Hope, healing, and joy. For me, these are the three core values I hold closely when approaching my work in therapy. Life can be full of unpredictable challenges and facing them alone can feel extremely heavy and burdensome. My hope is that through therapy, clients can feel comfortable enough to share their hardships, and in doing so, lighten the heaviness of their burdens. Through a warm, person-centered approach, I hope to create a space where individuals feel heard and supported. I believe no one deserves to struggle alone, and I commit to being a supportive presence to help individuals work towards a path of healing and joy. As a therapist, my ultimate goal is to help individuals feel empowered to live a fulfilling life in alignment with their goals and values. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and adjustment difficulties. I also love helping people work through identity exploration and self-discovery. If these challenges resonate with you, I would be honored to work together on a path forward that feels supportive and impactful for you!
I want you to know this therapy will acknowledge the very real challenges you face that are NOT just in your head. If you've been left out, excluded, and the people around you don't understand, you have every right to be angry, hurt and lonely. Do the people in your life expect you to conform or “fix your problem” and make you feel like a burden for having needs? Have you started to believe the negative messages; started believe you're lazy, not good enough or a burden? I offer support for folks who are going through it. You deserve full access to therapy, please don't hesitate to let me know how I can best support. For example: lying down during session to ease fatigue, video forms instead of words on paper. If you're not sure what you need, we can explore this together and find out what works best for you. You can email me at Schedule@BodyMindAllianceCC.com or you can reach me by phone at 215-259-8016. Note: Your gender identity, pronouns and sexual/affectional orientation will be respected and honored without making therapy “all about your identity” unless that is what you want or need. (Image alt text: Photograph of Kasryn Kapp seated wearing a blue jumpsuit smiling) Please don't hesitate to reach out with any accessibility needs. I offer online therapy with Closed Captions (you can turn this feature off or on)

Being human can be confusing, overwhelming and painful. Despite this predicament, I believe therapy can help shed the feeling of a constricted life and achieve an authentic and empowered sense of self. Through a collaborative and compassion-centered approach, I aim to help hold in a non-judgmental space the challenging parts of life and encourage next steps in your journey. The technique I use most often is trauma-sensitive mindfulness combined with concepts and methods from CBT, DBT and MI while applying lenses such as attachment, familial, cultural, generational and that of global systems.
Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety? Stuck in OCD rituals? Struggling to balance school, relationships, family expectations, and everything else that comes with being a young adult? Maybe you’re navigating a difficult transition, questioning who you are, or feeling like you’re supposed to have everything figured out. Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I work with college students and young adults navigating OCD, anxiety, trauma, relationship and friendship struggles, family conflict, self-esteem, and life transitions. College can be an exciting time, but it can also bring pressure, uncertainty, and challenges that are difficult to manage on your own. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I meet each client where they are and tailor treatment to what actually works for them. Together, we will focus on understanding your emotions, managing anxiety and overwhelming thoughts, building confidence, strengthening relationships, and developing coping skills that you can carry with you beyond college. Therapy can also be a space to explore your values, identity, boundaries, and the kind of life you want to create for yourself. To guide my work, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I also use Brainspotting to support clients in processing trauma and experiences that may feel difficult to access through traditional talk therapy alone. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whatever you’re carrying, my goal is to help you build a life that feels steady, fulfilling, and fully yours.
College is this interesting time of transition where you are given an opportunity to explore independence away from your parents, hometown, and all that feels comfortable. But for many, this independence and freedom can be lonely, confusing and downright uncomfortable. You may feel like you are not cut out to succeed in such a high pressure environment. Decisions can seem overwhelming. Am I in the right major? What internship should I choose? Should I study abroad? Do I need to take a semester off? How do I manage my money? The pressure to perform academically can be intense and feel overwhelming. Picking a major, choosing classes, second guessing your decisions, and simply managing time and assignments can feel insurmountable. If you previously struggled with time management or organization, you may find your safety net is now far away and now your grades are suffering. I have worked with many students just like you. I work to treat a range on issues that get in the way of optimal academic performance - from depression to anxiety to ADHD. I further specialize in working with students who are also parents. Parenting young children while working towards your degree is no small feat. Pregnancy and/or postpartum during graduate school is challenging but together we can get through it. What inspires you? What scares you? What do you sometimes avoid thinking or feeling? I provide supportive and challenging psychotherapy for clients interested in identifying their complex narratives. We will search for the patterns and themes that are creating barriers to healing, and we will locate those that enhance your ability to live authentically. My social worker lense leads me to work with you to name and examine the societal systems most impacting you. In psychotherapy, we will work to help discover your truths as a way to live more authentically, and as a result, feel less burdened by anxiety, depression, fear, or uncertainty. I practice with a non-judgmental stance, deep compassion, and reverence for patiently letting our work unfold as trust develops. My social justice values are reflected in the therapeutic space that we co-create as I work to validate intersecting identities, continue my commitment to anti-racist work, and to practice queer-affirming and neurodivergent-affirming care. I work comfortably with a wide range of clients due to my experience in schools, community mental health, and as a group facilitator.

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Larsen Avnet and I’m a clinical psychologist licensed in Pennsylvania. I am passionate about helping people better understand themselves. I aim to help clients understand their emotions, body, and relationships within a space where clients feel seen, heard, and free to be their authentic selves as we work towards healing. If you are struggling to understand yourself, feeling disconnected from others, experiencing conflict or challenges in your relationship, having a hard time with transitions, stress, or life changes, I am here to walk alongside you as you find your way.

I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and hold credentials as both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have been in the field a little over 10 years and have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns; including depression, anxiety, identity formation, crisis management, addiction, and life transitions. My counseling style is very person-first and engaging. I believe in incorporating different therapeutic techniques in order to meet you exactly where you are during each interaction. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused techniques. My goal is to have you feel comfortable and help guide you to develop healthy skills that encourage empowerment and self-discovery. Outside of my career, I am an animal lover that enjoys traveling. I enjoy being physically active and believe the best gifts are those you can experience! I am a fan of all Italian food and find comfort relaxing while watching a good movie or reading a thrilling book. I strongly advocate the concept of self-care and overall life balance. I understand how vulnerable and overwhelming it can feel to seek counseling and I appreciate the courage my clients display by doing so. I hope to support and provide encouragement as we begin this process together. I believe that every individual has the ability to overcome struggles and learn how to highlight their strengths that they may not even be aware they have! I look forward to working with you!
