I work with primarily LGBTQIA+ community. I am very down to earth, non judgmental and integrate humor in my sessions because therapy doesn't always have to be "serious". I feel honored to help people with their therapy journey and make sure everyone feels safe and accepted.

My mission is to walk alongside teenage and college-aged women, children, and families on their journey towards health and flourishing. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling that addresses the emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual facets of who we are. As a former student I understand the severe challenges college can bring. I am seeking to care for those struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, life transitions, and personal growth. I desire to be a light in the darkness and a source of hope and comfort for others in their own seasons of struggle. I am also happy to incorporate faith and spirituality in the counseling process upon request. I am a counseling intern under supervision pursuing my Master's degree in Christian Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

We are a team of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) that share the goal of creating a welcoming and safe space to explore mental health concerns, develop tools and resources, and provide support in becoming the you that you aspire to be. We chose the name Tides, not only for our shared love of the beach but also because in life "tides" or circumstances often change and we strive to be agents of positive changing tides in the lives of people we serve. Our focus is to help individuals, couples, and families heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a therapy treatment plan. We promise to be there for you every step of your journey. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), I specialize in providing highly tailored therapeutic support and executive functioning coaching exclusively to college students at Indiana University and around the country. I understand that guiding a young adult through the collegiate transition from afar can be incredibly stressful for families. My practice is deliberately structured to help students build resilience, while providing out-of-town parents with comprehensive advisory support and absolute peace of mind. Whether your student is navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, or a deficit in motivation and executive functioning, my goal is to deliver proactive, highly structured intervention. Through our bespoke consulting packages, we ensure students thrive both academically and personally, without falling through the cracks of large university systems. Specialized Therapeutic & Executive Function Support I provide focused, high-touch support tailored to the unique academic and personal demands of the college years, including: Executive Functioning & Motivation: Installing robust weekly schedules, study rules, and workflows to combat paralysis and build self-driven habits. Targeted Mental Health Care: Private therapeutic support for college-specific challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use. Academic Monitoring: Ongoing oversight, accountability check-ins, and early-warning risk detection to catch issues before they escalate into academic crises. Parent Advisory & Coaching: Direct guidance on establishing healthy boundaries, utilizing our Parent Oversight Framework, and navigating complex family dynamics. Why Families Choose Our Practice Bespoke Support Tiers: From targeted Individual Counseling, theSemester Launch setups or my 12-month Semester Concierge engagements, we provide the exact level of intervention your family requires. Executive-Level Advisory: We act as a "family office" for your students well-being, providing parents with regular status briefs and clear guidance on what to monitor versus what to ignore. Proactive Risk Containment: We do not wait for a crisis. We install systems, monitor academic progress, and coordinate a proactive strategy to ensure consistency and long-term independence. Recognized Authority: As the author of The Insiders Guide to Parenting and The Insider's Guide to College, and host of The Better Semester podcast, my frameworks are grounded in nearly 25 years of specialized clinical experience. Background & Expertise With a Master's degree in Community Counseling and extensive clinical training, I have dedicated my career to collegiate mental health. My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic practices with strategic, high-level advisory. I partner closely with families globally to reduce friction, establish clarity, and create a master plan for their young adult's success. To explore our consulting tiers and find the level of intervention that matches your family's needs, please contact our office directly to schedule a private consultation.

Welcome! We help people help themselves to live a more full and whole life, void of medicating and suffering in isolation. We meet our clients where they are and invite them to learn and create what recovery means to them. We do this be holding up a mirror and walking with our clients rather than telling them what they should do. We also help clients connect. Isolation is such a painful symptom of anxiety, depression and medicating. 'Together we can do what we could never do alone' is what we practice at the Relationship Enrichment Center. Reach out, and let us support you.

