I approach therapy as an open, safe, and comfortable place for clients. I immediately work on creating a good client-therapist bond. I encourage open communication and collaborative work toward creating goals. I ask clients, as part of therapy and to increase the completion of goals, to do the work we discuss outside of therapy. I ask for a commitment from them to do the work otherwise the process is slower and the chance of reaching goals is decreased. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. Octave is a mental health practice providing high-quality care covered by multiple insurances. Evernorth Behavioral Care Group is a behavioral health provider group in-network with Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth. For my availability, please reach out to Octave’s team by emailing or calling.

Garren Gillum
Together we will review and weigh the anxious, depressive, resentful, or otherwise negative thoughts and behavioral patterns to determine their merit and usefulness and work on promoting alternative, healthy thoughts and patterns to replace them. We will be looking at the whole you, the biological, social, emotional, and logical parts of you and how they interact with one another. We will be looking at daily activities, self-care, social interaction, hopes, dreams, and more to inspire ways to begin living in a way that is closer to the life you want to be living. We will work on expressing and processing emotions through discussion of various specific stressors, as I have seen that we can more easily see patterns in how we handle reoccurring, specific situations in the past and present. All of this will be done in a nonjudgmental, supportive, and authentic space. I look forward to walking beside you at this crossroads in your life. I have been in the field for 10 years working with children, teens, adults and seniors dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, relationship/family conflict, divorce and domestic violence. I view each individual or family as unique and approach therapy in the same way, meeting them where they are at. Therapy can be uncomfortable and so I try to structure each session as a casual conversation to help facilitate a safe space where change and vulnerability are welcome. Krista McCarthy
After a long and incredibly fulfilling career in oncology social work, I left the medical field choosing instead to transfer all I have learned into the more personal setting of private practice. This has allowed me the wonderful opportunity to really lean in and focus completely on the one-to-one support I had always been so passionate about but rarely had the time to pursue in the hospital. Presently my practice is fully remote. I am collaborative, interactive, and always open to feedback as we take this journey together. As far as my clinical approaches, I draw a great deal of inspiration from meaning-centered psychotherapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion approaches. Most importantly though, my role is to hold space for you, creating an atmosphere of unconditional support and safety so that, together, we can explore and address the challenges you are facing. Beyond Burnout Co
Hi, I’m Megan! I’m a licensed therapist in New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina who helps people feeling burned out, anxious, or stuck in survival mode reconnect with balance and purpose. Many of my clients come to me after feeling overwhelmed by work, relationships, or the constant pressure to keep going — even when they’re running on empty. I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, make sense of what’s been weighing on you, and learn healthier ways to cope. My style is compassionate and collaborative — I meet you where you are and help you build practical tools for stress, boundaries, and self-care that actually fit your life. Before starting my private practice, I worked in behavioral health settings supporting individuals living with substance use, bipolar disorder, and other chronic mental health conditions. That experience taught me that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all — and that real change happens when therapy feels safe, personalized, and empowering. If you’re ready to move from burnout to balance, I’d love to help you take that next step.
