Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. I enjoy helping to support people as they navigate through the many different waves of life. I help to create a warm, non judgmental, and supportive environment where clients are free to talk about their stories. I draw from a number of different treatment modalities, but most importantly, meet the client where they are at. While each individual's experience is unique, I regularly work with clients around topics related to anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, relationship concerns, sexuality, ADHD, life's transitions, familial conflict and many more. In this busy world, it can be difficult to make time to focus on your needs. Therapy provides a space to do so and share your story in a safe and non judgmental environment. Sessions are a time to practice self care, utilize your strengths, and develop tools that help you gain a better understanding of you. I would love to have the chance to work with you and hear your story. Currently, sessions are teletherapy based allowing you more flexibility to be in a familiar setting and join from any mobile or desktop device. I would love to help you with the process of learning more about you and develop the tools to navigate the many waves of life.
Hi there! I am a warm, creative and down-to-earth therapist who loves to help young adults navigate the often confusing and overwhelming experiences of college life, including issues related to academics, interpersonal relationships, gender identity, healthy sexuality, depression, and anxiety. (Not a complete list, by any means, but you get the drift!) If you are struggling with feelings of isolation and are having difficulty keeping up with your coursework, I can help you figure out how to navigate, starting from exactly where you are right now! I will provide a supportive ear and common-sense, actionable strategies to help you feel better. I am licensed to work with folks in South Carolina and Massachusetts, all via telehealth. I'm here when you're ready!
Tired of briefly feeling a little better after talking to your therapist each week, while not really making any sustained progress? Feeling like you two don't really have (or haven’t even discussed) a plan to address what brought you in for therapy? If you answered “yes,” to either question, you unfortunately are not alone. From day one, a key part of treatment at T.O.P.+ Behavioral Health is developing a collaborative plan incorporating your goals and strengths. My therapy approach is warm and validating, while teaching you evidence-based tools to increase awareness of what’s keeping you stuck and to make changes to get unstuck and live more aligned with what is important to you. I offer both specialized and more general individual therapy services. As an expert in exposure and response prevention (ERP) and habit reversal training, I am proud to offer the first-line and gold-standard treatments for OCD and tic disorders respectively. In addition, I am an expert in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy for panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. Other specialty offerings include CBT for depression, adult ADHD, insomnia, and binge eating disorder. A significant portion of my practice also involves working with college students experiencing normal, but difficult, issues that often show up during college years and transitions, such as test anxiety, difficulties making or navigating friendships, trouble concentrating, self-esteem or identity issues, or relationship difficulties. In addition to the standard individual therapy services described above, T.O.P. + also proudly offers intensive therapy services for OCD (i.e., ERP), Tourette’s & Tic Disorders (i.e., HRT), Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia (i.e., CBT) and Specific Phobia (i.e., CBT). Our Accelerated ERP, HRT, and CBT Programs consist of longer sessions (e.g., two to four hours per session) compared with a standard 50-minute session. In addition, most Accelerated Programs meet more frequently (e.g., three to five times per week) compared with the standard once-weekly therapy session, allowing one to finish a dose of treatment in one to three weeks. Accelerated program sessions can take place in-office, via telehealth, in the community, or through a combination of these settings. Our Accelerated Programs are great 1) for those with severe symptoms for which meeting once weekly might not be adequate to manage concerns; 2) for individuals wanting to finish a dose of treatment in a significantly shorter period of time (i.e., Great for Winter or Spring Break); 3) in many instances to help create momentum, achieve symptom improvement and reach therapy goals more quickly; 4) save money by receiving a discount compared with T.O.P. +’s hourly rates for standard individual therapy. Contact Dr. Bowe to learn more about specific offerings and pricing of Accelerated Programs. I do not currently accept insurance for standard individual therapy or for any of the Accelerated Programs. For standard individual therapy, however, I offer a $50/session discount for in-person appointments at my downtown Northampton office which has ample free parking and is accessible by public transportation. An additional $10/session discount is offered by payment by cash/check for standard individual therapy appointments. These two discounts do not apply to Accelerated Programs. As noted above, however, there is a separate discounted hourly rate for Accelerated Programs which ends up being less than the hourly rate for standard individual therapy even after in-office and cash/check-payment discounts are taken into account. Please also be aware that many insurances also offer out-of-network benefits, and may reimburse some of your expenses for standard individual therapy sessions when you submit paperwork which I can provide you with. For a free 15- to 30-minute initial consultation, please call or email me to learn more about how I might be able to help you.

