As an experienced psychiatric and family nurse practitioner it is my duty to positively impact you as your embark on your mental health journey. The associated stigma and biases relative to medication management oftentimes results in delayed care and perceived misconception. I am here to provide a safe place to voice your concerns and questions. We will explore and determine as a collective if medication is the best option for you and proceed accordingly.
At Myers-Galloway Counseling, we specialize in supporting women who are used to holding everything together — for their families, their friends, and everyone around them — while quietly putting themselves last. If you’re a college student, you may already know this feeling. The pressure to perform, to be everything to everyone, and to keep it moving no matter what. We see you, and we’re here to help. Our team of licensed, trauma-informed therapists has supported 500+ women through 6,500+ sessions over the past decade. We specialize in burnout, emotional neglect, over-responsibility, and the patterns that quietly wear you down over time. Our approach is practical and compassionate — using EMDR and solution-focused techniques to help you move forward, not just process. We meet clients where they are and create a space where healing feels possible, not overwhelming. Myers-Galloway Counseling is based in Charlotte, NC and currently accepting new clients.

Have you found yourself struggling with feeling overwhelmed way more than you would like to admit? Has your anxiety washed over you with no rhyme or reason, only to leave you feeling exhausted and confused? Transitioning back to "normal life" and having adult responsibilities is hard enough, but when you add anxiety to the mix--things tend to get interesting (and probably not in the way you would like). My perspective in therapy is that everyone has their own “coping skills toolbox” and it is my job to help you polish the rusty tools that you haven’t used in a while and make room for new and improved tools that are just for you. I will be your accountability partner by supporting and challenging you when needed. While sometimes our lives can feel out of control, many times all we need is a little boost from an outside person to help us move through overwhelming situations. I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client, so please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit!

Throughout our lives we are in a constant state of growth. Experiencing life transitions, exploring who we are as people, navigating relationships. These inevitable experiences can be exacerbated by mental and emotional challenges, substance use, trauma, and additional life stressors of school and family life. I help people navigate how to manage it all. Utilizing mind and body based approaches, I will help you learn what it is you need to find healing, balance, and ease through it all.

I work with clients who are grappling with anxiety, depression, and stress. Many are dealing with changes in their family, including substance use, codependency, and relationship issues. My clients are diverse but they all want to feel understood, heard, and validated. The most important part of therapy is the rapport between the clinician and the client, which is known as unconditional positive regard. The client needs to feel supported so that they can freely discuss the presenting problem. Throughout this process, I strive to be warm, empathetic, and knowledgeable; clients have previously described me as patient and open minded.
Hello and welcome! Typically, I see client's ranging from ages 5-30. I enjoy helping clients work on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, family dynamics, life transitions, suicidal ideation and self-harm. I believe in walking alongside clients while providing a supportive and nonjudgmental space. I often use mindfulness techniques, solution focused therapy and trauma-informed care in treatment. I am passionate about social justice and love to incorporate nature and art into practice. Through a person-centered approach, I reinforce the belief that individuals are experts of their own life by utilizing their natural supports and strengths.

I truly believe that everyone has the tools and potential to deal with and face their life challenges, adversities, conflicts, and pain. I am a passionate listener to your story. Together, we will find your own ability to live a better life with yourself and with others.
College can be one of the most exciting and overwhelming seasons of your life. You may be adjusting to being away from home, navigating new relationships, questioning your major, managing academic pressure, or quietly carrying anxiety, depression, or past trauma that hasn’t had space to heal. On the outside, it can look like everyone else is handling it just fine — but inside, you might feel stuck, exhausted, unmotivated, or unsure of who you’re becoming. If you’re in that space, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to work through it by yourself. I work with college students who are in the middle of real life transitions — identity shifts, relationship changes, academic stress, family expectations, grief, trauma, and the quiet weight of self-doubt. Depression during college often doesn’t look like “sad all the time.” It can show up as procrastination, isolation, low motivation, difficulty focusing, or feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. Trauma can show up in relationships, in trust, in sleep, or in how hard you are on yourself. Together, we slow things down. We make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. We identify patterns that are keeping you stuck and build practical tools that help you feel more steady, confident, and grounded. My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I don’t believe in sitting back silently while you struggle to find words. We talk. We process. We challenge unhelpful thoughts. We work through emotional blocks. I integrate approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience while honoring your story. My goal is not just symptom relief — it’s helping you understand yourself better so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. College is a time of growth — but growth can feel uncomfortable. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, numb, stuck, or unsure about your direction, therapy can be a space to reset and regain momentum. You deserve support as you figure out who you are and who you want to become. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to Request an Initial Appointment and begin therapy. You don’t have to wait until things get worse. Let’s work together to help you regain balance, rebuild confidence, and move through this season with strength.
With experience working with children, adults, and couples, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space—whether in the office or outdoors—where you can explore emotions, deepen self-awareness, and create lasting personal growth. My person-centered approach keeps your voice and your goals at the core of our work. Whether you're navigating anxiety, healing from trauma, improving relationships, or searching for direction, I’m here to support and guide you. Together, we’ll collaborate to create meaningful change at a pace and style that feels right for you.
I see you as a whole person—not a problem to fix. In our work together, I honor your identity and abilities while also acknowledging the very real barriers, exhaustion, and inequities you may encounter every day. My goal is to support you in navigating a world that isn’t always built with you in mind—without asking you to erase or override who you are. I am committed to providing Neuro- and LGBTQ+ affirming therapy on your terms and to meet you where you are. Whether you struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, focus and concentration, relationships, life transitions, or just being a human in the world today, you are welcome here--all of you. Let down the mask and lets figure out how to feel better together!
