I believe therapy works best as a safe and supportive partnership. Through a trusted therapeutic relationship, I aim to create a space where you can gain insight into the areas that may be keeping you stuck. I see every client as more than a diagnosis and strive to meet you where you are while guiding you toward meaningful change. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, college students, and young adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I support clients as they navigate overwhelming emotions and worries, attention and executive functioning challenges, identity exploration, interpersonal struggles, and adapting to adulthood. Together, we’ll set goals that fit your unique needs and work to build insight, healthier patterns, and practical skills that reduce stress and support a more fulfilling life. My approach blends evidence-based therapies—including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, TF-CBT, and Structural Family Therapy—with compassion and care, tailoring strategies to each individual. I welcome feedback on which interventions you find most helpful and adapt sessions to ensure your needs are met. It’s a privilege to do this work, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re already dealing with stress, anxiety, or big life transitions. I work with students and young adults who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next steps. My approach is warm, supportive, and practical. Together, we’ll focus on helping you better understand yourself, manage stress, and build confidence in your decisions and relationships. I have experience working closely with students and families as a school counselor, and I understand the unique pressures that come with academics, relationships, and life changes. I offer a free initial consultation and accept insurance through Headway to make getting started as easy as possible.
Hi, I’m Marlena. Being a college student can feel like a nonstop mix of pressure, expectations, and “why am I like this?” moments. I work with students who feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck—especially when school, relationships, and life transitions start piling up all at once. My style is warm, collaborative, and very real. I focus on helping you understand what’s actually going on in your mind and body (hello, nervous system), so you can learn tools that help you feel more grounded, regulated, and in control—not just during sessions, but in your day-to-day life. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy. If you’re looking for a space that feels supportive, nonjudgmental, and practical, I’d love to work with you.

My clients are young women who are emotionally intelligent and highly self-aware; however, they still struggle with feelings of unworthiness and feel alone as they present to the world as "high-functioning." I help my clients make sense of the mismatch between what they “know” and what they feel and to move from surviving to thriving. My therapeutic style focuses on cultivating self-compassion and curiosity to offset the judgment we often use when relating to ourselves. A client of mine will hear me say, “All behavior makes sense, in context.” My aim is to be curious about your context to help you to see just how much you and your present experience makes sense.
Hi! I'm so glad you made it here. Maybe you are exploring what it means to live authentically. Perhaps you have some old wounds that never quite healed and are sneaking their way into your present, in the form of depression, anxiety, PTSD, or addiction. Having worked with diverse clients with varying backgrounds and experiences, I believe that every client is unique and that you are ultimately the expert on yourself, which is something I will incorporate in my work with you. I offer an eclectic approach that can differ from client to client depending on their personal needs and will often include some combination of different evidence-based practices. Wherever you are on your own personal journey, I will work at your pace and bring non-judgmental warmth to each session while I strive to provide a caring atmosphere where you can feel safe. No one can embark on the journey of life for you, but you don't have to do it alone. If that all sounds good to you, reach out to schedule a free 10-15 minute consultation.
