The Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center of Philadelphia (AOTCP) specializes in providing compassionate and effective treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and various anxiety disorders. We work with many anxious students in the area, providing tailored therapy to address a spectrum of OCD and anxiety related disorders commonly experienced by students. In addition to OCD and generalized anxiety, we help with related challenges such as test/performance anxiety, social anxiety and social skill impairments, maladaptive perfectionism, executive functioning difficulties, and other forms of neurodiversity. We use evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help students manage their symptoms and relate to their emotions differently, ultimately helping them more deeply engage in college life.

I mostly work with people in their 20s and 30s who experience depression and anxiety or need help navigating substance use, self-esteem, body image, identity development, sexuality, and interpersonal relationships. Life is full of highs and lows, and it is through these experiences and emotions that we grow. I have experience working in the collegiate counseling setting, helping students navigate anxiety, depression, adjustment, and substance use issues. IOP Sanare Today is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that provides group treatment for individuals in crisis or who are struggling with maintaining emotional stability. We offer both mental health and substance use groups. Groups are held 4 days a week to provide more support and direction than traditional outpatient care. IOP groups are provided separately for adolescents and adults. The IOP is an effective step down transition for individuals coming out of a hospital or as a preventive measure to inpatient treatment. Each group session runs for 2 ¼ hours. Family support groups are scheduled weekly or every other week. Sanare Today offers day and evening programs in several different office locations. Life Coaching Sanare Today also offers life coaching. Sanare Today Life Coaching provides guidance for day to day living as well as therapeutic technique implementation. It involves working with adolescents and adults struggling to thrive at their ideal capacity. The core process involves mainly individual, but at times, group sessions. The coaching plan is determined through the collaboration of the client, the coach and the referring provider (if applicable). Each session runs for a total of 60 minutes, unless predetermined otherwise. Sanare Today Life Coaching is designed for individuals who would benefit from more experiential services instead of, or in addition to, traditional mental health or substance use treatment. Life coaching is an effective step down from the intensive outpatient program and an effective addition to individual, one-on-one treatment.

Hi, I‘m Chaise (He/Him), a student therapist under supervision as I complete my Master’s in Couples and Family Therapy. I recently moved to Philadelphia and spent most of my life living in a rural area before I moved. My journey towards becoming a therapist has been shaped by my life experiences and a desire to help people understand and cope with things that they experience. When I was studying psychology at Millersville University, I knew I wanted to be a therapist but struggled trying to figure out how I wanted to help people. Through the classes I took and internships I did I realized that the area I really wanted to focus on was sexuality and creating a space where people can feel safe and comfortable talking about any aspect that they want/need to. I’m especially drawn to working with people who are in the LGBTQ+ community as well as people or couples who are struggling with issues related to kinks and fetishes and/or sex addiction. One of my personal philosophies is that these topics needs a safe space to be talked about whether it be needing support while you explore your sexual identity or wanting additional support while you and your partner(s) discuss boundaries or discuss what you desire from each other sexually. My life experiences have helped me to understand that each person’s lived experiences are unique to them and so what may help one person might not help someone else. I try to bring this understanding with me into each session so I can try to support each client to the best of my ability while still trying to stay true to myself.

Many of my patients are people with multicultural/multiracial families and relationships, immigrants or the adult children of immigrants, people of Asian descent, graduate students, clinicians, or people who still feel empty and unsatisfied after achieving conventional hallmarks of success. Many have experienced shifts in class and/or religious identity who are looking to more deeply understand how their experience of depression, anxiety, or trauma is tied to these transgenerational and cross-cultural forces. With empathy and care, I will partner with you to explore your life, history, culture(s), and the wider world to see how these shape your inner experiences and relationships. In addition to feeling better, my hope is to help you to discover and create new ways of being in the world that feel more alive, flexible, authentic, resilient, and effective. Many people have mixed feelings about starting therapy and finding the right fit is so important for meaningful and long-lasting changes. If this profile has resonated with you in some way, there are no fees or commitments for the initial consultation. If you'd like to meet and learn more, please reach out today or visit my website.

Going to college may feel like it is supposed to be one of the most exciting times in your life. Leaving home, starting an independent life and creating connections with people from all over the world sounds great, right? But, it is also one of the more challenging times in life from a developmental stance. Family relations feel different, making friends can be challenging in a larger setting, academics are rigorous and there is a struggle to know who you 'really are.' On top of that, differences between you and others on identity dimensions can have you re-examining where you fit into the larger world around you. I am here to help guide you through this time so that you can work through unpleasant feelings while simultaneously feeling more confident in the person you are becoming and wish to be.
