Fundamentally, my aim is to support my clients in contacting their inner self-knowing, and "make friends" with all of the various parts of themselves in the warmth and security of this inner space. To achieve this, I practice person-centered therapy, with a strong emphasis on somatic awareness. When working with clients, I am listening for "what wants to be heard" that day. In my view, I am a supportive and curious observer, and my job is to reflect back to my client what I am seeing. My style tends to be more direct, and I regularly encourage my clients to take ownership over their treatment and to trust themselves. In a first session with me, we explore where you've been, where you are, and where you would like to go. Often, I invite people to tell me their story and then describe their current situation. We will work together to assess what feels like the most supportive areas of focus, and will create some goals which guide our future sessions. During this process, however, you can still expect curiousity, empowerment, and validation. What's most important in any session is establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

We are a small private practice located in Fort Collins, CO who treat individuals struggling with depression and/or anxiety. These conditions include a variety of symptoms including feelings of sadness, loss of motivation, low energy, isolation, feeling worthless, disruption to appetite or sleep, racing thoughts, over-thinking, worry, nervousness, and panic attacks. Due to these symptoms, the ability to function normally is impacted, and many of our clients are having difficulty in school and in their relationships. We use an evidence- based treatment called Cognitive Behavior Therapy to address symptoms and help our clients feel better. We work well with individuals who are motivated to make changes and implement the tactics they learn in between sessions. Please visit our website for more information: evolvecounselingnoco.com

I work best with clients who may appear to have it together on the outside while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted. Many are navigating trauma, OCD, mood changes, identity exploration, or relationship stress. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients and those looking for an authentic, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to better understand themselves and heal.

I’m Rachel, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My goal is to create a safe and empowering space for my clients because our teenage and young adult years can be stressful and overwhelming to navigate with all of the different life changes that continue to happen. As we continue to grow as individuals, we are constantly trying to identify and discover who we are and who we want to be. This no longer has to be a process that you work at alone. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life-transitions, trauma, and relationships. I help teenagers, young adults, and adults learn to manage and understand difficult emotions, establish boundaries, and feel confident in their life goals. We will work as a team to learn new and healthy habits, as well as ways to create a life worth living. You deserve to enjoy your life! It can be difficult to take the next step, but when you are ready, please reach out via phone or email, and I would be happy to schedule a consult.

I'm an LGBTQIA+, anxiety, and trauma therapist, working with students across Colorado. Do you feel weighed down by anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, or the lasting impact of religious harm? Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+ adults or survivors of religious trauma who carry exhaustion, dread, and fear from living in systems that questioned, silenced, or shamed who they are. Clients also come to me with anxiety, which often shows up as hypervigilance, burnout, or the ache of feeling like you're not enough. You may long for healing and the freedom to be fully yourself. You are not alone, healing is possible, and your story matters. I provide affirming, trauma-informed therapy rooted in narrative, somatic, and liberation-focused practices. Together we’ll untangle harmful messages that have shaped you, teach your body to feel safe, calm your nervous system, and re-author the stories holding you back. You'll reclaim your identity while moving toward a more authentic and empowered life. As a queer-affirming, feminist, and anti-oppressive therapist, I offer care that is tender, respectful, and at the right pace for you. Whether you’re healing from trauma, recovering from a harmful spiritual background, or seeking growth beyond anxiety or hard life transitions, I'll walk with you in it. Click on my website, email me, or call/text (719)-626-1427 to learn more.

I am an integrative, trauma-focused, queer therapist dedicated to helping people understand themselves better. I particularly enjoy working with clients who want to be in more authentic, connected relationships with partners and family members, want to better understand how trauma has impacted their life and shed patterns that are no longer useful, or want to parent differently than they were parented. My areas of specialized training include interpersonal trauma and PTSD (sexual assault, childhood abuse, domestic violence), attachment and relationships, perinatal mental health, and infant/early childhood mental health. My approach is informed by an anti-oppressive, feminist, and identity-affirming lens. I hold a perspective that our systems and culture impact our sense of self and how we show up in the world. You know yourself best, and I am here to create a nonjudgmental space for you to bring your full self to learn and grow in the ways that are most important to you. I balance processing to better understand a root cause and change patterns with learning new skills. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, welcoming feedback and showing up with warmth and authenticity, integrating humor and gentle challenging where appropriate. Reach out for a free consultation to see if working together feels like the right fit!

As a deeply empathetic clinician, I am honored to guide you through your mental health journey. My specialties include helping men, women, and teens navigate life changes, negative self-image, and relationships. I embrace a direct and empowering style, as I believe in the power of the therapeutic alliance, which helps me be your biggest supporter. I look forward to being that source of support for you, collaborating and growing in our work together. In our time together, you can expect a warm and safe environment tailored to your unique goals, as I’m passionate about the belief that healing happens when we feel secure enough to understand ourselves with curiosity rather than criticism. That’s why my approach is always warm, empowering, and grounded in the belief that you know yourself best. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) are two treatments we may explore to help you better understand your behaviors and feelings. My own work in therapy showed me firsthand the value in working with an empathetic therapist during times of emotional upheaval, and how empowering it can be to lean more deeply into who we are as individuals. This knowledge strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate care to each of my patients, allowing me to bring a unique perspective to every session thanks, in great part, to the breadth of my life experiences. When I’m not seeing patients, I love being outdoors with my family, learning and exploring new things (including trying new restaurants!), and watching classic movies from the 80s and 90s. I’m also an avid reader, specifically anything Agatha Christie.

I work best with people who are curious about understanding themselves and the experiences that have shaped them. Many of the students and clients I support are navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, identity, career questions, major life decisions, or feeling unsure about their next steps. In addition to being a counselor, I am a psychology and career development educator. I regularly work with college students exploring their strengths, values, goals, and the question many of us face during transitions: “Who am I, and where do I want to go from here?” My approach is collaborative and human. Together, we explore your story with curiosity rather than criticism, better understand patterns, reconnect with your strengths and values, and build practical tools to help you move forward with more intention.

Change is not linear. I have come to understand the numerous challenges in life that can make you feel as if you have gone nowhere. The anxiety that sets in is alarming and the depression that may later consume you feels debilitating. However, I have also come to understand the impact that we have on our own suffering: how we often jump to "I can't" instead of "I can try." We have all found ourselves deep in self-doubt, feeling stuck in the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Are you looking for a chance to see how change and success can become more linear overtime? My approach can help you get there. My early experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has allowed me to mold the foundations of DBT with other empirically supported treatments (MI, CBT) to fit the needs of my clients. A combination of skill use, gentle challenging of core beliefs and thought distortions, as well as strengths recognition has proven effective with a variety of clients. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to provide a supportive environment that serves as a safe space for you to challenge yourself. I assist my clients in developing a natural reaction of "radical acceptance" in an effort to decrease overall suffering. Together, we can create a mindset that helps you to see your own strengths in any given situation.

Looking for a therapist can feel overwhelming and uncertain, especially when trauma, identity, or religious experiences have made it hard to feel safe in your own life. I support adults navigating trauma, anxiety, identity, and suicidal ideation, with a focus on LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse clients. I provide collaborative, trauma-informed care that builds coping skills, increases insight, and supports lasting change. I support clients in building strong coping skills, stability, and a sense of safety before moving into deeper trauma work. Using CAMS, DBT, IFS, trauma-informed and trauma-focused approaches, I offer collaborative, affirming care for LGBTQIA+ clients navigating trauma, identity, and suicidal thoughts. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’ve been carrying a lot on your own. You don’t have to do it alone. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start, I welcome you to reach out when you’re ready.
