Eudaemonia Equine Connections, Inc. (EEC Inc.)'s Equine-Assisted Mental Health (EAMH) Treatment for Stability and Wellness Clinical Program is a behavioral health program offering outpatient psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups. Equine-Assisted Mental Health (EAMH) is a specialized psychotherapy treatment that incorporates equines into the therapeutic environment. It is a form of animal-assisted therapy (AAT) that integrates the human–animal bond and relationship with a horse as part of treatment and recovery in psychotherapy. EAMH treatment is an interactive process in which a licensed mental health professional working with or as an appropriately credentialed equine professional partners with suitable equine(s) to address psychotherapy goals set forth by the mental health professional and the client. EAMH is all about learning how to communicate, interact, and connect with horses directly and indirectly during psychotherapy work. Horses are beautiful and novel creatures that may help reduce stigma of psychotherapy, reduce barriers of those who do not do well or do not want to participate in office-based therapy. In turn, they may help to normalize the therapy process through in-person physical interaction and presence with horses. At EEC Inc., EAMH clinical psychotherapy interventions provided include psychosocial techniques (interpersonal interaction, learning experiences, role playing practice, relationship building, and coping skills) to reduce distress, maladaptive behavior, and psychological and psychiatric problems and to enhance adaptive functioning and positive experiences in everyday life. -Strong focus on present-moment awareness, experiential learning, and the integration of the mind-body-spirit connection. -Way to work in relationship building -Real-time learning through experience Clinician: Dr. Rebecca Wara-Goss, LMFT, Ph.D., CTRI, ESMHL, is the Founder/Executive Director of Eudaemonia Equine Connections, Inc., Lead Therapist for equine-assisted mental health (EAMH) direct clinical services; and principal researcher and consultant for EAMH research design and consultation services. I am a registered LPC and Clinical Art Therapist. I use art and talk therapy to support healing and positive change. I love working with individuals who are processing life challenges that are impacting their quality of existence, whether they are internal feeling or body states and/or external experiences impacting growth and functioning. I see counseling or therapy as an active, collaborative process. I consider it an honor to go on that journey with clients and build a working relationship focused on understanding the process of change and growth, whatever the context and conditions affecting it. I believe we can learn how to best understand our personal situation from a place of acceptance and gratitude, and how to make the most skillful decisions to best enable us to utilize a sense of purpose and maintain appreciation of ourselves and the world around us. I believe in a client centered approach and utilize various treatment modalities to best serve each one.

Being part of the interconnected natural world, we thrive in connection, and without connection, we wither. In our work together we will collaborate in understanding what makes you come alive and wither, to look for ways to get unstuck and make meaning of your emotions, reactivity, and suffering. I believe that individuals and families can tap into their inner strength to repair and grow new resilience with guidance and support. My role is to restore balance, build communication, and provide support to help you create space to learn and integrate new skills with new perspectives as they thrive in connection. I am here to create a space for you to explore, to collaborate with you to make meaning of your challenges and stories. I am a systemic and integrated therapist using various modalities to look at every aspect of a person’s life to understand their lived experiences better. I am trained to utilize EMDR to help with PTSD and other trauma-related disturbances. Being an immigrant myself, raising children, and building a place of my own as a BIPOC therapist while navigating different life stages and challenges, I am familiar with the tension that arises from differences in cultural/generational values and bicultural experiences. Ultimately, I want to support and empower you on your journey to be you. Additionally, I have 20 years of experience as a teacher of K-12 & College-age students to draw on to help me in our collaboration. Contact me, now!

Our lived experiences shape the world around us and how we interact with it. Therefore, I believe understanding someone’s story is instrumental in any therapeutic process. Therapy is meant to help someone heal, build skills, break out of patterns, and gain further insights into oneself. It’s an investment in yourself so that you can have a future not burdened in anguish. As someone who identifies as multiracial, I have firsthand knowledge about the intersectionality of race and culture. I honor each person in front of me and foster a space that is safe where healing can take place. I use a strengths-based approach and pull from different evidence-based modalities such as DBT, CBT, and CPS. Treatment is individualized for the person, not to fit in a box. I have several years working as a clinician within a variety of health care settings with the most recent being with adolescents and adults in acute care settings. In addition, I have experience working with first responders and healthcare professionals.

