Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Clarksville, TN

Hello! My name is Kate, and I've been a therapist for 15 years, and a virtual therapist for 3 years. I have a Masters in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I love working with people of all ages, and enjoy addressing a diverse array of issues that impair us from being our best selves. In addition to myself, I work with 4 co-therapists; 3 dogs and a cat! They occassionally make brief appearances during sessions to provide their insight. I generally approach therapy as an equal meeting of you, as the expert on yourself, and me, as someone who can give some qualified insight and ask good questions to guide you to your own answers. I tend to be warm and engaging, and I pull the most from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), although I also use certain tools from other modalities, as well. In our sessions, we will work together to target the areas in which you would like to grow, give you the tools you need in order to produce the desired growth, and tackle sticking points and struggles as you work on applying what we discuss in therapy. I generally will give "homework" between sessions to help you continue to think about and apply what we are working on in your daily life, but it's nothing intense, I promise! Most clients find the "homework" really helpful and even fun, sometimes.

My treatment focus is on neurodivergent issues and gifted learners. Therapeutic style is evidenced and strength based, multiculturally sensitive, solutions oriented, client centered, and collaborative. You are the expert on you. My role is to facilitate and support an awareness of how to implement changes to overcome unhelpful patterns in thinking and decision making. I strive to see the whole person not just a list of symptoms. Understanding your unique background is key because therapy is not a cookie-cutter approach. Currently in network with Aetna, Kaiser Permanente, Lyra Health, SpringHealth, Sutter EAP, and Cigna in certain states. Have you experienced overwhelming stress in your life? Do you often feel unseen, unwanted, or under-appreciated? Do you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or easily irritated? Maybe you’re not even sure why, but you have a feeling something is just not working well. Your relationships don’t offer the support you wish they did. You feel isolated, overwhelmed and angry much of the time, or you are either avoiding conflict or having more arguments than you’d like. You toggle between wanting to people-please to feel seen and wanting to run off to live alone on an island somewhere off grid. But you know there’s more than this cycle you feel trapped in, a way to feel better, to understand the deeper roots of what’s contributing to your stress, and a way to break free. I help guide you in understanding and managing your emotions, developing coping strategies, and facilitating healing and growth. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to process your experiences, helping you regain a sense of control and resilience. In gardening, the unwanted or overgrown parts of a plant must be trimmed back or cut away to allow for fruit or blossoms to grow. Sometimes, we need to do the same in our life. Although pruning may sound painful and difficult, it is not a punishment. Pruning enhances growth by removing what inhibits us and allows us to grow. It may take some work, but you will not be alone.

Psychologist
Breckenridge, CO

I am a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience. I am accepting new clients who live and/or attend school in Indiana, Colorado or any other state covered by psypact (https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap). If you’re a college student navigating stress, anxiety, academic pressures, or life transitions, you’re not alone. As a clinical psychologist working from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework, I help young adults develop practical skills to manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors more effectively. CBT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that may be holding you back. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, or self-doubt, therapy can provide you with tools to build resilience, confidence, and a greater sense of well-being. College can be an exciting but overwhelming time. Let’s work together to create strategies that empower you to thrive.

I specialize in working with "high achievers." Many of my clients are accomplished problem solvers but they find themselves stuck, frustrated, dissatisfied, distressed, or disconnected and they aren't getting getting where they want to go. I use a relational framework to help them develop a deeper understanding of the issue(s) and work from there to support them as they learn, grow, and discover sustainable and meaningful solutions to the challenges they are facing. This is hard work, but if you are up for the challenge it can also be some of the most meaningful work you'll ever do!
