We all deserve a space where we feel safe and supported. Emerging adulthood is a time of transition and personal development, and therapy can be a vital support as you embark on that personal journey. Dr. Natalie Otte provides therapy for a wide range presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity development, and substance use. She also provides psychological assessment for ADHD, Autism, and mood disorders. While it can feel challenging to initiate therapy or start the psychological assessment process, Dr. Otte aims to provide a genuine, non-judgmental, and empathic space for you to explore your presenting concerns. Therapy with Dr. Otte often involves processing your experiences, recognizing patterns and developing insights, improving your relationships, and building lasting skills for managing distress. Dr. Otte values psychological assessment for providing diagnostic clarity, and she utilizes evidence-based therapy approaches to help you reach your personal goals.
Do you feel something is missing from your life? Do you feel you have lost your way and are unsure where to go next? Do you find yourself asking: “where did I go wrong” or “what matters to me anymore?” Clients may find their usual coping skills are no longer sufficient, have unintentionally relinquished their autonomy, be stuck due to unaddressed trauma, or have never found the time to look within and get to know themselves. Sessions with me are oriented around thought-provoking questions and free association. The process is highly client-driven as anything on your mind could merit deeper exploration. My preference is always to seek out the root problems, or at least the symptoms and patterns that will grant us the most headway. This process can take time, but my goal is for you to leave therapy with enough self-assurance and resilience to be your own therapist!

I work best with students who carry a lot internally—people who seem put-together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected underneath. Many of the students I support are high achievers or deep feelers who worry about disappointing others, overthink decisions, or feel pressure to be “the strong one.” They’re often juggling school, relationships, family expectations, cultural or religious pressure, and their own inner world all at the same time. A lot of the students I connect with are navigating big transitions—figuring out who they are, questioning beliefs they grew up with, or trying to become their own person in the midst of complicated family dynamics. Some grew up in high-pressure homes, were the emotional caretaker in their family, or learned to hide their needs. Others are noticing patterns they don’t know how to change, like shutting down, feeling numb, feeling “too much,” or carrying stress in their bodies through tension, trouble sleeping, or difficulty concentrating. Many of my students are the quiet strugglers—the ones who rarely ask for help, apologize for having needs, or carry the emotional load for everyone else. They’re thoughtful, self-aware, and resilient, but exhausted. If you feel stuck between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming, or if you’re looking for a space where you don’t have to hold everything together, you’ll feel understood with me.
