I have more than twenty years of experience in full-time private practice, in which I enjoy working with students to help them gain greater understanding of their feelings so that they can achieve their goals and be their best selves. Whether you're struggling with a life transition, family/relationship issues, feelings of depression/anxiety, low self-esteem, a traumatic history or event, career or gender identity issues, I would love to help you navigate the quagmire of emotions and heal. Please view my website, and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions and to schedule an appointment.
I was called to this work at a young age after seeing that many people in my neighborhood in the Bronx and in my parents’ home country had no access to mental health care. I wanted to be able to provide mental health support to people from all walks of life. I received my bachelor's of science in psychology from Fordham University, where I subsequently completed my Master of Social Work degree. Following graduation, I became a family therapist, helping parents and youth work on complex family issues and conflict resolution. I worked in a variety of settings, including psychiatric residences, homeless outreach, New York City’s Administration for Children's Services, and a group psychotherapy practice in the Financial District. I currently provide individual psychotherapy as a private practitioner in addition to working at Montefiore Medical Center as a senior mental health specialist. I strive to create a welcoming environment from the very first session. I believe in forming a strong alliance with my clients to create a comfortable space to open up about personal struggles. Collaboration, humor, and validation are key components to my work. I guide people in learning skills that are applicable to everyday life. I was raised in a very racially, ethnically, and religiously diverse environment. Support of marginalized people is a core part of my worldview and translates into my practice. I enjoy working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and identities and helping them navigate the modern world.

Asking for help can be challenging, but change begins with you—a desire for more, starting with psychotherapy. With 10 years of experience, I support adults and the elderly, including those transitioning from nursing homes to community living. I offer emotional support and resources for readjustment. My services include care coordination and supportive psychotherapy for PTSD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, family conflict, grief, and LGBTQ issues. I specialize in clients with medical diagnoses, aging, caretakers, and those navigating life transitions, particularly within the South Asian experience.
I love my work and look forward to helping people who are looking to make their lives just a bit sunnier. We all have struggles but they don't have to weigh us down to the point where it is hard to let in joy, happiness and fulfillment. I work with clients to develop acheivable goals using my available tools as a therapist such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Yoga Therapy where appropriate. I see people of both sexes and all ages but seem to have developed a specialty of working with people in their 20s and 30s.

I believe who you are matters. You’re a deep feeler, a critical thinker, & someone who’s carried a lot for a long time. Perhaps you are the “black sheep”, someone who has felt unseen, unheard, or unworthy for most of your life. You’ve learned how to keep going, but lately, you’re exhausted. You’re realizing that surviving isn’t enough anymore. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, dissociation, grief, identity transitions, or complex trauma. You may feel stuck in cycles of self-abandonment, masking, or perfectionism. You want to feel safe in your body, connected to your truth, & be free to live more fully - not just function. You’re looking for a therapist who is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and deeply attuned to the realities of navigating systems that weren’t built for you. You want support that’s holistic, anti-oppressive, and rooted in nervous system regulation, attachment work, and deep respect for your autonomy. I work from a trauma-informed, shame-sensitive, and strengths-based lens. I draw on your values, your lived experiences, and your inner resilience to co-create a path toward healing. I help clients break out of survival mode, heal from internalized shame and systemic harm, and reconnect with a sense of safety, authenticity, and agency.
When you’re craving real change but feel stuck—whether it’s anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, or a big life transition—you deserve a therapist who truly hears you. Someone who doesn’t judge, who offers tools you can actually use, and who helps you understand the deeper patterns shaping your thoughts and emotions. My clients often want to feel more grounded, strengthen their relationships, build confidence, and move through life with more clarity and direction. Most of all, they want to feel more like themselves again—or discover who they’re becoming. My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I draw from CBT, DBT, and person-centered therapy to help you make sense of what you’re going through, develop effective coping skills, and move toward the life you want. I believe therapy should feel empowering—a space where you can show up as you are and be met with respect, compassion, and curiosity. Whether you’re looking for guidance, a place to process, or support in making meaningful changes, I’m here to help you move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is collaborative and caring. I work with anyone experiencing stress or difficulty adjusting to new situations. I also specialize in trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression and relationship challenges.
“I want to feel happier and less depressed.” “We would like to improve our relationship.” “I would like to feel calmer and more in control, in spite of the stress, loss and trauma I have experienced.” “We want to help our children cope with our divorce.” “We need to figure out how we are going to live as a divorced family.” These are some of the most frequent goals of my clients as we work together. Many of the stresses and conflicts my clients face can be due to life’s experiences and losses or can come from within. Stress and conflict can lead to disintegration of relationships with our partners and our children, and even in how we view ourselves. Strengthening coping skills, emotional connection and intimacy can help repair fractures, increase compassionate understanding, and build closeness. Focusing on positive growth, shifting well-engrained patterns, and building greater self-acceptance can create lasting change and happiness. As a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience, I help adults, couples and families, by integrating many different therapeutic approaches to best fit my clients’ needs.
