We do this by offering evidence-based psychotherapy and psycho-educational services for people to learn and practice strategies that promote resilience and persistence so they can live more embodied, joyful and purposeful lives in the face of life’s challenges. One of our specialties is working with emerging adults. Emerging adulthood is a more self-focused time of identity exploration, with the young person poised on the cusp of opportunity, attempting to actively create the future ahead while also feeling the inherent instability of the fledging process of as well. Navigating the demands of life before and after college, finding an alternative path to college, and transitioning to a new career and new relationships is challenging. It can feel overwhelming. We offer a variety of solutions that assist in the following ways: *Exploring identity development in a safe and confidential setting *Learning to negotiate conflicts with peers and adults *Increasing self-regulation *Exploring role transitions within the family l Becoming more independent from family *Creating more intimate friendships and relationships with peers * Consolidating identity and self-regulation *Developing greater organization and time management skills *Making healthier lifestyle choices *Learning to be assertive *Establishing oneself as a capable and valued person within society Did you know? Emerging adults are particularly at-risk for mental health issues. In a given year, over 40% of U.S. 18 to 29 year-olds meet the criteria for a psychiatric disorder, a higher rate than for any other adult age group. The most common disorders are anxiety (22.3%), substance use (22.0%), and mood disorder (22.0%). We are here to help!

You’re used to handling things. You’ve figured out how to succeed, meet deadlines, and show up for others — but lately it feels harder. Maybe anxiety is louder, your mood dips more often, or relationships feel strained. You don’t have to keep pushing through alone. Therapy can help you build steadiness, clarity, and more intentional choices in the middle of a demanding season. At Mind Field Therapy, I work with college students navigating anxiety, depression, identity shifts, relationship stress, and the impact of difficult life events or past trauma. I’ll absolutely ask how you’re feeling — and we’ll go deeper than that. I’m direct, grounded, and occasionally use humor when it helps us loosen anxiety’s grip. The goal isn’t endless venting; it’s understanding what’s driving the patterns and building tools you can actually use.

Each person has a unique experience and healing requires an individualized plan. Healing occurs through a combination of multiple different sources. Therapy can be one tool that can aid in growth that can alleviate suffering. Therapy can be both challenging and rewarding. I believe that a critical component of therapy is a trusting relationship with compassion, feeling heard and seen. Working with someone who you trust to hear your experience and challenge you in positive ways. I am a Yale and VA-trained clinical psychologist , licensed in CT and NY, who has over a decade of experience working with people struggling with addiction. Additionally, I have expertise treating anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, and relationship distress. I approach therapy from a gender-affirming, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lens. I use an integrative approach that incorporates strategies from humanistic, relational and evidence-based therapies. My style is engaging, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.

I'm a clinical psychologist (PhD 1994, U Michigan) with 30 years experience meeting with adolescents, adults from 18-90, and couples. My doctoral research focused on loss and the impact of parental divorce. During my 25 years here I've met with many Cornell students, undergrads and grads. I make use of various approaches (psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive-behavioral), depending on what makes most sense. Family difficulties, romantic relationships, stress of all sorts, procrastination, and being 'stuck' completing academic work are common situations for which I've provided help.

I specialize in therapy for young and emerging adult women with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and OCD to help them find balance and gain new perspectives on how they see the world and themselves. I challenge Perfectionists, Overthinkers, and People Pleasers to step out of their black-and-white thinking. In our work together, we’ll explore the patterns that have protected you in the past, dive deeper into your experiences, and notice the stories that your mind is telling you. We’ll work with both your mind and body, helping you tune into how your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses are connected. As an integrative therapist, I blend evidence-based practices with a human, relational approach—drawing from different modalities to meet you where you are and what you need most. My goal is to provide a balanced, trauma-informed, and holistic approach that addresses the whole person—mind, body, and emotions. If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, build healthier boundaries, strengthen your self-trust, and create more space for flexibility and self-compassion, feel free to reach out or schedule a free consultation through my website—I’d be honored to support you!
