College can bring big changes, new pressures, and moments that feel overwhelming. But you don’t have to carry it all on your own. With the right support, these challenges can also become opportunities for growth, confidence, and clarity. I work to help college students navigate transitions, manage stress, and heal from past experiences that may still feel present. In our work together, you’ll find a supportive space where you can be your real self with no pressure and no judgment. Using approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work and EMDR, I help clients uncover what’s beneath the surface, strengthen their sense of self, and move toward greater balance and resilience. My goal is to walk alongside you as you learn new ways to thrive, not just get by.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, passionate about collaborating with clients who are on their mental wellbeing journey. I believe the future is always negotiable and there is reason for hope. Change may not be easy, and may take time, reflection, and exploration. You might look like you're holding it together on the outside, but internally things feel overwhelming. I work with teens and adults who are feeling stuck, emotionally exhausted, navigating major life changes, or carrying experiences from the past that continue to affect their daily lives. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, difficult relationships, or simply don't feel like yourself anymore, I'm here to help you reconnect with yourself and move forward. My goal is for you to feel more in control of your life. We’ll explore how your past influences your present, creating a safe space where you feel truly seen. Our time together is to help you discover the strength you already have in you to move forward with clarity and confidence. Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but you don't have to have everything figured out before we meet. Our first session is simply a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and begin creating a plan to move forward that feels right for you.
I am an over-the-top passionate millennial therapist who LOVES helping emerging adults navigate the complexities of their emotional and behavioral well-being. I am a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. For me, being a physician is more than a profession—it is a vocation to help indviduals flourish. My practice is devoted to students and young adults seeking thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care that extends beyond symptom relief. I provide comprehensive evaluations that consider medical, nutritional, lifestyle, and psychological factors—including laboratory testing when clinically appropriate—to identify the contributors to emotional and cognitive health. I also specialize in evidence-based de-prescribing for patients who wish to reduce or discontinue psychiatric medications for anxiety, attention difficulties, or substance use disorders. My approach is guided by precision, humility, and restraint: using the least intensive intervention necessary while drawing upon the full breadth of evidence-based medicine. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, I integrate psychotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, carefully selected medications into a personalized treatment plan. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented internationally on psychiatric deprescribing and medical ethics. My work has been recognized with awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and other leading professional organizations. I am the Founder & Medical Director of Verigrate Health. I am licensed to serve patients in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Lousiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.

Are you stressed out and overwhelmed? Losing sight of your goals? Are 'old issues' getting in the way of moving forward? I care about "what happened to you" and I strive to provide a supportive space for you to share your concerns. Effective work can result in your improved ability to function and to pursue your best life. I offer acceptance without judgment, practical tools, constructive education and a conviction that you are capable! I do accept some insurance (Aetna and United Health) via Alma. Please contact me and I can walk you through the simple process. My approach is wellness-focused and is best suited for those who are not in crisis and who are ready to engage in deeper work. Developing increased self-compassion, radical acceptance and understanding about how we humans use self-blame to survive can help you move beyond the effects of trauma. I have a special interest in supporting persons who have been members of cults or high-control groups. These may be religious, psychological, treatment oriented or other. I offer online sessions via Zoom and some flexibility in my schedule (other than what is posted).
The students I connect with most are often feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where they’re headed. Many of them are juggling school, relationships, family pressure, and trying to figure out who they are — all at once. They may look like they have it all together, but inside, they're feeling anxious, burnt out, or like they’re falling behind. What they all have in common is a desire for change — even if they’re not sure what that change looks like yet. They’re open to talking things through, getting real about what’s going on, and learning how to take small, manageable steps forward. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. Therapy is a space where we can figure things out together — no judgment, no pressure, just support and tools that actually make sense for your life.
We are a team of therapists who are committed to providing support that perfectly blends personal compassion with science. We care deeply about our clients, and use proven, research based methods to help you cope with your personal challenges, heal, and improve your relationships.
