At MPTS, LLC, our mission is to create a strong relationship of trust with clients in a caring and judgement-free space, capitalizing on diverse experiences, specialties, and therapeutic strategies to meet the unique needs of the clients we serve. In so doing, we advance the following core values: • Multicultural Competence, Humility, and Sensitivity We recognize the importance of culture in informing our identities and our unique lived experiences. As such, we are dedicated to fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust so that our clients become comfortable in exploring their life’s journey with their therapist. • Client-Centered Approaches We recognize that truly effective therapy is collaborative in nature. While our therapists have specialized knowledge and expertise, you and your therapist work together as a team to unpack your concerns and discover the ways to help you move toward your mental health goals. • Present-Time Focus While we understand exploring our past experiences helps to inform our future experiences, it is necessary to deliberately and purposefully be in our present. When we strive to live in the present moment, regardless of the discomfort or pain, we gain personal insight and strength to begin making change, as may be needed. • Empowerment Focus We believe that despite life’s challenges or even because of these challenges there is within each of us the potential for growth.

I believe it is important to help each client feel comfortable, valued, and respected during the therapeutic process. My approach focuses on partnering with you to find healing, hope and meaning in your life. Sometimes that means working to understand present difficulties in light of past experiences; sometimes it means focusing on learning new ways to effectively cope with unplanned life challenges. I have experience in working with individuals focusing on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, substance abuse, strengthening relationships, improving communication, pregnancy loss, post-abortive issues, and spiritual concerns. Perhaps you are feeling: -not good enough -disconnected and alone -uncontrollable worry -stressed, easily irritable, angry, and frustrated -unable to focus and distracted -challenged by making life and behavioral changes Our work together can help you feel more in control, identify effective coping skills, manage even your most difficult feelings, understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors, feel connected both to self and those closest to you, and find healing and meaning in your life. Please contact me today to get started or with any question you may have. Background and Education I earned a bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University and a Masters degree in Counseling from Cornerstone University’s Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Michigan. Prior to starting Persenaire Counseling Services, LLC, I worked for a non-profit agency in Grand Rapids as part of a treatment team in an adolescent substance abuse program. I am continually working to further my education in providing optimal care. I am focused on the perspective of holistic care; the mind, body and spirit, when learning and investigating evidence based interventions of mental health disorders.

Hi, I'm Dr. Ana Hill. As a counseling psychologist, my priority is to listen deeply to my clients and become attuned to their unique stories and experiences. I consider myself to be a nonjudgmental and creative therapist who helps people explore and process dynamics in their lives that may be causing them to feel stuck, in emotional pain, or uncertain of how to heal. Our work together would be informed by a multicultural and self-compassionate framework that provides a safe, warm, and confidential space to foster greater awareness of yourself and your surroundings. I combine interpersonal, psychodynamic, and emotion-focused approaches to treat a range of issues including depression, stress and anxiety, relationship/intimacy issues, life transitions, family challenges, self-esteem, identity development, and trauma. I also have a passion for working with neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC clients. I know that it can be hard to find a therapist that is a good fit. As a first step, I like to connect by phone or video to get to know what you're looking for and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to getting to know you! Another value I hold is acknowledging the complexity and richness of each individual's intersecting identities is a crucial aspect of fostering understanding and connection in therapy, specifically for individuals with minoritized and marginalized intersecting identities. I try to create empathetic and culturally sensitive therapeutic spaces for clients. Therapy can be a valuable resource for those seeking support and understanding, especially when facing the challenges and complexities of daily life. If you have specific questions or concerns about therapy or mental health support, feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to provide information and guidance.

Are you feeling weary, inadequate or emotionally exhausted? Have you struggled to manage anxiety and you're ready for a change? I would love to partner with you. I grew up on my family's asparagus farm in West Michigan. I'm a proud MSU alum and began my career teaching high school before pursuing my masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I continued my training at the Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium to further integrate my faith and clinical work, and I continue to enjoy the integration of spirituality and psychology as clients desire in therapy. I've worked in the mental health field since 2006 and feel passionate about aligning with clients ready to seek change, heal wounds and foster ongoing curiosity and insight in their lives. Perhaps you feel a nudge to seek your full potential, experience lasting transformation and find fulfillment in your most cherished relationships. I love to use humor, my style is very relational and I value a high standard of professionalism, ethics and confidentiality in my work. I'd be happy to provide a 15 minute phone consultation to answer any questions and help determine our mutual fit.

I believe that each person has the wisdom and knowledge within them to be able to heal and grow themselves but that intuition can be difficult to access due to our upbringings, beliefs, structural expectations, etc. I am honored to join with clients on their growth journey and provide perspective and safety along the way. I welcome clients from all walks of life and work primarily with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self exploration, and navigating the many transitions of life. I take an eclectic approach that utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Psychedelic Integration and also value the wisdom and significance of spirituality, mindfulness, somatics, ancestral connection, connection with nature and other non western conceptualizations of growth and healing. I foster a inclusive, nonjudgmental and affirming approach that does not shy away from difficult emotions. This is a collaborative relationship where we work together and rely on your inner wisdom to pursue growth at a pace that is healthy for you. If this resonates with you, I look forward to connecting with you and exploring the work we can do together.

I specialize in working with graduate students who are seeking a kind, sensitive, and curious clinician to guide them through the mental health rigors of academia. The journey of completing a graduate degree can be a stressor which exacerbates existing issues of perfectionism and anxiety; but it can also be a time of growth, insight, and self-discovery. My second area of speciality is grief and loss. Grief shows up in many ways, often during points of life transition. Break-ups, divorces, deaths of a loved ones, chronic health issues that can impact daily functioning - these losses are part of life but can be challenging to navigate. Sometimes those around us can be uncomfortable with the intensity or duration of grief, or want to "fix it". Therapy can be a space where you can bring these emotions and have space held for their intensity without judgement. Everyone deserves the chance to experience healing and live a full life. I approach my work with genuine interest to know people- where they have been, what has brought them to where they are now, and where they would like to go. I offer both virtual and in-person options for therapy.
