We started this practice because we love what we do: helping people grow. Here at Blue Creek, we offer individual, couples and family therapy. We serve children through geriatric populations. In addition, we offer comprehensive psychological testing services. We bring decades of collective service and want to offer you a unique therapeutic experience from beginning to end. Our immediate goal is for you to feel welcomed from your first contact with our office.
Lighthouse Family Counseling serves children ages 6 years and up, adolescents, families, couples, adults, and seniors. Lighthouse accepts insurance. Lighthouse Family Counseling has a total of sixteen counselors, each ranging in experience. Many have licenses and more than 15 to 25 years in the field. We have a variety of counselors with a range of experiences and backgrounds. Our counselors vary in ages which is a benefit to the population that we serve. Every counselor brings their own unique background of expertise to the group; for example, trauma work, LGBTQ+ focused care, CBT, solution focused, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, DBT, men's issues, women's issues, etc. Our counselors work a hybrid model of office and telehealth, while a few counselors prefer telehealth only. Lighthouse Family Counseling is open by appointment only 7 days a week based on the counselor's availability, 9am to 8pm.

We simply need a guide to help us discover the path forward. That is where Forward Path Counseling can help. We have assembled a team of therapists that offer a complementary set of skills and training, each with unique specialties that fit together so we can offer a well balanced treatment approach to many of the challenges life might present. This offers our clients the opportunity, when it is necessary, to receive coordinated treatment from multiple professionals all within the same practice. College is an exciting time though it can be an overwhelming one as well. College comes with its own unique set of challenges - increased workload, the need for greater time management, increased independence, and trying to find a good work-life balance, to name a few. College life can bring on new anxiety or exacerbate pre-existing anxiety, and managing this and coping in healthy and effective ways can prove difficult at times. Anxiety and stress can also trigger new or worsen pre-existing Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), like excoriation disorder (skin picking) and trichotillomania (hair pulling). If you are a female student struggling with anxiety and need help managing it, and/or are having a difficult time with BFRBs, I would love to work with you. Together we will work on identifying stressors/triggers as well as strategies and skills you can use to better manage your anxiety and/or your BFRB. I look forward to meeting you!

In therapy, I strive to create space where clients may explore their inner landscapes and make sense of themselves in their relationships and larger social contexts. I believe that most people have parts of themselves that are affirmed and other parts that have gone underground — perhaps as a result of relational injury, lack of environmental mirroring, or trauma. I seek to develop a supportive relationship where clients can begin to see the unseen and speak the unspeakable and, with self compassion and courage, work to integrate those parts and reduce suffering and experience deeper connection and meaning. That describes, in part, the process of exploratory therapy but what is a session actually like? We talk. People share their stories— maybe the latest relationship entanglement, feeling burdened with perfectionism, dissecting a racial microaggression that happened in class, or a painful memory from elementary school. I’m curious about nuance and felt experience and I reflect and ask questions to help deepen understanding. I work through psychodynamic, intersectional, and multicultural lenses. I have worked extensively with undergraduate and graduate students in both domestic and international settings. And, I have experience working with a range of presenting concerns including anxiety, stress, complex identity, immigration, and loss. I’ve been described as kind, patient, inquisitive, and discerning. Prior to moving to Princeton in 2015, I lived in China for five years during which I worked as a therapist at Community Center Shanghai and NYU Shanghai. I am originally from Taiwan and immigrated to the US as a child. My biracial and bicultural heritage along with my immigrant and expatriate experiences have created a particular interest in working with international students, immigrants, people who identify as mixed race, and students either preparing for or returning from studying abroad. My private practice is conveniently located walking distance from Princeton University campus on 344 Nassau Street. I work extensively with graduate and undergraduate students and accept PU student health insurance (students are responsible for their $10 copay).
