About me I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my 3 siblings by a single mom and my great x2 uncle who was a former teacher and retired military. They made sure we understood the importance of education, resiliency, discipline and determination. My upbringing and community taught me the importance of needing to have people around who care and nurture different aspects of people. My Approach I look at people as being multifaceted and are influenced by many in their journey. I'm a firm believer that you can decide to change who you are and become who you want to be whenever you decide to. Being willing and open to challenge your own thoughts and behaviors no matter who you are or your age. My approach is transformative through inner work and behavior change.

As an experienced, compassionate clinician specializing in liberation psychology, my work centers on helping people from all backgrounds navigate complex trauma and the very real weight of systemic and interpersonal oppression. While I have a particular focus on supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults from underserved and disenfranchised communities, my door is open to anyone ready to do this work. Transparent, empathetic communication is at the heart of how I connect with the people I work with. Genuine connection matters to me and, together, we'll explore both the past and the future in a space built on trust and honesty. My passion lies in liberation from both personal trauma and systems that perpetuate harm. By taking a patient-centered and collaborative approach centered in collective action, I create the calm and intentional environment that allows you to achieve just that. Together, we'll move through experiences of intense trauma and symptoms of struggle in a way that’s tailored to your unique understanding, experiences, and needs. We accomplish this through psychoeducation paired with somatic and cognitive engagement, with a particular specialization in body-focused healing. Whatever we work through, my style stays gently direct and centered on the best path forward for you. My path to becoming a therapist began with my own mental health experiences and the journey I’ve taken to find my way through them. That path deepened my commitment to patient-centered care rooted in reclaiming a sense of control and agency. Bringing my own humanness into each session isn't something I shy away from; it's something I believe makes the work more real, more honest, and more meaningful for you. Skiing, rock climbing, and good company with even better friends are some of my favorite ways to recharge. A love of video games and coffee keeps things interesting, and growing up on the coast left me with a deep connection to the ocean that never quite fades.
I help individuals enhance their mental health. My approach is based on the premise that nutrition, physical activity, and how we recover are foundational to our well-being. We will optimize your life with thoughtful prescriptions, psychotherapy, nutritional and supplement counseling, and prescriptive exercise.
I am a dual licensed therapist close to CSU and UW in Laramie, WY. My background in Animal Assisted Social Work and being a military veteran give me unique experiences to serve student veteran clients and clients that are in need of assistance moving to the next step of adulthood.

With over 25 years of experience in substance abuse and mental health, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by many underserved populations. While I have extensive experience working with diverse populations, my approach is centered on helping each client—regardless of background—discover their strengths, build resilience, and create a path toward healing and personal growth. My focus is helping individuals in these communities address issues such as anger management, substance abuse, and overall emotional well-being. My culturally sensitive therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to empower clients to overcome obstacles and build a fulfilling life. I believe in the strength, resilience, and wisdom each person brings to therapy, and I am committed to providing a space where healing and growth can occur.
"I can't find meaning in life" ... "I don't know how to be real with myself or those around me" ... "I don’t feel connected to my partner anymore." Everyone wants to feel connected. We yearn to feel we belong and have meaning in who we are and what we do. Yet, it is not always that easy. I get it. However, I believe therapy can be a space for us to work together on finding meaning and developing the relationships you want. That is why I am here. To see you, to hear your voice, to understand your story, and to walk alongside you to get to where you want to go. Above all else, I believe in utilizing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to counseling to understand all of who you are--your thoughts, feelings, somatic experiences, desires, beliefs, and relationships. This way, you can become more aligned with your heart, mind, and body, working together to achieve your goals. In addition, I believe in using your values, purpose, and "why's" to help you align what you are doing and want to do with why you want to do it. As Friedrich Nietzsche states, "He who has a why to live can bear almost any how."
You’re tired of thinking about food all the time. Maybe you feel out of control around eating — especially at night — or stuck in a cycle of dieting, shame, and binging. You might even feel like you should know better, but nothing seems to stick. It’s exhausting, lonely, and can leave you hating your body and doubting yourself. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone — and you're not broken. Food may have helped you cope, but now it’s causing more pain than relief. I help people heal their relationship with food so they can stop the cycle and reconnect with themselves. Our work will be collaborative and compassionate. We'll explore the emotions and patterns that drive eating behaviors and practice tools like mindfulness, boundary setting, and emotional regulation. My approach is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and tailored to your unique needs. You deserve peace with food and your body — and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
As a therapist I focus on developing a greater sense of awareness and presence. I believe that we all want to be understood and accepted at a deep level. I respect your courage and time investment to be willing to look within and make uncomfortable changes. I work in collaborative way and strive to create a safe, accepting and caring environment that I hope is also challenging and insightful to my clients. committed to resolving unhealthy thinking, perceptions, and behaviors. My goal is to work interactively with you to identify flawed schemas that no longer serve you to come together to build new patterns of being. I'm not the kind of therapist who nods & asks: "How do you feel about that?" My approach is integrative and I am trained in IFS, EMDR, and Psychodynamic modalities.

Many of the students I work with feel weighed down by anxiety, burnout, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the pressure to be perfect. Others are coping with ADHD, past/current trauma, anxiety and social anxiety or just the everyday stress of classes, relationships, and big transitions. In our work together, you will find a supportive space to talk honestly about what is on your mind, learn coping tools to manage stress, and feel more grounded and confident. My goal is to help you feel less alone and more able to handle the challenges of college life.

Healing begins in safe, connected spaces - our practice is built on core values that guide both how we show up as clinicians and how we walk alongside our clients. At Root & Rise Collective, we value connection over correction, curiosity over judgment, and integration over quick fixes. We approach our work with healing that extends far beyond surface-level change.
I view therapy as sacred work in which the therapeutic relationship is one of mutual respect and collaboration. I hold a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington (1997) and a Master’s degree (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University (2010) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. In 2014 I completed a three year advanced training in Somatic Experiencing (SE), a body-centered approach to treating trauma and other stress disorders. I am inspired by Western psychological models and Eastern contemplative techniques, and my practice is enhanced by many years of experience as a yoga and meditation teacher, and as a seeker of various healing modalities. A life-long path of self-exploration and global adventure has been my classroom and has led me to ashrams, Native American sweat lodges, monasteries, and innumerable seminars, workshops, and retreats. I believe in finding inner growth and meaning in all life experiences, especially adversity. My therapeutic style is integrative and holistic, creatively employing Somatic, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral techniques with the intention of restoring balance to body, mind and spirit and inner harmony with all of your Parts. Or maybe your mood has been low and the things you used to enjoy no longer feel enjoyable? These are common symptoms of anxiety and depression that we can work together to address in therapy.
