We are a team of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) that share the goal of creating a welcoming and safe space to explore mental health concerns, develop tools and resources, and provide support in becoming the you that you aspire to be. We chose the name Tides, not only for our shared love of the beach but also because in life "tides" or circumstances often change and we strive to be agents of positive changing tides in the lives of people we serve.

I offer virtual therapy to clients located anywhere in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. My approach is exploratory, rather than pre-planned or highly structured. My style is informal and at ease; I offer a space where you can relax enough to become more of who you actually are, rather than feeling like we are analyzing or troubleshooting you. Our focus isn’t determined by what we worked on last time or by a treatment manual – it emerges from what you're wanting, wondering, or feeling each time you arrive. I work best with people willing to continue the work between sessions, by practicing present-focused awareness and trying out gentler, more curious responses to their body sensations, thoughts, and feelings. I offer a collaborative space for you to learn to listen to your pain in a way that fosters healing and insight. Because growth takes courage and vulnerability, our work will also empower you to discover your own strength and set your own pace. Our relationship will be rooted in trust, imagination, and fierce respect for the journey you’re on. My approach is a fusion of many therapeutic styles, including Gestalt therapy, humanistic therapy, feminist therapy, and Buddhist psychology. Please visit dorothycashore.com for more details about me and the way I work, then feel free to reach out to schedule a phone consult. I'd be glad to talk with you about whether we'd be a good fit.

Immediate telehealth evening appts. You're tired. You have to carry BIG emotions all the damn time with no outlet to let them out. You may cry when you’re alone, but put on a smile so the world can’t see you're hurting on the inside. There is no time to slow down because slowing down makes the inner critic grow louder about how awful you are. Perhaps you get some release through eating or other coping methods, but ultimately, that voice comes right back again. The inner critic makes it hard for you to accept yourself and love your flaws. It makes it hard for you to live your life intentionally, with confidence in yourself to use your voice. Everyone deserves to live a life they're excited to wake up to. Therapy helps with this. It allows you to show up and be your authentic self while healing that inner critic who causes trauma and shame. You don't have to save face. The journey may be tough. However, taking a step allows you to get closer to the resiliency you seek and break the cycle. If anything above resonates with you, I see you. I look forward to helping you become the best version of yourself. All you have to do is show up and I'll walk the beaten path with you. Just call or schedule at (www.ashleyhoseycounseling.com). I'm an OON provider but ask about superbills and other payment options.

Of all the relationships we have in our lives, I believe that the one you have with yourself is the most important and impactful. Therapy allows a person to create an authentic relationship with oneself. My passion for this work comes from seeing my clients evolve to feel happier and healthier in their daily lives. Life is hard. You’re tired of unfair social standards and exhausted from your identities not being celebrated, valued, or welcomed. The space you occupy comes with expectations and standards that feel like inescapable constraints. When you pause and look up at the stars you feel a sense of belonging and feel connected to your guiding values yet your day-to-day is missing this feeling. You stay overly busy without time to think about the hard stuff, or you find yourself sad and overwhelmed with less interest in things you may normally care about, and wonder where to go from here. This might be where therapy comes in. Together we can move towards seeing yourself as valuable, living the life you want to live, navigating systems of oppression, and creating community as a way to heal. I specialize in working with adults with marginalized identities. My areas of focus are anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and identity-related difficulties. During our sessions, we will work within an anti-racist, social justice, Disability Justice, and Health at Every Size framework. If this sounds like a foundation you’d like to work with and you’re looking for the balance between genuine connection, radical compassion, accountability, and a dash of silliness, I might be the therapist for you
