Therapists for college students near 02467
Congratulations on beginning the journey of therapy. My name is Zachary Gausland and I am a telehealth therapist accepting new clients who reside in New York and Massachusetts. I believe in the intrinsic strength of each individual and work with my clients to develop a path so they can achieve their goals, no matter what that may be. Whether struggling with life transitions, depression or you desire a space for you to process your inner thought processes, I offer a space that encourages growth and highlights resilience. I utilize various techniques during the therapeutic process including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, narrative, strengths-based and trauma informed care. I recognize the challenges of beginning the therapeutic process. I offer a judgement free zone and welcome you to see if I am a good fit for you. I look forward to the possibility of connecting and until then encourage you to show yourself grace.
Indecision is one of many common concerns I can help people with. I see people with relationship concerns, career concerns, self-esteem/self-confidence concerns, stress and worry, sadness, and loss and grief. I can help with challenging life transitions and increase self-knowledge and insight. I am told that I am "approachable" and "practical". My office is located in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA but currently all appointments are virtual. To learn more about me and my practice please visit my website at: http://www.seramiller.com **Please note: I AM IN-NETWORK FOR ALL BCBS OF MASSACHUSETTS HMO AND ALL BCBS PPO PLANS** I am an out-of-network provider for other insurance company's plans.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and enjoy working with couples and individuals on relationship and other issues such as communication, conflict resolution, self-esteem, anxiety, stress, grief, anger management and depression. I have years of experience at various clinical settings. Other than my outpatient therapy work, I have an extensive experience providing wraparound service for families with children who have severe emotional and behavioral needs. I have worked for Elder Protective Services with elders who are neglected and abused. I have also provided psychiatric evaluation at emergency services and home-based family stabilization work for families with children who are in psychiatric crisis. I am flexible in using different therapeutic approaches to meet my clients' needs and styles. I believe a safe, supportive and respectful environment is important in the therapeutic process and hope to bring healing, transformation and growth throughout the course of therapy. I accept most insurances and have daytime and evening hours. I am bilingual in Cantonese and English and enjoy working with people from different cultural & ethnic backgrounds. I provide only telehealth sessions at this time. Please let me know what you want to work on and your insurance name if you are interested in services. If there is any crisis or emergency, please call 911 or use your local emergency room.
I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to process memories, thoughts and feelings. There are long, lost fears and often past traumas at play in all of us. Some surface, wreaking havoc with our lives. They can appear as grief, depression, anxiety or crisis. Others remain dormant and can surface at all the wrong times. You may appear successful, but despite your accomplishments, you are not happy or it seems like others are happier than you. Your personal relationships are not satisfying in the way you expect. Why is happiness still elusive? We can dislodge what is blocking your best life and guide you to a healthier self. We will guide you to new understandings, new behaviors and new ways of being that will lead you to a happier self. You can reduce the anxiety and depression. You can disarm the trauma and grief that has made the days so uncomfortable. I provide a safe, empathetic environment for change. Call to book an appointment or consultation.
You might seem like you’re holding it all together, but inside feel overwhelmed or disconnected. Many high-achieving students carry the weight of expectations from family, culture, and society. That pressure can leave you exhausted, unsure of yourself, and out of touch with your own needs. I create space for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, and other historically marginalized students to slow down and be known, accepted, and supported as their full selves. I help students work through identity questions, relationship concerns, stress, burnout, imposter feelings, and the impact of trauma. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. You’ll have space to explore the deeper roots of what you're carrying while also building real-world tools to feel more grounded, empowered, and connected. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Working with me means having a steady, supportive space where you can be real, ask hard questions, and grow at your own pace. We’ll focus on what matters most to you while exploring who you are and what you need to feel more whole. I offer virtual sessions for students anywhere in Massachusetts and would be honored to support you as you move through this next chapter. I provide therapy through Intersect Clinical Services, a preferred provider for Boston-area students. We accept UHC StudentResources and Aetna Student Health with minimal or no out-of-pocket costs.

