In my work I am dedicated to supporting clients who are facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, and mood regulation. I see therapy as an opportunity to identify goals and problem-solve the roadblocks that have stalled obtaining them. I believe that treatment is a partnership between client and therapist. Whether it’s identifying negative thinking patterns with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or incorporating mindfulness, radical acceptance, and distress tolerance with dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT); the supports I offer are based on your needs and goals.

People make the decision to engage in therapy for a multitude of reasons, all of which are valid. Some people may be ambivalent about making changes in their lives, while others might feel eager and ready to start the process. Regardless of where you find yourself on that continuum, I am here to support you. Although my background has mainly been focused around eating and body image, I see clients who are experiencing a variety of concerns: relationship issues, anxiety/depression, life transitions, unhappiness, etc. Prior to private practice, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Service, with a specialty in supporting student-athletes and individuals with eating and body image concerns. I have also worked in psychiatric inpatient programs as well as eating disorder treatment programs. My therapeutic style is integrative, which means that our work together will draw on various approaches determined by your concerns and goals. My hope is for us to build a trusting relationship that will allow for honest reflection, helpful challenge, and ultimately positive change so that you may be able to lead a more fulfilling life.

As your therapist, I will give you a judgment-free environment where I will help you combat your negative thoughts and find a positive way to move in whatever direction life brings. Equally, I will provide you with time to make those adjustments, as we all know there can be setbacks along the way, but that doesn’t have to stop us. Together, we will build a stronger community. The students I connect with most are curious about themselves and want to understand not just what they feel, but why. Many seem capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside — struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, friendship or dating struggles, or a harsh inner critic. Some notice the same patterns repeating or feel unsure of who they are and what they want. If you’re ready to look a little deeper, we’ll likely be a good fit. I offer a steady, supportive space to explore the inner stuff you’ve been carrying around. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a sense of humor to our work, helping therapy feel human, relatable, and sometimes even a little fun. I use talk therapy as our foundation, and when it’s a good fit, I may also bring in EMDR, a well-researched approach that helps your brain process difficult experiences — whether from the past or present — so they feel less intense and less triggering. I also draw from practical skills, mindfulness, and self-exploration tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control — ready to move through college with greater clarity, self-trust, and maybe even a few laughs along the way.

Having three children in their 20s who've experienced college and graduate school, and having been a university first year advisor for six years, I'm interested in helping students manage their transition to college, academic pressures, relationships, and the anxiety or depression that sometimes overwhelm us at this stage in life.

I'm a PhD psychologist, with advanced training beyond my doctorate from Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. My orientation is relational, psychodynamic therapy. This means I focus with you on whatever dynamics might have been set in motion when you were younger as well as with present day difficulties. I work with people who are struggling with feelings of sadness and anxiety, worries about self esteem, identity, friendships, relationships and career issues among many other things. Sometimes there are struggles with issues about being away from home at school, or issues about entering adulthood. I am happy to try and help with the things troubling you.I've worked with many students both undergraduates and graduate students and enjoy helping young adults sort through what might be troubling to find a more satisfying and happier way of being.

Much of my work focuses on supporting clients as they navigate identity, relationships, and life transitions. While I welcome individuals from all backgrounds, I have particular experience supporting Young Adults and Asian American clients, especially those balancing multicultural identities, family expectations, and cultural values. My therapeutic approach has been informed by work in emergency units, inpatient settings, and college campuses. I focus on meeting you where you are and creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and collaborative. Together, we identify goals that matter to you and explore patterns or concerns you’d like to understand more deeply or approach differently. I value open communication and believe growth often happens when we gently step into discomfort. I integrate evidence-based approaches while staying mindful of how your unique experiences have shaped your perspective and sense of self. Sessions are intentional and structured, with an emphasis on insight, self-understanding, and meaningful change.
