I am a double board certified psychiatrist and have been 22 years of experience providing psychiatric care in a variety of settings including outpatient and hospital settings. I see adult patients and address a number of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD and OCD. My areas of interest include the treatment of mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder) and psychiatric issues associated with other medical conditions.
You may look like you’re keeping it together on the outside, but inside you’re exhausted from overthinking, carrying stress, and trying to manage emotions that feel bigger than you can explain. Maybe you’ve learned to push through, stay busy, or take care of everyone else while ignoring what’s happening in your own mind and body. I work with clients who are tired of surviving on autopilot. Many are navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, difficult relationships, or major life changes, and often feel stuck in patterns they understand logically but can’t seem to change. They may feel emotionally drained, disconnected from themselves, or frustrated that they’re struggling even when they’re doing “all the right things.” Therapy with me is a space to be real without judgment. You don’t have to minimize your experiences, make them sound less serious, or show up with the perfect words. Together, we can make sense of what’s beneath the overwhelm, understand the patterns that keep repeating, and create meaningful change that feels sustainable — not performative. If you’re used to being the strong one, the self-aware one, or the one who holds everything together while quietly falling apart, you don’t have to keep doing it alone.
Hi, I’m Crystal Turner, PMHNP-BC. Welcome, i’m glad you’re here. Navigating life as a student can be exciting and rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming at times. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you can slow down, breathe, and feel truly heard. Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you and find practical, compassionate ways to support your mental health. I specialize in helping people manage anxiety, depression, and stress, as well as the challenges that come with balancing school, relationships, and personal growth. My approach combines traditional psychiatric care with a holistic view of wellness. I understand that your mind, body, and environment all play a role in how you feel. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Let’s work together to help you feel grounded, clear, and confident in who you are and where you’re headed.
Kathleen Harvey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri and Illinois and earned a Bachelor's of Arts and Masters in Social Work degrees from St. Louis University.Kathleen believes that it is not what happens to you, it is our attitude and what we choose to do about what happens, that makes a difference. Kathy has experience working with individuals and couples using a multi-disciplinary approach to therapy to help clients resolve life challenges which alter our ability to function in our daily lives. Kathy is accepting new patients at this time and is asking you to take a risk and seek help with what is holding you back from achieving your dreams in life and moving forward in life with joy and hope.
How you feel about yourself, relate with others, and make your way in the world is significantly influenced by your earliest relationships. If your caregivers struggled with their own psychological health, their ability to connect with and be emotionally available to you may have been impaired. You may have felt invalidated, rejected, smothered or unwanted. Since you had no choice but to adapt and attach to the adults available to you, you may now find yourself in relationships that feel empty, end abruptly, or are riddled with conflict. Such disharmony only exacerbates feeling depressed and anxious. As a psychodynamic therapist, I am trained to recognize the underlying thoughts, feelings, and patterns that keep you from sustaining meaningful relationships and stuck in emotional pain. Rather than viewing you as a diagnosis or problem to be solved, I'm most interested in understanding and helping you work through what is troubling you. I completed training at The Object Relations Institute of New York City, The Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago, and I am an Assistant Professor at Indiana University South Bend . I am also a classically trained musician and former high school choral director. Please visit my website at www.kurtmhanus.com
After starting a career in higher education, I realized that I wanted more opportunities to spend time with students 1:1 and support them through all of the life changes that occur throughout college: deciding on a major, finding new friends, separating from family, changing majors, figuring out how to adult, starting a career, excelling in classes that only become more rigorous, and maybe changing majors again. All of this in addition to finding time for yourself becomes quite difficult! As a psychotherapist, I work with students experiencing depression and anxiety as they navigate the challenges and stressors that come with being in college. Many have also had difficult or traumatic experiences while growing up, and are ready to figure out how to talk about them. Through weekly appointments, we'll build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, and quickly develop an understanding of your goals for therapy. For some, this will mean our work together is brief. For others, we'll settle into a long-term working relationship that will see you through the ups and downs over the next few years. I primarily use a psychodynamic approach in therapy, which means we'll explore your inner thoughts and feelings to understand how they affect your behaviors and relationships. I find that this approach helps you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, including how you might get in your own way from time to time and what you might want to do differently. Always, the goal is to support you as you (re)discover your strengths and learn to accept yourself as human, making both life and college a little easier to navigate moving forward. Please note: I'm licensed to see individuals in Florida, Illinois, and Michigan.

Sometimes getting out of bed and facing the world is unbearable. You are expected to show up and give your best, but you have nothing left to give. You muster up enough strength to get by and do it all over again the next day. Perhaps you are stuck in a rut and fear of everything prevents you from moving forward. Your mind is tired and the thought of taking any type of action scares you and makes you retreat. You find yourself in a vicious cycle of making promises to yourself and others, failing, and starting over. We have all been there and have needed someone to walk with us and help us choose a different path. I work with individuals and families to get them "unstuck." Acknowledging that you are the expert on your life, I meet you where you are and we work together to find realistic solutions to your problems. My goal is to empower you to make future decisions that move you forward versus leaving you depleted and stagnant. Contacting someone to support you when you are exhausted, anxious, sad, or afraid is COURAGEOUS! You are worth it and WE will get through this. While the journey may be challenging, you do not have to navigate it on your own. Take the first step to getting unstuck and give yourself permission to heal. I wish you all the best on your healing journey.
“It is important for us to know ourselves and be able to address our own issues head on. It can be easy to shy away from looking at our problems in a realistic light and to take the steps needed to change for the better. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. My office is a safe and supportive environment in which to help you look at your whole self and get comfortable with making lasting changes. Some of the most common things I address in therapy are anxiety, feeling lost or stuck in your life, improving communication, couples in conflict, sexual relationship therapy, depression, preparing for a new baby, feeling unappreciated in your relationship, improving self-esteem, reconnecting with your partner, reducing stress and overwhelming emotions. Understanding emotions and sharing them effectively truly is a skill. Some are born with it, others learn it, but we can always improve. I work with you to help you deepen your understanding around your struggles. I am here as your guide. Let me help you on your journey!” Bridget is a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couple, and family therapy. College can be one of the most exciting and overwhelming seasons of your life. You may be adjusting to being away from home, navigating new relationships, questioning your major, managing academic pressure, or quietly carrying anxiety, depression, or past trauma that hasn’t had space to heal. On the outside, it can look like everyone else is handling it just fine — but inside, you might feel stuck, exhausted, unmotivated, or unsure of who you’re becoming. If you’re in that space, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to work through it by yourself. I work with college students who are in the middle of real life transitions — identity shifts, relationship changes, academic stress, family expectations, grief, trauma, and the quiet weight of self-doubt. Depression during college often doesn’t look like “sad all the time.” It can show up as procrastination, isolation, low motivation, difficulty focusing, or feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. Trauma can show up in relationships, in trust, in sleep, or in how hard you are on yourself. Together, we slow things down. We make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. We identify patterns that are keeping you stuck and build practical tools that help you feel more steady, confident, and grounded. My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I don’t believe in sitting back silently while you struggle to find words. We talk. We process. We challenge unhelpful thoughts. We work through emotional blocks. I integrate approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience while honoring your story. My goal is not just symptom relief — it’s helping you understand yourself better so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. College is a time of growth — but growth can feel uncomfortable. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, numb, stuck, or unsure about your direction, therapy can be a space to reset and regain momentum. You deserve support as you figure out who you are and who you want to become. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to Request an Initial Appointment and begin therapy. You don’t have to wait until things get worse. Let’s work together to help you regain balance, rebuild confidence, and move through this season with strength.
