Change is a constant in life, and as a therapist, I believe in empowering my patients to embrace it. My goal is to allow you to free yourself from harmful patterns of behavior through self-expression, and to challenge your beliefs in a safe environment. I encourage you to explore your emotions freely during our sessions, without judgment or restraint. Our time together will allow you to feel heard and understood. Together we can work towards a better understanding of your wants, needs, and identities. I encourage you to reach out.
You’re motivated, emotionally intelligent, and highly self-aware, but OCD, ADHD, Trauma and big emotions stop you from thriving. And you’re sick of it. You want to go through your day without intrusive thoughts getting in the way. You want to break cycles and heal from you and your family’s pasts. You want to create new systems that work for you. You want to find connection, and grow, and flourish. Treating OCD and Trauma requires supportive guidance. The difficulties of ADHD don't get enough respect. And let's be honest, rarely are we taught how to tolerate or regulate our emotions. I'm here to help. I understand the struggles of living neuro-spicy and many of the treatments I have learned and utilize have benefited me as well. I am experienced with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, and appreciate the mixture of things needed to support ADHD. Whenever you're ready, reach out. I'll be happy to chat, answer questions or help connect you with the right person if I'm not it. In our initial sessions, I will encourage you to engage in activities that nurture your emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental well-being. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely. Together, we’ll work to uncover your inner strengths and coping strategies, helping you move toward healing, growth, and recovery. My passion for this work stems from a commitment to helping individuals recognize their own potential and navigate life’s challenges with resilience. My goal is to guide you on your journey to a more fulfilling, balanced life.
Therapy is a process. When looking for a therapist, you want someone who can see your goals and provide insight into how they can become reality. Therapy isn’t something that you can just come into one session and be magically healed. When I say therapy is a process, I mean, that therapy comes with challenges, but also rewards. If you can be completely open and honest in this process, I can promise that I will not only work to be a guiding light in this fog you are walking through, but also someone who is going to challenge you and help you bring your inner dialogue out. When I am working with a client, I will bring strategies that you can implement, challenging questions, and overwhelming support. There are going to be days where you may feel like giving up on your ideas, dreams, or passions but I want to remind you that resilience isn’t just about being able to take pain, but resilience is fighting for a future you want. I work with a multitude of specialities including beauty standards, colorism, stress from the political climate, trauma responses, parenting and how your childhood impacts this, social anxiety. Some of the specialties that I focus on are Beauty standard/colorism. We live in a society where European standards seem to be the beauty standard but beauty comes in different shades as well as different shapes. It’s not society‘s job to tell you what makes you beautiful, it’s your own job to remind you that you are beautiful the way you are And how you interpret that in your day-to-day life. Identity also plays a part in my specialties. Being a biracial woman myself, I hold space for Multiple aspects of identity. Every person you know has intersectional pieces of their identity and what I work on is understanding those pieces and how they work to frame your decisions, choices and life. Working through trauma experiences can be difficult. Things that you may not even think to be triggers such as certain sounds you hear, a song that plays at a restaurant, or even the smell of a cologne can completely change your mood. I specialize in working through trauma experiences due to incest. Especially if these experiences are continuing to impact you through the role of a parent. As a parent, you’re already going through mental gymnastics, whether or not you should let your kid out to be at a sleepover party or finding that they have a group of friends that were similar to yours as a kid. Rather than internalizing these fears, I want to create an open discussion where we can process your feelings and thoughts, give you validity to your emotions, but also give you the better understanding that all these emotions still impact your child. Lastly, in the climate that we’re in, politics should not be an issue we avoid. Whether you are on the right or left side, there are things that are happening in current news today that may be impacting you emotionally, financially, and maybe even physically. As your therapist, I’m here to not only just listen to you but also give you the chance to have your voice heard even if you have family with opposing views, friends with opposing views or even neighbors. The therapeutic process does not need to be one that is shortened by fear. Coming into a therapy session, I want you to feel like you have room to talk and that someone is actually listening. This isn’t just an hour of your time that you hope your therapist is making it a safe space but it’s an hour of your time that you were working towards a goal, something that you want in life. I don’t want to just create a safe space for you, I want to help you create a space where your inner thoughts can be heard, validated and respected.

I work with individuals 18 years old and above who are struggling with depression or anxiety. I can support you to change behaviors to feel better, change patterns of thinking to improve your feelings, develop closer and more satisfying relationships, and much more. I use approaches that have been shown to be effective such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. As a professor at the University of Pittsburgh, I conducted research specific to the mental health of teenagers. I also have extensive experience working with LGBT individuals. Our first meeting would be a chance for me to really understand why you want therapy, for us to develop goals together (Note: My clients often begin developing goals by thinking about "If we are successful working together in therapy, how would you and your life be different?"), and for you to determine if therapy with me is a "good fit."

Melvinik Simmons was born and raised in Brownsville Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in a single parent household in the projects of Brooklyn was challenging. Where she comes from truly makes her the person she is today. "I saw everything that you can imagine, drugs, violence, even witnessing my childhood friend jump off a building". She knew at a young age people were "broken and felt helpless". Melvinik’s passion and mission is to inspire people and work with them to achieve their goals. "I am not only a therapist, but I care a great deal about my clients who I work with". "I am you and you are me" My mission is to help heal broken hearts. "I have been through a lot of what you may be going through, and I am here to tell you that healing is possible". Melvinik has been in the helping profession for over 20 years. She specializes in depression, grief/loss, anxiety and PTSD. She was a social worker for several foster care agencies, a supervisor for a crisis unit, a counselor for YMCA, and a therapist in the behavioral health department for several years at Richmond University Medical Center (N.Y) and St Luke University Health Network (P.A.). She has been in private practice (Talk Trust Heal LLC) for 4 years providing virtual therapy to clients in N.Y. P.A. and S.C. where she currently resides. She has an integrative approach combined with different styles, modalities, and methods to promote wellness. "I don't have a "one size fit's all approach" I immediately like to start where my clients are and offer a non-judgmental platform where they are able to talk in a safe environment. She is dedicated and committed to her clients and their mental health. Her motto is "Trust the therapeutic process, talk about the presenting issues and heal".

We are an association of therapists, each with a unique perspective and set of skills that are as individual as each of our clients. It is reasonable that not every Therapist is for you. With our team you have options to see who is the best fit for your needs. We implement a cognitive coaching style of effective psychotherapy which instills self-understanding and encourages adoption of new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. Therapy does not need to be a life long endeavor and we teach our clients the tools to help themselves. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
I'm Steven Mollura, the therapist who brings enlightenment by exploring the darkness. Together we face what you fear most, reclaim wholeness, and step fully into truth. Direct, no-nonsense mental health service that helps you break free from limiting beliefs and step into the life you deserve. I work with emotionally aware adults who want deep, accelerated change, (not just coping skills), who are willing to be honest, do homework, and take accountability for their lives. Ideal for clients who need discreet, judgment-free, practical work. This isn’t about managing symptoms. It’s about ending the war inside you. For those who want peace within and without. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand while you let the world beat you to death, look elsewhere. I'm not for you. If you're ready to walk into hell, I'm ready to walk right next to you. The first step is yours. Are you coming?
