Welcome! My name is Christie Morgan and I am a relational trauma therapist in Boulder, CO. I am passionate about helping couples and individuals experience personal and relational healing. Has your life been impacted by trauma and you feel like there is no one who can understand you? You may feel as if you are in survival mode and no longer know who the true you is. Or perhaps you feel alone in your relationship and wonder if you can ever restore the connection you once had. However you arrived here, you are welcome here. My goal is to create a safe space for you to heal as you experience feeling seen and known. I often begin with offering clients tools for navigating the difficult waters they are facing. Before entering into the deep healing work, I make sure that you feel stable and equipped to navigate the healing process. Together, we will rework the negative and shaming messages that hold you down and isolate you, so that you can love yourself amidst your imperfections and live life more fully. I empower my clients to discover wholeness through evidence-based modalities such as IFS (Internal Family Systems), Attachment theory, EFT (Emotion-Focused Therapy), and mind-body connection through a trauma informed lens. I believe that access to mental health should be a human right. We all deserve someone who can listen to us and help us navigate the difficult seasons of our lives. My goal is to be a safe person in my clients' lives. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and am passionate about creating safe spaces of belonging for clients in this community. A core part of my work as a therapist, who is passionate about social justice, is creating a kinder, safer, and more just world. This begins with people feeling safe and at home with themselves. My desire is that in fostering a safe space for clients to heal their trauma, they will become catalysts for healing as they, too, foster safe spaces within their families and communities. I am currently offering online and nature-based therapy sessions.

Finding a space where you can show up fully, exactly as you are, is where real change begins. My work centers on trauma-informed and culturally responsive counseling, with a focus on emotional regulation and the connection between mind and body. Whether you're navigating identity, processing past experiences, or moving through a significant life transition, this is a space built for your healing. Many of the people I work with are adolescents and adults who carry the weight of trauma, systemic stressors, and the ongoing work of understanding themselves. Those from marginalized and BIPOC communities are especially welcome here, where your experiences will be met with the validation, safety, and cultural awareness they deserve. Beginning therapy takes courage, and honoring that courage is something I take seriously. Together, we'll build insight, develop tools for lasting change and empowerment, and move forward in a way that feels authentic to who you are. Therapy, at its best, is a collaboration. My approach is relational and integrative, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and somatic-based practices that attend to both the emotional and physical dimensions of your experience. What that looks like in practice is a space that is nonjudgmental, responsive to your pace, and shaped around your unique story. These techniques help create a sense of safety as you explore your experiences with safety and validation while guiding how we engage with what's been most difficult. The goal isn't just symptom relief; it's a deeper sense of self-trust and the kind of healing that stays with you. No matter where you are when you walk in, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative partner who meets you there. A deep curiosity about how our experiences shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us is what first drew me to this work. Through training and time spent with a diverse range of patients, that curiosity evolved into a genuine commitment to care that is both trauma-informed and culturally responsive. What guides me in every session is a belief that each person's story deserves to be honored in its full complexity. Bringing a warm, attuned, and thoughtful presence to the room is how I create space for you to feel seen, supported, and understood. Outside of the therapy room, I find joy in hiking, walking my dog Jax, reality TV, staying chronically online, and losing myself in a good book across any genre. These moments of rest and play are how I stay grounded, and that same sense of presence and balance is something I bring into my work with you.
Do your emotions feel over-sized and out of control? Do you feel isolated or misunderstood? Does it feel like part of you is holding back? Whether you're struggling with stress, exploring your identity, or navigating a difficult life transition, you deserve a therapy space that feels safe, inclusive and affirming. I utilize a trauma-informed, evidence based, and holistic approach to therapy. I am passionate about supporting clients with the life-long process of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment. When working with me you can expect to acquire skills and gain new insight to become the most authentic version of yourself. I provide counseling to support individuals for identity formation, gender and sexuality exploration, body-acceptance, coming out, life transitions, healing relational wounds, family dynamics, religious trauma and spirituality, recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, internalized oppression, and all issues related to sports and performance. I live in Denver, CO with my wife and dog. As a former professional athlete and experienced performance consultant, I have worked extensively with collegiate and professional athletes. Feeling overwhelmed, behind, anxious, unsure, or like you’re constantly juggling too much? College can bring intense pressure to perform, stay productive, and have a plan—often while managing relationships, family expectations, finances, and questions about who you’re becoming. Even when things are going well academically or socially, many students carry a quiet sense of stress, self-doubt, or disconnection that’s hard to put into words. College is often referred to as the “best years of your life,” yet it’s also a time of major transition and identity formation. You may be making important decisions about your future while still figuring out what you value, what you want, and how to trust yourself. It’s common to feel stuck, anxious, or alone during this period—especially when it seems like everyone else is more confident or has things figured out. How We’ll Work Together I pay close attention to the tension many young adults feel between the part of them seeking stability and the part longing for meaning. It’s common to feel torn between wanting security—a solid job, steady relationships, a clear plan—and wanting a life that feels authentic, purposeful, and alive. In our work, we’ll explore this inner conflict with curiosity rather than judgment and find a way forward that integrates both of these core desires. Many young adults also carry a quiet sense of “I should be further along by now,” shaped by family expectations, social comparison, and cultural pressure. Together, we’ll slow down these narratives and build a relationship to yourself that’s based on honesty, compassion, and your actual needs—not someone else’s timeline. We’ll explore patterns in your relationships, clarify your values, likes, and dislikes, and build skills that help you move through the world with more confidence and ease. Therapy becomes a place to practice new ways of relating: setting boundaries, being more authentic, understanding your emotional patterns, and building healthier relationships. We’ll look at where your values, instincts, and longings are trying to guide you, and how to make choices that align with who you’re becoming.
My practice is dedicated to working with people who are seeking emotional emancipation. They desire to claim or reclaim their lives after traumatic experiences or relational struggles that have left them feeling down, anxious, lonely, confused or scared and often don't really know how to begin to be different in the midst of all of these feelings. Working with me means exploring together the experiences that make you who you are by looking both at what your life is like today and how your past is informing that life. From this vantage, you can learn to make choices for yourself, freeing the yourself to engage in a life of your own making. I offer a free consultation and my fee is $300.
I see myself as a fellow traveler with my clients. The anti-oppressive and feminist framework I utilize in therapy is also deeply personal. My lived experience as a neurospicy woman, questioning hetero/mononormativity in relationships, embracing my queerness, tending to my grief and trauma, and in recovery from substance use is also present as part of my professional self. I cherish the privilege to be here with you! I dedicate my work to helping clients discover new strategies to more gently carry their lived experiences. Most especially: managing life transitions and existential crises; exploring neurodivergence; navigating chronic illness; relational ruptures; seeking answers about identity and belonging in queer spaces; grief; self-image challenges; exiting high-control relationships; transitioning out of endurance athletics; sensory sensitivities; climate grief/anxiety. Many clients receive me as a consistent, supportive presence who allows for space for what is, and offers mindful posing of questions that generate reflections and expand your perspective. My therapy "room" is also an open lab for exploring what comes up in the here-and-now, which opens you up for experiencing relational repair and growth. I hope our therapeutic relationship helps you to feel more authentic, empowered, and connected to your own essence.
