I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for students to discuss and explore their college experience. I teach mindfulness, breathing and relaxation skills to decrease anxiety and depression and increase feelings of confidence, self worth and self esteem. As a registered yoga teacher, I also incorporate yoga skills/philosophy into my sessions. My therapy dog Yogi is also often a big hit, especially during the stressful period of finals and exams.

Do you have a place where you can be truly heard? Therapy can be that safe, accepting place and that's what I strive to create with you: somewhere for you to bring whatever it is that you're struggling with or the stuff that feels too heavy to bear alone. Maybe your challenges are preventing you from enjoying satisfaction and contentment. Perhaps you are in a period of transition and therapy could be a space to think through decisions so you can feel more confident about your choices. Or maybe you're struggling in a relationship to overcome old patterns that have limited you until now. The good news is that you don't have to face any of this alone. I have accompanied people through these and many other issues, and in therapy we'll identify what is holding you back and help you pick up new tools to tackle these challenges. I have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, and specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. Contact me today to find out whether we're a good fit to work together!

Are you struggling with transitions? Are you having problems with limit setting? Relationship issues with friends or family members? Transitioning from elementary school to middle school? For the past 25 years, I have helped patients and their families with these issues and many more as a Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. As Medical Director at Boston Children’s Hospital and at Metro West Medical Center, I have supported families through these various issues. I have an active faculty appointment at both Harvard University and Tufts University. I provide both individual therapy and family therapy when working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have treated anxiety, depression, ADHD and Bipolar disorder in medically complicated individuals. I emphasize diet, exercise, collaborative communication between caretakers and sleep hygiene before prescribing medications. As a parent of two teenagers myself, I am aware of the pressures that children, teenagers and young adults face today. Through my faculty roles, I have collaborated with mental health clinicians and other providers and absolutely love using a team approach when helping individuals. I am actively involved with teaching Child Psychiatry to Psychiatry residents.

I am committed to helping my clients feel better and become the best version of themselves. If you want to feel better in your body, adjust to college, improve your relationships, or generally improve your quality of life, you are like many of my clients and I am confident that we can work together to help you. I also work with people who have experienced sexual trauma, struggle with body image, and those who wish to explore their identities and family of origin as they move forward to shape their lives. My therapeutic style is warm, engaged, and collaborative. I work using evidence based methods to help you effect change, and I trust that you are the expert on yourself. I've been in (and continue) training for psychodynamic and relational analytic work with adults, couples, families and children. I'm a generalist with a range of clinical interests and experience, including: depression; traumas and intergenerational trauma; anxiety and sociopolitical anxiety; parenting and parent guidance; identities; relationships; family of origin issues; adjustment disorders and life transitions; dissociation; spirituality; creativity; dreams; play; helping professionals; and academia. I'm also comfortable with various modalities (e.g. CBT, ACT, DBT, MBT, Gottman, Narrative, Relational Cultural Therapy, and EMDR) and weaving them into the work as needed. I truly love this work and am invested in lifelong learning and teaching, via educational groups, courses, seminars, workshops, and consultations. I believe our work is a collaborative endeavor. I'm committed to offering a supportive, safe, compassionate and curious space where growth, healing, and insights can occur. I understand and appreciate the vulnerability of starting therapy, and trying to find someone who feels like the right fit to invite into your life. Fundamentally, our work should aim to both decrease your symptoms while helping to increase your own awareness of yourself and enhance your connection to self and others, leading to a more full, vibrant, satisfying and meaningful life.

For anyone who has ever been accused of being too emotional, too sensitive, too wild; for anyone who doesn't fit into the boxes society has created for us; for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world-- you are the kinds of clients I want to work with. I invite you to join me in an exploration of self, where you are the expert of your own life and I am your guide, supporting you on your path to becoming. With your consent, I will hold space for you and will be honored to be a witness to your growth. What does it mean to hold space? It means the way in which we connect, the way in which I help you to feel safe, knowing that I will accept and validate your feelings and experiences while still holding you accountable, but always with the utmost softness and tenderness. I will assist you in finding your voice- that is, learning how to identify and verbalize what you want and need for yourself and from others. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, which, as a queer therapist, is extremely important to me. I have a great deal of training and experience in unpacking and exploring different aspects of identity, primarily gender and sexuality. I am skilled in supporting individual clients as well as their families through these journeys.

Many of the clients we work with are navigating significant transitions in life—whether it’s stepping into adulthood, healing from past trauma, managing anxiety or OCD, or exploring their identity. They often feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or like they have to “do it all” perfectly. They want space to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. In our practice, clients value real connection, honesty, and a therapist who feels present and engaged. They’re not looking for someone with all the answers—they’re looking for someone who will walk alongside them, help them understand themselves better, and offer tools that work in real life. Our clinicians care about people's stories and want to support clients in self-development by showing up authentically, building strong relationships, and exploring various clinical approaches, such as EMDR, IFS, ACT, and more. We look forward to supporting you.
