I have been a practicing psychologist for the past 23 years. I have a warm and informal style which I believe serves my clients well. I use techniques that best fit the needs of my clients. I have an active, directive approach in my clinical work. I do not hesitate to give direct feedback and advice to my clients, and will give homework to clients when necessary. At the start of therapy, I prefer to see clients weekly or once every other week in order to establish continuity in the therapy. I have experience providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and elderly clients. I specialize in cognitive and cognitive-behavioral techniques for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and childhood and adult ADD/ADHD. I also employ an Associate Clinician who works with me on a part-time basis. My broad range of experience and skills will help you to move forward to reach your goals with the issues that bring you to therapy. I have had many successes treating children, adolescents and adults, and look forward to working with you.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, offering individual psychotherapy to adults who may find themselves stuck, dissatisfied, or overwhelmed. I view therapy as a collaborative and active process, with the aims of better understanding one's distress and interpersonal difficulties, and improving one's quality of life. I am committed to helping my clients live more meaningful and authentic lives. I am skilled in the use of empirically supported treatments for psychological problems and I employ these strategies flexibly, with the goal of tailoring each client's treatment to his/her/their individual concerns and unique history. I received my Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I completed my clinical training at the Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. I've also completed two post-graduate fellowships in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I consider myself a generalist, with particular expertise in young adult mental health. In addition to my private practice, I am a faculty member in the clinical psychology doctoral program at William James College. I served as the Clinical Training Director at the MIT Student Counseling Service for over a decade, and I also have supervised psychiatry residents through the Harvard Medical School Longwood Psychiatry Program. NOTE: I offer sessions via telehealth, and will begin to offer in-person appointments this summer.

I am a neurodivergent affirming Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider. For almost two decades, I have been working with and supporting neurodivergent teens, adults, and their parents through life’s transitions. I work with my clients to understand their experience, areas they would like to focus on, and collaborate to address these issues with an approach that’s every bit as unique as they are. I have worked extensively with autistic clients and individuals diagnosed with ADHD, focusing on topics related to anxiety, depression, sexuality, self-esteem, life transitions, workplace conflict, relationships, parenting, social skills, and executive functioning. With a judgment-free, strengths-based approach, I seek to foster happiness and confidence, supporting each person as an individual finding their own path. I believe that differently wired minds are what create progress, innovation, and enrich our world.

At Windward Mental Health in Dedham, we’re here for college students from the surrounding towns—think Wellesley College, Babson, Lasell University, or Regis College—who are navigating the chaos of student life while wrestling with mental health struggles. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is perfect for students like you—maybe a Wellesley undergrad feeling crushed by perfectionism, a Babson entrepreneur battling anxiety that’s tanking your focus, or a Lasell student quietly dealing with depression after a rocky semester. We connect best with those who are juggling classes, part-time jobs, or campus activities, but are hitting a wall with stress, mood swings, or even past tough experiences that keep creeping back. We thrive with students who want to tackle things like overwhelming worry, low energy, or habits they’ve picked up to cope—like too much drinking or scrolling—that aren’t helping anymore. You might be someone who’s sick of faking it through group projects or dorm hangouts, or who’s reeling from a big life shake-up, like losing a friend or failing a class you worked hard for. Our clients often just want to feel steady again—to get back to crushing that presentation, enjoying a night out, or even just sleeping without overthinking everything. Right off Route 128 in Dedham, we’re an easy trip from Needham, Westwood, or Newton, with a schedule that works around your college life—daytime sessions that let you still make that afternoon lecture or evening shift. Whether you’re the overachiever who’s burned out, the quiet one hiding how rough it’s been, or the social butterfly who’s lost your spark, our IOP gives you a judgment-free spot to figure it out with a team that gets what being a student around here is like. If you’re ready to take charge of your mental health and still keep your college groove, we’re here to help you feel stronger and more like yourself.

Everyone, at least once in their life, finds themselves struggling with life events that feel insurmountable or with emotions that feel outside of their control. I believe that therapy can help with that and bring out your own resilience and capacity to learn. My guiding principle is to provide an open and accepting environment where people can explore their personal experiences and reinforce their well-being. I view therapy as a collaborative process and use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to emphasize mindfulness and self-awareness. Working together, we can identify barriers to success, maladaptive responses and strategies to help you find the change you're looking for. I enjoy working with a diverse and multicultural population of clientele. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

It can feel overwhelming to be proactive about making positive changes in our lives. Everyone has their own complicated life circumstances related to school, family, work, relationships, and mental and spiritual well being. Therapy can be an essential tool to work to un-complicate these circumstances and focus on making happiness and wellness a daily priority. When we feel overwhelmed with worry or that it's impossible to accomplish daily tasks we feel powerless. I have been in this field for over 15 years and can provide a supportive and empathic environment in which we can work together on specific goals and changes for your life. My experience with issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and parenting allow me to help you identify obstacles to change and move forward in improving your overall mental health. I am both a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Certified School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor. Entering therapy can be daunting but I will provide a relaxed atmosphere for you to feel empowered and motivated to make real improvements in your life. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities to ensure that we are working towards the best possible solutions for your specific needs.
