Psychologist
In-Person & Online
Cambridge, MA

About Me / Specialties I am a licensed psychologist specializing in treating adolescents and young adults with OCD, anxiety (including social anxiety, panic, phobias, and generalized anxiety), and related conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania, tics, and excoriation disorder. I provide evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I see clients in-person in Cambridge, MA and virtually throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Texas, Missouri, and Kansas. I also work with parents, offering coaching to help support their teen or young adult while reducing family accommodations. My goal is to create a compassionate, collaborative space where we take mental health seriously—but not ourselves too seriously. A little humor can go a long way in therapy! Treatment Approach I tailor treatment to each individual, often addressing co-occurring concerns like depression, eating issues, or trauma alongside anxiety or OCD. Using ERP, CBT, ACT, and DBT strategies, I help students manage symptoms, regulate emotions, and make meaningful, lasting changes—all in a supportive and approachable way. Training & Experience I earned my PhD from the University of Virginia, completed my clinical internship at Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for OCD and Related Disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where I currently see therapy patients and conduct research on OCD spectrum disorders.

I’m Zac. My pronouns are they/them. I am a queer, nonbinary, and neurodivergent therapist and creative. I believe strongly in the power of connection, prioritizing things we enjoy, and maintaining curiosity, and those values guide my time with clients. I have years of experience working with college students of all ages and I'm passionate about offering support during an exciting, overwhelming time. I specialize in supporting LGBTQIA+ folks; individuals with Autism, ADHD, and/or Neurodivergence; those with interpersonal and chronic trauma, and those new to therapy. My hope for our time together is that you feel seen and heard, that you don’t worry about being judged or rejected—any of the feelings that make it difficult to speak up in life! Removing those barriers makes so much possible. I incorporate Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), mindfulness, realistic self-care, social justice and feminist theory, creative expression, creative coping strategies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), safety planning, and fat & body liberation work. Ultimately, how I approach our sessions will be tailored to you.

College is supposed to be an exciting time, but sometimes it just feels like a lot of pressure. Between keeping up with classes, balancing relationships, and trying to meet everyone’s expectations, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in your own head. I help college students navigate anxiety, academic pressure, relationship stress, and uncertainty about what comes next. Therapy with me isn’t just talking about your feelings, and it’s not about being told what you should do. It’s a collaborative process where we make sense of what’s going on, look at the patterns that keep showing up, and figure out what’s driving them so they don’t keep running the show. Together, we’ll work toward goals that matter to you and find practical ways to approach your thoughts, decisions, and relationships differently. Over time, you can develop more confidence in yourself, a clearer sense of direction, and tools for handling whatever comes your way.

I believe therapy is a space for growth and change that can lead to stronger relationships, healthier ways of functioning, and a deeper sense of well-being. In our work together, I’ll bring empathy, respect, and genuine care. My role is to support you in becoming more self-aware and confident, while helping you make the changes you want to see in your life. To me, therapy is a collaborative process. I’m not here to "fix" you, but to walk alongside you as a guide, a support, and sometimes just a steady presence while you navigate life’s challenges. I truly believe that everyone has the ability to grow and the responsibility to pursue that growth when they’re ready. I also believe our relationships with family, partners, friends, or chosen community play a huge role in our overall well-being. When those connections feel off or strained, it can affect so many other areas of life. Whether we're working one-on-one, with a couple, or with a family, I take a systemic approach to understand the bigger picture and help shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck. And I know that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find what feels right for you. Most importantly, I’ll offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard. Solutions not band-aids, because clients deserve more than just the alleviation of symptoms. Treatment should be customized to meet the needs of the clients, because although more than one client may have a similar diagnosis everyone should be treated as an individual. For those interested in a higher standard of care whether you are managing stress, struggles with sleep, depression, anxiety, or another mental health challenge feel free to contact me via email to set up a consultation. If you are at this website you have already taken a step in the process towards change, so let's take the next step together.

I help high achieving and sensitive women to stop doubting themselves and start feeling grounded and confident. Often, I work with people who are tired of keeping it all together and holding things in. People like you who are done putting themselves last and ready to step into themselves and own their worth. Perfectionists who are ready to let go of having to be perfect all the time. Maybe you’re always the one people can count on, yet you have a hard time accepting help from others. Or you feel as though something is weighing you down, though you can’t quite pinpoint what it is. You look like you have it all together from the outside but you aren’t satisfied with your relationships and know there is more to life. You long to feel seen, heard and understood. Together, we will create space for you to get in touch with yourself and your needs. In working with me, people find themselves having the confidence to make decisions that align with their values and lead to desired change. In sessions, I strive to create a space for people to feel seen, heard and understood on a deep level, with the opportunity and safety to explore their inner worlds. I create offerings that encourage growth, self-discovery and healing through the practices of talk-therapy, EMDR, self-compassion, mindfulness, the Enneagram and yoga.

Most people who contact me are dealing with a relationship that feels stuck. The same argument keeps coming back, trust has been damaged, or they are trying to make sense of what happened. I work with couples and with individual adults dealing with betrayal, trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, and questions involving faith or religious harm. My style is steady and direct. I want us to understand what is happening and decide what needs to change outside the session. Therapy is entirely online for clients in Florida, Texas, Utah, and Arizona.

I do trauma therapy using multiple techniques but emphasizing EMDR, the most powerful and effective treatment for trauma. Life is tough, but it is tougher when you are burdened with emotional triggers from past trauma. I love working with gen Z; you are young and EMDR is remarkably effective in treating trauma symptoms in younger brains. It is a joy to see you freed from the burden of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and difficulties with emotion regulation. Please check out my website below for further information on EMDR.