At Hive Health, we believe healing is not one‑size‑fits‑all. Whether you’re a medical student carrying the weight of burnout, a young adult navigating life transitions, or a teen exploring your identity, you deserve care that sees the whole you. Like a hive, our well‑being is interconnected. When one part struggles, the whole system feels it. That’s why our approach is trauma‑informed, holistic, and culturally humble, addressing not just symptoms, but the deeper roots of stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout.
The desire to know and to be known is a normal human experience. I value the trauma-informed safety and client-centered connection we collaboratively create through a systematic lens. I am particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality. I believe the importance of affirming the unique individual experience with cultural humility. Through compassion, sensitivity, and empowerment, we will work together respectfully to acknowledge vulnerability, unearth patterns, attend complexity, and gain ownership change to achieve the most authentic and expansive self. I have experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, life transition challenges, self-esteem, relationship issues including intimate partner violence, and immigration matter. I approach this work holistically with warmth, empathy, and ever developing curiosity. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. It takes intentions to create the time and space to understand and explore ways to navigate the situation we are in. If you would like to explore what that looks like, I am here to support and empower you.

I have over 25 years experience working with teenagers and adults. I understand the social, behavioral, and academic challenges clients face, not only with the pandemic, but with social media, peer pressure, self-esteem, eating disorders, relationships, decision making, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. I provide cognitive behavior therapy, which is to help clients understand why they are thinking and behaving the way they are and to help them understand that in order to change for the long term, they need to first understand what is causing the problem. I help clients develop coping skills and self-care strategies for in the moment and every day use.
I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan. After finishing a Masters of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania, I completed a four year post-graduate program at the William Alanson White Institute, a psychoanalytic institute in New York City. In my practice, I work with people who are experiencing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety and relationship difficulties. I also work with individuals who are interested in improving their understanding of themselves or an aspect of their lives, or who want to be better able to make choices that lead to a sense of fulfillment. My goal is to provide a warm and collaborative relationship in which these topics can be explored. I believe that a successful therapeutic relationship is based on trust and can help bring about growth and change. I offer clinical supervision to psychotherapists in private practice and as part of the William Alanson White Institute's Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program. I am also an Associate Editor for the academic journal Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
I like to create a safe and supportive environment to allow clients to explore the challenges in their lives and to create healthier coping strategies and ways of thinking to live happier and more satisfying lives. I enjoy working with adults and older adolescents struggling with stress, life problems, self-confidence, and/or relationship issues. I have a background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I utilize a variety of techniques in sessions. I am a strong believer in "word choice" and becoming aware of the implications our words have on our thoughts and feelings.
Searching for a therapist can be one of the most difficult parts of coping, healing, and self-empowerment, because it's the first thing you must do. You must force yourself out of your comfort zone and out of whatever routine you've had before, to take the initiative and embark on a new path. When we're at our best, stepping out of our comfort zones can be daunting; when we're feeling vulnerable, it can seem nearly impossible. No matter what prompted you to take this first step, I'd like to be there for your second. I have a deep affinity for those affected by trauma, including sexual assault and combat, as well as extensive experience and desire to work with those with perinatal issues (such as post-partum depression), issues of gender and racial justice, childhood and teenage transitions, depression, and chronic illness. My therapeutic approach focuses on creating an empathic environment where you feel safe and relaxed, and where we can use every tool available to brighten your present and empower your future. This may involve playing a game or taking a walk as often as we spend time in the office.
Greetings, I am an 11 year Marine Corps veteran (2003 to 2014), experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. My main approach is person centered with a spattering of CBT, ACT, and REBT. Feel free to chat with me a bit and see if we work well together. I completed my master's in mental health counseling at Cambridge College in 2022, worked in a psychiatric hospital in a dual diagnosis role from 2022 to 2023, and moved on to community mental health where I worked as an outpatient clinician from 2023 to 2024, earning my licensure in December of that year.