I, along with my dog, specialize in working with men aged 18 to mid-30s with an ADHD diagnosis, navigating a world built for "neurotypical" people and experiencing the frustrations, uncertainty, and confusion that comes with it. I frequently work with men to address issues related to stress, worry, emotional sensitivity and reactivity, anger, irritability, rejection and self-doubt, motivation, and relationships. I emphasize the mind-body connection, mindfulness, lifestyle design, healthy communication with self and others, and understanding your story - what makes you you, and why. My sincere hope is to help you find ways to heal and learn from the past, find peace and contentment in the present, and embrace the future with optimism. I grew up in the Midwest, earned my masters at Columbia University in New York, and found a home in Portland. Among other things, I am a father, a step-father, a son, a step-son, a husband, a brother, a step-brother, a grandson, an uncle, a friend, and a client (I have a therapist, too!). Along with my formal education and professional experience, these roles and relationships shape my practice more than I can possibly imagine. Go Blazers!

Hi, I’m Sara Carmona (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon and Colorado and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist (PMH-C). I’ve been providing mental health support since 2011, with a focus on perinatal and reproductive mental health. I work with people across the full span of their reproductive lives—from menarche to menopause. This includes support for fertility challenges, pregnancy and postpartum, birth trauma, abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, birth trauma, and postpartum psychosis recovery. I work with individuals navigating the spectrum of premenstrual mood disorders and perimenopause/ menopause-related changes. My approach is collaborative and relational. I believe healing happens through support, connection, conversation and the sharing of practical tools that make a difference in daily life. I draw from evidence-based therapeutic interventions while centering your lived experience, strengths, and goals. Together, we’ll explore what’s hard, build insight, and identify steps that feel manageable and meaningful. I practice from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist framework and value the unique identities and lived experiences of each person I work with. River City Counseling LLC welcomes individuals of all cultures, races, abilities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I am open to coordinating care with your medical team, family, or other individuals you'd like to involve in your counseling services.

I’m a licensed professional counselor working with individuals and couples. My style is laid back, collaborative, and incorporates evidence-based practices in an approach to healing, learning life skills, and self-discovery. I believe this leads us to live healthy, fulfilling, and meaningful lives. Working with both individuals and couples, my expertise lies in anxiety, divorce and relationship issues as well as working with those going through life transitions or interested in personal or professional growth. There are times in all of our lives where we are faced with a crisis of emotional, mental or spiritual unease and I believe we all have the capacity for healing and self-growth. When we find ourselves at these crossroads finding support in a safe and non-judgmental environment can be of great help. Wherever you are in your personal journey I understand it takes courage to reach out and I feel privileged and humbled to walk with you through that transition. My philosophy encompasses elements of both Gestalt and Existentialism and I seek to connect all facets of a person’s world (the family they grew up in, their gender, faith, culture, education, age, etc.) as I believe that each person has inherent worth and the capacity to grow toward personal fulfillment.

I help adults, couples, and families who feel trapped in a cycle of loneliness and disconnection, cut off from themselves, and unhappy with the trajectory of their relationships and life goals. I have also been an instructor and lecturer at various universities and colleges for over 12 years and understand the unique stress students face in situations such as navigating relationships within student cohort communities, dealing with out-of-touch professors and administration, facing non-exclusive environments, and dealing with staff and student health services. I prioritize confidentiality and privacy, helping you access available services with confidence and make informed decisions about your college experience without regretting the sacrifices you make to attend college. I have over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and dance movement therapist, specializing in treating anxiety, depression, loneliness, intimacy, communication problems, learning differences, self-esteem, health issues, life transitions, grief & loss, professional/work issues, and family and relationship stress and estrangement, ensuring comprehensive support for your unique needs. My work involves creating a safe, neutral space where we can engage in open dialogue and work systematically with empathy toward healing, growth, and solutions, guiding you through a clear, collaborative process. I enjoy working with people who are nervous about beginning therapy or have never participated in couples or family estrangement counseling.
