Therapists for college students near Austin, TX
I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in helping adults who struggle with self-esteem, cultural and identity concerns, relationship issues, trauma recovery, as well as depression and anxiety. During the course of therapy, while you can expect me to be supportive of you, it's also my pledge to not shy away from challenging you to make changes when appropriate. Together, we will partner up to explore what works for you and your unique situation. Let's talk.
Since 2006, I have worked as a counselor in Louisiana (LPC 3780), Kansas (LCPC 2416), Virginia (LPC 0701008990), and Texas (LPC 86508). Currently, I work with adults who feel stuck whether navigating anxiety, depression, CPTSD, trauma, family challenges, identity, or major transitions. They want relief, self-understanding, hope, and healthier ways to cope. Most of all, they want to feel heard, supported, and capable of moving forward with confidence. I specialize in working with diverse clients, including military families, trauma survivors, those managing both mental health, and substance use. My humanistic, collaborative style helps you uncover strengths, build resilience, and develop practical tools. Together, we’ll create space for healing and real change. I know reaching out takes courage and you don’t have to do it alone. In our work, we’ll honor your unique experiences and create a safe space to explore challenges at your pace. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in your journey toward growth.

Welcome - I'm Kate! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Katie Nix, MA, LPC- Supervisor. I work at The Well Therapy Group in uptown Dallas and have the privilege of working with adolescent and young adult women on their healing journey. Do you ever feel unheard, unseen, or misunderstood? Maybe even hurt by cliche responses you hear in your life such as “everything happens for a reason,” or “everything will be ok” or “you’re strong and you’ll get through this.” Are you feeling anxious or overthinking and playing scenarios in your mind? Questioning whether if this is the right decision and how it would impact your life? Worried about disappointing others as expectations were placed upon you. Or wondering if this is the right degree program for me? Maybe not recognizing yourself anymore. Overwhelmed by the pressure of life that it's difficult to be motivated. Not knowing what the future holds can be a scary feeling. I would like to come alongside you on this journey to help you to have a renewed and empowered life. Imagine being free from shame or guilt to be who you want to be. To feel confident in your decision making. Being able to let go of others' expectations that were placed on you. To be able to live in the present moment and be at peace of the unknown. You can expect to walk away from our sessions feeling heard, validated, and encouraged. If you are looking for someone that relates to you as an Asian American, or a first generation college student/graduate, please reach out to book a free 15 minute phone consultation to get to know a little about each other and ask any questions you may have. It would be an honor to partner with you in your healing.
Our time together will be spent figuring the aspects- emotional, intellectual, sensory-based, and behavioral- of life through out your own story. Growing into learning how to listen to yourself so you can trust what it is you know, and what it is you need will be at the core of each session so that the feelings of stress, overwhelm, anxiousness, depression no longer keep you detached from yourself. The tools I use are done with cultural considerations, and by acknowledging the extra burdens social constructs and systemic environments put on you. I start with listening and being a witness to your story. With your consent, I use therapeutic tools to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with children, teens, adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD). All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to “get it right!” A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world. I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Stamatis Bogdanos, LPC-S | #64556 in Houston, Tx. It’s time to build a loving relationship with yourself. Here’s the good news: you don’t have to do this on your own. Contact me today to get started!
Dr. Rademan starts treatment with a thorough and detailed inventory of life experiences that could be contributing to current concerns. She also explores body pain and chronic health concerns as those can be impacted by trauma and emotional wounding. Just like with physical health, mental health can be impacted by earlier 'injuries' that flare up later in life. Many people have been in and out of therapy throughout their life and haven't found sustained relief due to not healing the root issue or concern. At the foundation of treatment, Dr. Rademan utilizes a trauma and cognitive focused framework. Trauma is not only major violence or death, but can also be a loss of a relationship, not getting your needs met when you were a child, or ongoing major stressors. Trauma can be described as anything that significantly changed the way you view yourself or the world.
I offer patient-centered, trauma-informed, evidence-based care to guide you on your journey to mental wellness. With a collaborative and personalized approach, I cater to individuals of all ages and various mental health conditions. If these experiences resonate with you and you're ready for positive change, don't hesitate to reach out. Taking the first step towards healing is commendable, and it's always the right time to work towards a better version of yourself. Available in person in Houston, TX and virtually in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Texas, Kansas, Arizona, Delaware, and Montana.
