Raymond Gonzales M.D. | Sunlit Mental Health
Dr. Gonzales takes a personalized, collaborative approach that thoughtfully integrates medication management with evidence-based therapeutic techniques. He believes every patient deserves a safe space — one built on trust and open communication — because lasting change requires feeling safe and genuinely heard. He specializes in treating anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD across the lifespan — with a particular focus on the unique challenges facing early career professionals, young adults, college students, transitional aged youth, kids and teens. Whether you're seeking psychiatric care for the first time or you've tried other providers and are looking for a better fit, his goal is always the same: to help you grow, develop coping skills that actually work in real life, and build the kind of emotional foundation that holds. Dr. Gonzales believes that mental health care should be readily accessible — because the easier it is to engage in care, the more likely meaningful progress follows. His practice is primarily telehealth-based, removing barriers like commute time, scheduling conflicts, and the hesitation that can come with walking into an office. He currently sees patients virtually across Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, and Texas. In-person appointments are also available in Chicago, IL for those who prefer them.
Robin Leah Counseling
Our time together will be spent figuring the aspects- emotional, intellectual, sensory-based, and behavioral- of life through out your own story. Growing into learning how to listen to yourself so you can trust what it is you know, and what it is you need will be at the core of each session so that the feelings of stress, overwhelm, anxiousness, depression no longer keep you detached from yourself. The tools I use are done with cultural considerations, and by acknowledging the extra burdens social constructs and systemic environments put on you. I start with listening and being a witness to your story. With your consent, I use therapeutic tools to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with children, teens, adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD). All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to “get it right!” A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world. I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Stamatis Bogdanos, LPC-S | #64556 in Houston, Tx. Whether you're adjusting to a new environment, managing stress, dealing with relationship concerns, or simply trying to understand yourself better, counseling can provide clarity, support, and practical strategies for growth. It is a confidential, judgement-free space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, learn healthy coping skills, and build resilience.

There's an exhaustion and isolation that often come with mental health struggles. It’s easy to feel trapped in a cycle, simultaneously yearning for change and fearing it – especially when the cycle involves suicidal ideation, self-harm, substance use, addiction, or disordered eating. They all become ingrained in one's identity, making the idea of letting go terrifying. I want my clients to know there's more to them than their struggles. I'm here to support and guide them as they uncover their resilience and empowerment underneath the depression, anxiety, bipolar, trauma, and PTSD. I meet my clients where they are, simultaneously holding space for their emotions, thoughts, and current behaviors; all while gently guiding them out of the patterns that have been keeping them stuck. My goal is to strike a balance in our time together, seamlessly blending acceptance and change strategies to ensure a comprehensive and supportive experience. If you’re ready to discover your authentic self underneath self-destructive tendencies, please reach out. You deserve to live a life in which you are excited to participate—not just a life you passively tolerate. That life is out there, waiting for you. I would love to walk alongside you on your journey to help you take hold of it.
