I utilize an integrative, evidence-based approach to therapy. I will focus on your unique authenticity and strengths, and we will work collaboratively to develop coping strategies. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment for anyone seeking insight, balance and growth in their lives. I commend you, as taking the first step towards seeking help is often a difficult one. Please don't hesitate to reach out. I am humbled to help you on your journey to emotional wellness.
I help people who are feeling overwhelmed get back on track. I assist young adults anxious about work or life and who need support and tools to move ahead. Clients of all ages may be going through challenges or life transitions that show up as anxiety or depression or just feeling stuck. I also work with individuals and couples who are stuck in relationship patterns that no longer work for them. I’m knowledgeable about a variety of techniques such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapy, but I use a variety of approaches to helping my clients. As you might expect from my location in the heart of Atlanta, my clients are a diverse group of men and women. I strive to be an anti-racist therapist responsive to the needs of Black clients and other people of color. As a gay man I strongly support empowerment of women. LGBTQ concerns are a special focus of mine; you have the right to expect your therapist to be comfortable and knowledgeable about your concerns. I’ve been in private practice in Atlanta for more than 30 years. I work out of comfortable and tranquil home office in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. (I also offer video sessions if that’s more convenient.) My clients find me engaged, supportive and nonjudgmental. Whether you’ve made use of counseling and therapy before or are seeking a counselor for the first time, I welcome questions you might have about working together.
I specialize in navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and the many emotional challenges that arise during the formative years and beyond. I am trained in trauma informed modalities including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), a proven, evidence-based approach that helps individuals process and reframe traumatic experiences in a safe, structured, and supportive way. In our work together, I prioritize creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe enough to be honest—and supported enough to explore your story at your own pace. I lead with curiosity and believe your experiences are unique and your insights are powerful. Whether you’re facing recent events or old wounds that are still impacting your present, I can guide you toward understanding, healing, and growth. You don’t have to sort through it all alone. If you’re ready to begin or just wondering where to start, I invite you to reach out.

The most common issues that I see are anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, women’s issues, substance abuse, stress, self-esteem, and relationship problems. I am a compassionate, non-judgemental therapist. Typically, I use a mix of cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and mindfulness based cognitive therapy techniques with clients. I believe that your brain is a muscle, and with enough work you can train your brain. Together we will explore the thoughts and behaviors that keep you feeling trapped. When you work on changing your thoughts and cognitions, your behavior can change. This in turn, can change your life. I strongly believe in continuing education and learning something new each day. Some of the specific areas that I have much expertise, education, and research in are: -Anxiety in college -Wellness and health counseling -Eating Disorders and Athletes -Stress overload in teens and young adults -Women’s Issues I love working with people who are not afraid to be challenged and those who are motivated to make a lasting change in their life. As far as age populations go, I can work with any age, but work best with those aged over 14 years old. I believe that each person has the power to have control in their life. My hope is for you to leave my office feeling inspired and empowered.
In our sessions, I'm learning about you and working as a guide to help you to make connections between your unique experiences and make sense of what you're experiencing. I use a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) modality, in which we focus on patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they impact each other. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients feel more in control of their emotions and their lives in general. Each session is tailored to the individual, as every person has different needs. We will work together to figure out what is most important to you and the best way for you to create the life you want.

Welcome! I am so glad you are taking the time to look over my profile and get to know me better. It takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to seek out counseling. I believe in the power of therapy and the healing it can bring in one's life. My therapeutic approach is a collaborative approach, meaning as your therapist, I will work with you to help you gain insight and develop coping skills that will make an impactful difference in your life. I always prioritize our relationship and want you to feel safe and accepted for who you are. My clients appreciate my authentic personality, my humor, and my ability to empathize with them. Many of my clients come to therapy to gain a better understanding who they are, where they come from, and where they want to go. Sometimes clients come to therapy for just a handful of sessions and find that they got what they needed in that time. Others may find that they benefit from going to therapy for months or even years. There is no right or wrong way. However, you get as much out of therapy as you put in, so it's important to be an active participant in and out of the session. If I feel that I am not equipped or trained in what you are needing from therapy, I am happy to refer you to another professional who may be a better fit. Finding the right therapist is key in experiencing the full benefits therapy can bring! I encourage you to check out my practice's website and contact me via email or phone to get started! I am happy to provide a free 15 minute phone consultation to learn more about what you are needing in therapy and if I will be a good fit for you!

My personal practice of mindfulness allows me to be fully present and attuned, creating a judgement-free space that supports you.
