My specialty is treating individuals with ADHD, anxiety, perfectionism, mild depression, stress, decisions about college majors, transitions, medical diagnoses (e.g., cancer, diabetes, struggles with weight, infertility, pregnancy loss). I use an integrated approach, but mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My theoretical orientation is based on the Biopsychosocial model. A little bit about me: I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and I've been working in health care (mostly primary care) for about 9 years. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family & dogs and you'll typically find me hiking or somewhere outdoors.
My therapeutic approach is strengths-based. I work with my clients to identify skills and assets and emphasize and refine them over time. Collaboratively, we look for new methods of coping and healing. I have specialized training in suicide-loss, trauma, LGBTQIA+, gifted and talented, grief and loss as well as ketamine-assisted therapy. I was also on the US Ski Team so I understand the psychology of performance and pressure.

My name is Zach and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Altitude Wellness Counseling. I received my masters in social work from Colorado State University. After receiving my degree I went to Texas and worked with teens and families at a residential counseling center. It was there I learned and began implementing the backbone of my practice. I realized that a relationship is the catalyst that brings about change. Nobody cares what you know until they know you care. With 11 years of experience I found that problematic behavior is simply the external representation of an internal problem. With all this being said, I don’t treat a person’s diagnosis; I work to help the person learn to be bigger than their struggles so they can succeed in life. A unique aspect of my practice is that I like to meet those I work with where they are. I don’t use an office (unless this is desired) allowing me the freedom to meet wherever you feel comfortable. I look forward to meeting you and helping you overcome whatever situation may be holding you back from being the best version of yourself.

My approach is warm, relational, and trauma-informed. I pay close attention to what's unfolding between us in the moment, while also helping you build practical tools for regulation, self-trust, and resilience. Our work might include somatic (body-based) practices, mindfulness, inner child and parts work, or deeper exploration of attachment, identity, and the systems we move through. I honor the realities of our sociopolitical climate and the ways it shapes queer and trans lives, and I aim to hold space that’s affirming, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your truth. Whether you're coming out, healing from trauma, or just trying to make sense of who you are and what you need, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. You don’t have to do it alone.