College can be a hard transition for some. Making new friends, trying to figure out what you want to study for a career or even navigating the college campus and system. This is also a time where you are leaving a known family system and trying on new thoughts and values. This can all lead to anxiety, depression or stress. I am here to help you navigate this journey with you. I want to give you a safe space to share your struggles, and explore tools that can help you through this time.
We are not biologically wired to cope with life alone. Even if we are not "alone" sometimes the ones we love lack the ability to fully support or understand us. Even if they may be a solid part of our support system. This is where therapy comes in. I specialize in guiding individuals through the intricate terrain of strong emotions. I have completed extensive training and research on healing strategies targeted for those trying to heal from adverse life experiences, trauma, ptsd, c-ptsd (attatchment/early childhood wounds) anxiety, depression, anger, and borderline personality disorder. **Treatment Modalities:** I am trained in EMDR, designed to reduce emotional distress due to traumatic life experiences. I also have special training in its use for helping those with borderline personality disorder and early childhood wounds, and anxiety-related issues. EMDR is considered a first-line treatment for trauma and has been shown to reduce emotional distress and accelerate the healing process. In addition, I use cognitive processing therapy (CPT), which has similar aims through different treatment techniques. Somatic (mind-body) techniques are also incorporated throughout the treatment process. We can talk about what will be the best fit for you. I also incorporate dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) skills for emotion regulation to tackle issues such as anxiety, depression, and anger. My clients will have take-home strategies that they can use outside of therapy. If you think we would be a good fit, I can be reached by call, text, or email.
Anxiety, depression, and overwhelming feelings can weigh you down. Quite frankly, it can feel like a real B-Word sometimes! I hear you. Many times, overwhelming feelings can pull you away from living your best life and living to your potential. Hello, I am Alexann Masiko-Meyer, I am an eclectic counselor that would be filled with gratitude to support you. I am an LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor) providing services in North Carolina, New Jersey, Canada, England, United Arab Emirates, Japan, China, New Zealand.... and growing Lets get back to living life unapologetically! SPECIALTIES Stress, Anxiety Depression Self esteem Adjustments / Life Changes Military Transitions Teens & Young Adults I also have experience in LGBTQ, Relationship issues, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Anger management, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes Years of Experience: 5 I expect nothing less than being held to professional standards. However, in full disclosure, I don't take myself too seriously, and I wholeheartedly feel that being a bit goofy, and being quirky, and maybe a bid different is okay! Many times, it is more than ok, and what makes us more of an individual, helps on the journey to wellness, being unapologetically yourself, putting a laugh out there to the universe and finding the good things in life along the way. Humor and levity may be evident and incorporated into the therapeutic process. I feel that everyone should have the ability to access mental wellness support and counseling. As a military spouse, and moving all over the country for 18 years, allthewhile working in the helping profession, I have grown to recognize the cultural apprehension, inability to access and equity issues that surround access to counseling. Summer Sessions Counseling is founded on the belief that mental wellness support should be accessible by everyone without stigma, physical access and transportation barriers, without requiring a diagnosis, to access one's best self. What is therapy like? What can I expect from my first session? The first session is typically a review of information you supplied on your intake form and address concerns that you may have. As you progress in your therapeutic journey, you will get into the real nitty gritty, strategies & processing activities, psychotherapy, counseling activities, art therapy, journaling and carving a new path to your ultimate goal.
With both the high and on-going demands of college, you may have noticed your body is struggling with things like headaches, knots in your back or shoulders and/or GI disteess. Behavioral medicine counseling can help with these types of pain, as well as chronic medical issues. My practice offers highly effective techniques in a supportive and compassionate style.

I have been in the counseling profession for two years. I was drawn to this line of work after witnessing how powerful connection, trust, and a listening ear can be in helping someone navigate life’s challenges, regardless of age. My experience includes treating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and life transitions. I currently work with individuals 12 years and older and in my free time, I love attending sporting events (Go 'Stros!), live concerts and performances, and listening to a good audiobook or podcast with an iced coffee in hand. A journey towards healing starts with taking that first step. If you have questions or would like to schedule a free brief consultation call to help take that first step towards healing please contact me. Paige Ingersoll is an LPC-Associate supervised by Cortnee Wright, M.A., LPC-S.