You're both reflective, and self-critical, constantly trying to prove yourself. The strive for perfection, and loud inner critic leave you feeling exhausted both physically and emotionally. You want to feel better, but don't know where to begin... Whether you're navigating anxiety, processing trauma, or you’re exploring your relationship with food and/or your body, I want you to know things can get better. My work focuses on empowering college aged and younger adult women as they begin to connect with who they are, clarify what is important to them, and cultivate a life where they feel fulfilled, connected, and energized. My approach is warm, relational, trauma informed, and direct. I use humor when appropriate, and encourage my clients to show up authentically. I integrate somatic (body) based interventions like gentle movement, breathwork, and ifs-parts work with cognitive approaches to help you better identify, understand, and work through your thoughts and feelings. My passion is helping women explore and improve their relationships with food, their bodies, and ultimately, themselves. Together we can explore the deep rooted narratives you hold, and work on building a new story that feels both empowering and tangible. I strongly believe we heal through safe connection, so if you're ready and willing, let's connect!

I love working with college students to help identify barriers to reaching your goals. I pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches to fit my client's specific needs and skill sets. I work with clients to build their resilience and identify gaps in their strengths so they can face each day and each challenge with confidence. We can look back at recent patterns you have been facing and look at a variety of factors that may be impacting you such as genetics, family of origin, interpersonal relationships, eating habits, school stress, thought processes, trauma history, emotion regulation, coping skills, pressure felt externally and socially, and more. My clients are motivated to make changes and I help them navigate the path to reach their goals.

Hey Hey! I'm Kayla (she/they)! Before I bore you with the therapy jargon, how about you get to know a little bit about who I am as a person first? If you catch me out around town, I am either bopping to the music in my headphones, reading, at a festival, or talking to a random stranger about their entire life story! I am a proud native of Charlotte, NC! I grew up helping out at my family’s restaurant, Sub One Hoagie House [shameless plug hehe] located in Uptown Charlotte. I can remember feeling so cool and infatuated by the idea that I had the opportunity to be so close to the Bank of America Stadium nearly every day of the week; which, until recently, I had still been calling the Panther’s Football Stadium… still sounds cooler to me! I have a passion for all things music; whether it be attending concerts, making music, or creating playlists that I am too scared to share with anyone else! In fact, I used to be one of the lead singers in a band where I'd travel on the weekends performing at weddings and other various corporate sponsored events. I've also been playing drums for over a decade and picked up guitar a few years ago; YouTube really comes in handy! I come from a very musical family if you hadn’t picked up on that :) Incorporating music, art, poetry/lyrics in sessions with clients is something I've seen to be very valuable, allowing my clients to tap into reflection and feeling that may otherwise be hard to express with just "regular ole'" talk-therapy! Those who know me would describe me as quirky, bubbly, and someone who has the ability to carry on a conversation with anyone, including a brick wall ☺ I love meeting new people while also continuing to build and foster the close relationships I already have. *Potentially* Fun Facts: - I like sunsets over sunrises. - I like music. -I like dancing. -I like talking. -I like the ocean. -I like mountainous terrain. -I like coffee. -I like smiling. -I like my dog (sometimes). - I like random facts. Okay.. Now, for the REAL reason you're here! I seek to provide a brave and encouraging space where clients are encouraged to speak from their own diverse and multicultural backgrounds, aiding in the ability to become more self-aware, self-accepting, and self-motivated. I co-create with clients to build a strong therapeutic relationship, discuss barriers to change, building self-encouragement, discussing techniques for change, and goal setting. I hope to help clients recognize limiting belief patterns and replace them with more functional and positive patterns of belief, behavior, and emotional expression. My approach to counseling combines elements of both Interpersonal and Developmental Psychotherapy, which focuses on the intersectionalities of a client’s development and their present behaviors, to help clients work toward productive change. Together, we will explore mutually agreed upon goals and treatment plans. Though it is impossible to guarantee any specific results regarding your goals or treatment plan, I assure you that I'll remain determined and attuned to your individual needs so you are able to achieve the best possible outcome. I welcome the opportunity to have a virtual meet and greet with you to determine whether we would be a great fit for one another in establishing a therapeutic relationship!
