist and getting to hold space for people in their most broken moments is one of the greatest honors of my life. Every person’s story is one-of-a-kind, and that means your care should be too! When we team up, think of us as partners on this adventure together. I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable enough to share what's on your mind. I'll be here to listen, to nudge you out of your comfort zone when needed, and to cheer you on every step of the way. We’ll kick things off with an introductory session, where you get to tell your story and share what you’re hoping to achieve in therapy. Don’t worry – we’ll figure it out together! My goal is to create a cozy, welcoming space where you feel safe enough to open up, be vulnerable, and still feel grounded. After that, we'll roll up our sleeves and dive into making your goals a reality, one session at a time.
Hi there! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in San Diego, CA, and have been working as a social worker for a little over five years. I've worked with all ages, from elementary school students to adults, but I particularly enjoy working with college students and young professionals who are juggling life transitions, family and relationships, work/school, and the constantly changing world around us. I previously spent several years working at an university serving students from historically marginalized communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and first-generation students. I integrate aspects of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) into my work with clients. I tailor these techniques and skills to the individual needs and wishes of each client, since some approaches work better for some than others. I aim to create a warm, trauma-informed environment for each client where they can feel authentically themselves, without judgment. All feelings are welcome in session with me. I enjoy being able to collaborate with clients on working towards the goals they want to achieve, and building on the strengths and supports they have already. I offer free 15-minute consultations to see if we'd be a good fit - feel free to email me to schedule or if you have any additional questions!
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in California, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, and Nevada, serving students, young adults, and adults across these states. I work best with college students and young adults who want support managing the unique stresses of academic life, relationships, and the transition into adulthood. My ideal students are ready to understand themselves better, develop healthy coping strategies, and create lasting changes, rather than rely on quick fixes. Many students I work with experience: Anxiety, depression, or stress that affects school, work, or social life ADHD, trauma, or mood challenges that make daily routines or academics difficult Feeling overwhelmed by expectations and wanting practical tools to manage responsibilities A desire for collaborative, personalized care that fits their lifestyle and goals I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where students can explore their mental health, learn effective strategies, and work toward long-term well-being. My approach combines therapy, lifestyle guidance, and medications when necessary, always focusing on what works best for each individual.
From a young age, I've always loved and been curious about people. I've always felt connected to and interested in others and their experiences. It is a calling for me. After having both positive and negative experiences with therapists in high school, I was confident that this is what I wanted to do - what I was meant to do! I will actively listen to what they're sharing and ask clarifying questions as needed. I will be fully present with them in session, with the intention of understanding as much as possible their emotional experience, inner thoughts, etc. I may summarize and/or reflect back what I heard and ask if it feels accurate for them or if there are things I missed, misunderstood, etc. And lastly, I would simply ask them, "what makes you feel heard and understood? Is there anything that makes you feel misunderstood? How might I be able to tell if you're feeling misunderstood (outside of being told as much)? I see the therapy as a collaborative process, one where I walk alongside the client, not in front or above them. I may not have all the answers, but I am committed to helping in any way that I can. Building trust and a strong therapeutic alliance takes time, but I am patient. I will not rush the process or force you to share something you're not comfortable sharing (now or ever). Trust is build over time and the process will look different for each person, so it is important to consider individual differences, past experiences, interests, preferences, etc. when building the foundational trust and rapport. Lastly, it is imperative to me that I do what I say I will do, keep any promises I make, and if I make a mistake, I will apologize and do whatever I can to rectify it and facilitate repair.
