Therapists for college students near 20052
At Just Mind Psychiatry LLC, we understand that college life can bring unique challenges as students navigate academic demands, social relationships, work, and personal responsibilities. These transitions often contribute to feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, or difficulty adjusting to change. We work with students who are seeking support to improve their mental health, manage stress effectively, and build coping skills that foster resilience and confidence. Many of the clients we serve share the desire to feel more balanced, focused, and empowered as they pursue their educational and personal goals. Our approach is professional, compassionate, and tailored to each individual’s needs. We provide a safe and supportive environment where students can address concerns openly and develop strategies that enhance both academic performance and overall well-being. At Just Mind Psychiatry LLC, our goal is to support students not only in overcoming challenges but also in achieving lasting growth and success.
I have a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and prior to working in private practice, I worked almost exclusively in university counseling centers for several years. The centerpiece of my work is building a therapeutic relationship in which you can explore and better understand yourself without fear of judgment, essentially "rewiring" your brain so that confidence and self-acceptance come to feel more like second nature to you. In the meantime, we can also build skills to better cope with anxiety, depression, and other symptoms. At Barth Therapy, we believe that taking the step to connect with a therapist is an act of profound courage, strength, and commitment. We deeply value and respect the time our clients invest in their journey toward healing, and it is our unwavering mission to ensure that every moment spent with us is purposeful and transformative. Our dedication to tailoring treatment to your unique needs and ensuring that you are heard and understood is at the core of our vision for therapy. Grounded in empathy and cultural competence, our passion for therapy is the driving force behind our practice. In combination with our extensive education and training, it keeps us rooted in the latest, evidence-based practices, ensuring that we offer nothing less than the best possible services to our clients. At Barth Therapy, we employ a rich tapestry of therapy techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness practice, narrative-centered approaches, assertiveness training, somatic work, and harm reduction. However, our commitment goes beyond techniques; it extends to treating the whole person, addressing not just symptoms but the underlying factors that influence well-being. Our vision is to empower individuals, irrespective of their background, identity, or the challenges they face, to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
We are born into mystery and we are on a spiritual quest to know ourselves more fully, to discover our life's purpose and to find our personal power. My therapeutic approach involves accompanying my clients on a journey of self-discovery and self-mastery. For, as Carlos Castaneda wrote, "We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong...the amount of work is the same." Ultimately, my goal is to be a mirror that reflects back to you your own innate goodness, strength and wisdom. We repeat what we don't repair. So, my job is to be a witness to your process of awakening the healer that's already present within you. My therapeutic approach draws from psychodynamic theory, client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I also use meditation, aromatherapy and creative visualization as therapeutic tools. My areas of expertise are treating depression, anxiety, grief and loss and trauma (PTSD). In addition to adult clients, I also see adolescents and families in my practice. I believe that therapy is a sacred relationship and a meeting of two souls. In short, it is an invitation to explore and to discover the depths of our own being through the mirror of relationship. If my therapeutic approach sounds like a good fit for you, then please contact me by phone or email to schedule an appointment. Are you ready?

I work with individuals navigating trauma, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and major life transitions through a gender-affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive lens. I am especially mindful of how trauma can impact safety, trust, and the nervous system, and I work at a pace that feels supportive and grounding, whether clients are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or processing trauma related to identity, relationships, or systemic stress. With experience in queer and gender-affirming care, I take a creative, individualized approach to therapy that honors each client’s lived experience. I especially enjoy supporting LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients, college students, and those exploring identity and belonging. I offer a warm, collaborative space grounded in curiosity and compassion, helping clients build self-trust and resilience at their own pace. It can take a lot of courage to consider reaching out for support, especially if past experiences made it feel unsafe or unhelpful. Therapy does not have to be rushed or forced. If you’re curious about exploring things at a pace that feels respectful and grounding, I welcome you to take that next step when you’re ready.
Who would have known life could be so stressful and complicated- well we do! We understand that being studying is important but that there is a equal need to be healthy. Our practice provides clinical services while reducing the stigma associated with mental health.

We all encounter challenges in life without caution. Handling the surge of emotions resulting from these unexpected experiences can negatively impact our behavior and interaction with others. My goal is to help you overcome those difficulties and re-imagine your life in the future. I am a psychotherapist who helps get to the root of your symptoms. Whether it’s anger, depression, anxiety, trauma, problems with self-esteem, or relationship difficulties, we will identify whatever hinders your growth to a better you. No matter where we begin, we work together, and your journey is based on the steps you choose to take.
Do you experience hypervigilance? panic? overwhelm? avoidance? unexplained physical symptoms? Many of my clients didn't realize that their symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and relationship struggles stem from trauma. Trauma isn't just something soldiers experience — it encompasses so many different life experiences. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to get at the root of your symptoms, rather than putting a bandaid on them for a temporary fix. I'm trained in EMDR 2.0 and the Four Blinks Flash technique, and I use advanced EMDR software to work effectively with clients online. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for clients ready to go deeper when talk therapy has reached its limits, along with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and ADHD-informed therapy. I've worked extensively with people in the LGBTQ+ community. If you're interested in working together, reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation — we can decide if we're a good fit. You are making an amazing and brave step in your healing journey!

Bilingual therapist who works with COLLEGE STUDENTS, GRADUATE STUDENTS & ADULTS. I approach my work with a collaborative spirit knowing that you are the expert on your life. The goal of therapy is to approach a problem together so that you feel more capable and energized to handle the challenge that life has sent your way. Together we will acknowledge and celebrate the ways you are already coping with the stressful situation that brought you into therapy and develop strategies and life habits to manage difficult situations. I have practiced in a range of settings, with clients of diverse ages and backgrounds. I help parents decode their child's needs and offer parents strategies to better respond to them. I am also passionate about working with college students, professionals, and parents who are seeking greater work-life balance, belonging, and significance. As a white, straight, cisgendered female clinician, Nancy is a proponent of social justice and works hard to create an environment where her clients can feel understood, supported, and accepted. I value collaboration, trust, and mutual respect in the therapeutic relationship. Rather than positioning myself as the expert on your life, I help you engage your strengths and inner wisdom in the healing process. I take a holistic approach to wellness, honoring the mind, body, and spirit, while acknowledging the impact of societal and systemic forces on mental health. I create an affirming, intentional, and safe space for you to explore how your identities, values, past experiences, and fears shape your challenges. My practice integrates cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT), mindfulness, and mind-body practices, fostering deeper awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Rooted in a humanistic approach, I deeply believe in your wholeness and potential and help you reconnect with personal strength and clarity.
Are you having trouble falling or staying asleep? Are you replaying painful memories in your head, unable to get past troubling thoughts? If you have tried everything to get better sleep, get rid of negative thoughts and anxiety, I can help using evidence-based techniques like EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) and CBT-i (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia). In my practice, I help teenagers and adults work through depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, problems sleeping and difficulty adjusting to college life. I believe that therapy works best when the therapist-client relationship is a collaboration, and we figure out how to move forward together. Clients describe my style as integrative, empathic and accepting and I hope to help you uncover the underlying cause of your struggles. If you have a busy schedule, working on yourself gets put off for months or even years. You may even feel like you are not worth prioritizing. Reaching out to a therapist can be difficult, but it is the first step toward getting better. Please contact me for a free phone consultation to determine if we will be a good fit.
