Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
A lot of college students feel like they should have everything figured out by now. The truth is, most people don’t. College can bring a lot of pressure, academically, socially, and personally. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lonely, or navigating relationship challenges, or questioning your direction about what comes next. Many students I work with come to therapy because something in their life doesn’t feel quite right. Sometimes that means exploring stress happening right now, and other times it means getting curious about past experiences or childhood dynamics that may still be shaping patterns in relationships, self-confidence, or the way you handle difficult emotions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping you better understand yourself while also building practical tools to manage stress and feel steadier. Therapy with me doesn’t have to feel stiff or overly clinical; humor, swearing, and showing up as your real self are all welcome here. My office is located by a GVSU Laker Line bus stop and is about a 10-minute walk. You don’t have to sort everything out on your own. Reach out if you're ready to start getting the support you need!

Hello! I am a trauma therapist for women navigating motherhood and life transitions. I specializes in supporting women navigating motherhood, grief and loss, neurodivergence, and life transitions. I work with adult women who may appear to be managing life well on the outside, but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally. Many of the clients I work with are processing trauma, adjusting to major life transitions, navigating ADHD or autism as adults, or finding their way through the emotional complexities of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. I am particularly passionate about supporting women who are learning to better understand their emotional and physical responses, reconnect with their sense of self, and develop new ways of relating to their experiences.
I specialize in working with youth and adults, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, who are navigating complex emotions and challenges with grief, anxiety, depression, identity, and chronic illness and pain. As a Registered Art Therapist and Counselor, I offer a unique, holistic approach that blends Art Therapy and counseling for healing and growth through creative expression. Together, we'll create a safe and affirming space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. In our sessions, you’ll find a nurturing space that supports you in processing emotions and thoughts around difficult experiences. We’ll work together to help you discover new ways to express yourself and gain valuable insights. I'll support you in building skills to handle uncertainty and grow compassion towards yourself and your experiences. Art Therapy is a practice I utilize with clients to help process difficult experiences and emotions. Art therapy involves the creative process of art-making to help clients better understand their cognitive thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I consider the use of art therapy with counseling to enhance self-exploration, reflection, and personal insight. All my clients have the option to include Art Therapy in our work if they would like, no prior experience with art-making is necessary. If you're curious about how I can help support you with your specific therapeutic needs, feel free to reach out for a free 20-minute phone consultation. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about getting started! No matter where you are in your journey, I'm here to support you in blooming fully into the person you aspire to become.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or like you're carrying invisible weight no one else can see? Whether you're juggling classes, navigating relationships, questioning your identity, or dealing with family or cultural pressure, you don’t have to go through it alone. I’m Tsuki, and I specialize in working with students who often feel like they don’t quite “fit the mold.” Many of the students I support are BIPOC, neurodivergent (ADHD, Autistic, AuDHD), and LGBTQIA+, and they're trying to make sense of who they are while moving through complex systems that weren’t built with them in mind. In therapy, your whole self is welcome — even the parts that feel messy or misunderstood. I offer online therapy in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese and bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to our work together. Therapy with me is collaborative, flexible, and always grounded in respect for who you are and what you need. If you’re looking for support with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, identity questions, or just feeling stuck — I’m here to help.

I have many years of experience working with undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and staff at the university level. The reality is that being a student or working in academia can be both very rewarding but challenging and I am here with the privilege of accompanying individuals on their journeys whether it be personal or professional in nature. I look forward to the possibility of working with you to reach your goals!
Welcome! I’m so glad we’ve crossed paths. My name is Hayley, and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I have my master's degree in social work (LLMSW) from Grand Valley State University, where I also received my bachelor's degree in social work (BSW). Because everyone’s journey is unique, I will meet you where you're at and walk alongside you to provide the support you seek and deserve. My therapeutic style is warm, validating, supportive, empowering, and person-centered. I truly believe that having a safe and validating space to share our truth is so healing. The approaches I may implement in practice are elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, humanistic/client-centered, and strengths based. I specialize in anxiety, stress management, life transitions, LGBTQIA+, women’s issues, individuals involved in the justice system, pet end of life planning, and pet grief/loss. When I’m out of the office I find joy in spending time with my 5 cats. They are all rescues with unique stories and goofy personalities. I also have two chinchillas, and a general love for rodents. I believe animals are so healing. I know mine have saved me and brought me peace in so many ways. I also find joy in listening to my vinyl collection, watercolor painting, and looking for rocks and fossils along the shores of Lake Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Thank you for being here! I look forward to creating a validating therapeutic space for you that is accepting, healing, and empowering.
Ready to unf#ck your nervous system? Let’s be completely real, you can’t think your way out of a survival response. If analyzing your childhood or making endless coping-skill lists worked, you wouldn't be reading this right now. Numbing out, doom-scrolling, or pushing through the exhaustion makes complete sense, until it doesn't.I don't do standard talk therapy. I don't sit silently while you vent for 50 minutes just to tell you to breathe. At The Unfiltered Couch Counseling, we go straight to the root, in your body. When you are stuck in constant survival mode, chronic illness flares up, burnout takes over, and your brain feels constantly foggy. Using specialized somatic approaches like Brainspotting, EMDR, and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), we target where stress and trauma are physically trapped in your nervous system. We clear out the heavy, physical weight in your chest and stomach so your body finally gets the memo that the danger is over.If you are ready for raw honesty, deep somatic shifts, and a therapist who actually curses back, you’re in the right place. Let's get your system back online.
