Hi, I’m Sara Roesler, LICSW, LCSW, MSW, MPH. I provide a compassionate, supportive space for adults feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, mood changes, or the pressure to keep everything together. I specialize in helping people navigate the new onset of bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, or mood changes, and I also work with those managing ongoing or chronic challenges. Many of my clients may appear like they’re “handling it” on the outside, but inside they’re dealing with racing thoughts, emotional ups and downs, or patterns that keep repeating in relationships. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on you and work toward feeling more grounded, balanced, and connected to yourself. If you’re ready for change and want a therapist who truly understands how these challenges affect work, relationships, and everyday life, I’m here to walk alongside you. I’d love to support you in building a calmer, steadier, and more empowered version of yourself.
I enjoy working with a variety of adult populations including LGBTQIA+, first responders, active and retired military members, their families, and dependents. I've assisted clients through their journey with grief, PTSD, relationship stresses, depression, and mood disorders for the past 5 years. If you are struggling with intrusive thoughts, depression, isolation, or anxiety I am happy to assist you in uncovering the source of these concerns and work with you toward getting back to a more positive place in your life.

I am passionate about helping people heal and develop their connection to themselves and others in a holistic way. I believe that healing occurs when we address the whole person including emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual health. I value our ability to connect with our stories and integrate all aspects of ourselves (body, mind, and soul) to help us grow. I apply a collaborative approach to counseling and focus on creating a therapeutic relationship centered on trust and respect. My desire is that all of my clients feel safe and known. Clients of mine have learned to better regulate their emotions, develop a better sense of self, decrease and manage addictive behaviors, overcome disordered eating and heal from past trauma. My scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-esteem, addictions, relational problems, and adjustment disorders.
Hello! I am an LCMHC who has been in this field for a little over 20 years. Do you want to improve the quality of your life? Do you want to make long-lasting changes that improve areas of your life such as work and relationships? I empower clients to overcome the daily challenges of dealing with such issues as depression (or other mood disorders), anxiety, PTSD/Trauma, and grief. . I do believe in a holistic approach that focuses on the mind-body-spirit connection. I utilize various techniques that include mindfulness, helping you identify and address irrational thoughts, motivational interviewing and more. I work with clients to identify treatment goals at their 1st appointment, if possible and I also like to assign therapeutic "homework" since this helps clients practice and eventually acquire the skills they need to feel better about themselves and their lives. Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed by the challenges and circumstances in your life? Have you experienced feelings of loneliness, depression, anxiety, sadness, or a lack of support when you needed someone to confide in? I understand these struggles, and I want you to know that it's perfectly okay to not be okay. I'm here to provide you with the tools and strategies you need to break free from negative thought patterns and self-defeating behaviors. Similar to regular physical check-ups, therapy serves as a preventive measure, equipping you with effective strategies to navigate moments of chaos, uncertainty, and everyday life. Together let's transform emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns for your desired outcomes. I support young adults, college students, and adults particularly those from BIPOC communities, facing depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My aim is to empower you, raise your self-awareness, and break down the barriers of mental health stigma. The first step is daunting yet essential. Therapy isn't weakness; it shows strength and courage to seek support. My priority is a nonjudgmental, safe space where you can freely express yourself. Remember, progress begins with putting one foot in front of the other, and soon enough, you'll be walking towards a brighter future.
Do you struggle with feeling out of control - or, alternately, with working desperately hard to stay in control? Does the idea of losing or letting go of control feel terrifying and dangerous? Maybe you even swing between these extremes at times, and have no idea why. Trauma, stress, and challenging life experiences can show up in lots of different ways, with lots of different symptoms. I’ve worked with people who have many different kinds of presenting concerns or diagnoses, but who have similar struggles with control in one way or another. I help people who are confused by their emotional reactions to make sense of their feelings, and to learn how to cope with their stress in order to heal and grow. I love collaborating with clients to build a sense of safety and a strong working alliance, particularly with people who have experiences of relational trauma. Whether you are totally new to counseling, or have been in therapy for years, I want to work with you during this part of your story.
Though my therapeutic approach may vary slightly from person to person, it is always my priority to provide a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment where you feel secure in navigating life’s many ups and downs. I believe that a trusting, authentic relationship between client and therapist is the key to progress, so you’ll find that I also show up to the therapy room with authenticity, compassion, acceptance, and sometimes a little humor. I enjoy taking a laid back, curious approach to therapy so I can work to more fully understand an individual’s unique lived experience.
My approach is one of empathy and compassion where I will hold space for all of your emotions while you navigate through difficult life events. My counseling style is warm, nurturing, and person-centered and I use interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - helping you work toward acceptance and awareness of the full range of your emotions, thoughts, and sensations in order to better understand yourself. Some of the specific issues I address include eating disorders, self-image, body-image dissatisfaction, life transitions, and anxiety/depression. I have experience working with those in recovery from eating disorders, with a focus on binge-eating and emotional eating, and body-image issues. I believe that through a deeper understanding of ourselves, we can begin to make decisions with clarity. During our work together, we will work on developing a better understanding of your values, in order to live a life with more purpose and meaning.
My passion is for helping people grow their self-confidence, improve communication skills, and build resilience. I work with teens and adults who are experiencing mental health distress, feel stuck and are looking to make changes to experience more joy in life. Through working with me, clients enhance their emotion regulation, establish new effective coping skills, and heal past trauma. LQBGTIA+ issues, recovery maintenance, anxiety and depression are common reason people seek treatment with me. My focus is to help individuals heal and progress through identifying their inner strengths. This is accomplished by providing an open space to hear your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan to help you achieve your goals. I am also a LGBTQIA+ allied therapist so I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment to everyone who comes to see me.
