Making the decision to begin your therapeutic journey can feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a safe environment for you to grow and explore the things that have been holding you back. This could be feelings of anxiety, trauma, communication issues, difficulty establishing boundaries, toxic relationships with family or friends, or a major change in your life that has left you feeling confused or lost. I graduated from The University of Georgia in 2011 with my masters in counseling; I worked as a staff therapist, suicide prevention coordinator, and disability services coordinator at Georgia Southern University and East Georgia State College respectively before going into private practice. I'm passionate about helping college students as they juggle demands and make major relationship and career decisions - it is a unique and overwhelming stage of life. I'm located near Charleston where I'm offering sessions via telehealth to GA & SC residents. Counseling can help improve communication between loved ones, support individuals adjusting to major life transitions, or develop coping skills to better manage emotions that have become distressing. I'm grateful you had the courage to explore counseling. Life is stressful at times and we can all use a safe place to receive support and feedback. Hawk's Nest Counseling is nestled on an 11 acre hobby farm. We offer a unique setting incorporating Nigerian dwarf goats, chickens and cows as well as a therapy dog. All of the animals on the farm have been hand raised with therapeutic purposes in mind. Our clients have a unique opportunity to walk and talk on the nature trail, chat while walking a goat or just lounging in the variety of outdoor sitting spaces. Our three therapists offer a wide range of life and work experiences and an eclectic array of counseling approaches. Rachel Clark (she/they) received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology (2018) from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia, and she recently earned a Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She is passionate about providing quality, accessible mental healthcare to all people, and strives to approach clients' issues from a holistic and multicultural viewpoint. They are an LAPC currently under supervision with an LPC. Rachel has experience in helping clients with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Ebonie is a licensed professional counselor with an extensive background in multiple mental health settings. Ebonie attended Georgia State University before obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2011 and a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018, both from Argosy University. Ebonie began her counseling career at a mental health hospital conducting assessments, completing treatments plans, and facilitating groups. Ebonie has also worked as an intake therapist, as well as providing patients with care in inpatient/outpatient capacities. She also has experience working with government agencies and private practice. Ebonie worked as a mental health assessor in the emergency room of a local hospital assessing and provisionally diagnosing patients that presented in mental health crisis. After several years in private practice, in June of 2023, Ebonie decided to start her very own private practice, what is now known as A Genuine Experience.