You have learned how to survive and be strong, and still it can feel heavy. This is a space where all parts of you are welcome, without judgment. If you are feeling anxious, depressed, stressed, or emotionally drained, or struggling with your sense of self, identity, or relationships, you are in the right place. You are the expert of your own life. You can show up as you are to speak your truth, laugh, cry, curse, or simply just be. Progress in therapy looks different for everyone. For you, it could be feeling more insightful and equipped to manage daily life’s stressors. It could be having more patience and tolerance for others. You do not have to face this journey alone. We will do it together, at your own pace, with practical strategies, real progress, and true healing.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages with any number of concerns or challenges getting in the way of how they wish to live their lives including anxiety, depression, trauma, major life adjustments or transitions, loss, and substance use. My approach to therapy is down to earth and collaborative. I begin by first aligning with you on your goals and supporting with CBT and DBT therapies. I am also experienced in working with individuals who struggle with substance use and/or are working towards recovery. I believe it is important to have a safe space to process your thoughts and feelings with someone you trust. I enjoy partnering with people to build a therapeutic relationship as they work to reduce the barriers to living the life they want. I approach sessions without judgement and tend to be interactive and compassionate in nature. I like to begin with a brief consultation to be sure we both feel we are a good fit - so please feel free to reach out.
At the current time I am not *personally* accepting new clients because of having to only meet via telehealth. Our practice, however, is still accepting new clients. I've been working individually with college students since 2003. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders/disordered eating, body image issues, and perfectionism, but also treat clients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma histories/PTSD, relationship issues, family issues, life adjustment/transition issues.
I am a LICSW with over fifteen years of experience where I collaborate with clients to discover a resiliency within themselves. My most rewarding experiences have been with young adults who may be just beginning or those returning to college and managing the challenges that arise. I work with individuals who may experience a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, adjusting to life transitions and those impacted by trauma and systems of oppression. I bring warmth, compassion and sometimes humor to our conversations and enjoy working with individuals who are interested in understanding more about themselves and how they move through the world.
We know it can be tough making the first step to find support. Our practice specializes in working with LGBTQ folks, including those in non-monogamous relationships and people living with HIV/AIDS. Our team currently consists of queer identified therapists and we will help you lay the groundwork to make positive changes that will serve to enrich your life. We work collaboratively with our clients on identifying changes they want to see in their lives and taking steps towards those changes. Do you find you struggle with self confidence? Do you often feel dysphoric about your gender? Our team can help.
I am located right in Harvard Square in an old Victorian house on Mt. Auburn st. I have daytime hours, early evening hours and I am in the office on Saturdays. My approach is psychodynamic. This basically means I will be an active participant in the healing relationship. We will look at all areas of life and how things from the past may be interfering with the present. I will always call you within 24 hours or less. I have traveled extensively in my life and so I welcome students from the international community as well as local students. I am a native Bostonian! I welcome undergraduates as well as graduate students.

*When emailing me, please specify what you are seeking therapy for!* My practice is rooted in the belief that everyone is worthy of health, recovery, and a positive relationship with food and their body, no matter their size. My goal is to create a space that feels safe and supportive enough to make positive change happen. I specialize in eating disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, OSFED), self-esteem challenges, anxiety disorders, depression, and self-harming behaviors in young adults (18+) and adults and am currently the assistant clinical director of a nationally recognized eating disorder outpatient program. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). My approach is strengths-based and person-centered, with the belief that therapy is not "one size fits all." We will work as a team to figure out what is most supportive and effective for you. Recovering from disordered eating in a society that encourages it IS possible. If you are ready to take the next step in your recovery, I would love to schedule a phone consultation with you to see if we would be a good fit.

I support clients dealing with a variety of concerns, such as anxiety and stress, depression, trauma and PTSD, emotional regulation, self-esteem and identity exploration, and life transitions. Many of the students I work best with are unsure about medication—or have tried it before and didn’t get the results they hoped for. You might feel hesitant about starting something new, worried about side effects, or unsure if medication is even the right step for you. Some students come in after a frustrating experience, where a medication didn’t help, caused unwanted effects, or just didn’t feel like a good fit. Others have been trying to manage things on their own but are starting to feel stuck with anxiety, low mood, or ongoing stress. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and focused on helping you make informed decisions. Medication is always a choice, not an expectation. We take time to understand what’s been going on, what hasn’t worked in the past, and what your options are moving forward. If medication is part of the plan, we approach it carefully and adjust based on how you actually feel—not just a checklist. Alongside medication management, I provide clear education and brief supportive therapy so you understand what’s happening and have practical ways to cope day-to-day. If you’re looking for a balanced, no-pressure approach where your concerns are taken seriously, we’ll likely be a good fit.
