Making the step toward healing is a courageous choice, and in knowing how vulnerable this process can be, I strive to provide a safe, accepting environment for those who are ready to open themselves up to this growth. I believe that all humans are inherently worthy, and I will support you in uncovering this within yourself. There are many obstacles that can get in the way of aligning with your core values and the life you desire, and my goal is to guide you in the learning and unlearning process that can help reconnect you with your true self.

Living a “life worth living” can seem like a path only others get to travel, while our journey feels unfair, exceedingly difficult, or at times impossible. At times we discover that our struggles are the result of the choices we made, or the choices others have made that affect us. At other times, we unknowingly hold onto faulty beliefs about ourselves or others, living as if they are true or accurate. To cope, we develop strategies to make the journey seem more doable. They can indeed be helpful and carry us toward our goals, or be the very obstacle that prevents us from achieving our potential. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Diplomate with the NASW in Clinical Social Work. I have worked with children, teens, young adults, and adults, as a practitioner of DBT,and CBT, supportive therapies, and multiple trauma modalities such as Prolonged Exposure, Traumatic Incident Reduction, TF-CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. If you find that this description of “living” resonates for you, therapy may provide the hurdle help you need to claim or reclaim your agency. Goodness of fit is a crucial variable in therapy. There are many therapists in our community who may be that link for you. If after reading my profile, we may seem like a good fit, give me a call.

I aim to meet the individualized needs of each person, couple, and family I work with and take a collaborative approach in setting goals for therapy. I use a family systems approach to explore how multiple areas of a person's life impacts their experiences and current struggles. I work on achieving these goals through a variety of measures, including personal exploration, role play and exercises used in and outside of session, implementation of improved communication skills, and boundary setting. My work with individuals, as well as couples and families focuses on relationships of all kinds. I address parenting issues, social skills, family conflict, and transitions including entrance into college and the workforce. I have experience working with substance abuse and mental health symptoms, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. First of all, I appreciate your time reviewing my profile. Here's what you can expect from our work together: I deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally competent treatment for a wide range of mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders. In every session, I aim to empower clients with mental health education, acknowledge strengths, and bring compassion and honesty to vulnerable moments in therapy. It is my hope that we can spend time understanding how past experiences are influencing the present and work towards more authenticity and self-led actions in the future. Skilled in Acceptance and Commitment, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques, I assist clients to develop deeper self-awareness and mindfulness, process underlying feelings and beliefs, improve psychological flexibility, and strengthen coping skills as clients work towards their specific goals. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling along with an additional certifications in trauma, sex-informed counseling, substance use counseling, and grief and loss. I use an integrated, person-centered approach to treat a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, panic, life/education/career transitions, trauma, struggles with interpersonal relationships and attachment, ADHD, self-esteem, chronic mental health issues, and less healthy coping mechanisms such as substance use, people-pleasing, self-criticism, and other self-punishing behaviors. Please reach out if you have any specific questions/concerns, I would be happy to address them with you. Certifications: LCPC, CADC, ADHD-CCPS, CCTP, CAGCS, CSTIP

Everyone lives a diverse, intersectional existence with idiosyncratic experience. Acknowledging this means relating to others with inclusivity, openness, and humility. This philosophy not only humanizes students, many of whom identify as marginalized community members (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQ+, accessibility needs, low-SES), but also honors their authenticity. Thus, I practice from an existential-humanistic-relational lens so I can naturally tailor therapy with evidence-based techniques (e.g., CBT, SFT, ACT) and psychological theories (e.g., identity, attachment, multicultural) necessary for understanding students’ intersectionality. I typically work with students experiencing elevated anxiety and depression, while specializing in identity development, interpersonal dynamics (e.g., relating to others), relational trauma, and existential concerns (e.g., authenticity, choice, meaning). Early sessions help form a therapeutic alliance, revealing underlying issues that manifest as psychological distress (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma). From there, we identify coping skills, foster hope, and alleviate symptoms as you gain insight-oriented feedback. We also collaborate to explore, discover, and empower actions for you to become the most authentic version of self. The modern world is daunting, with a pace and pivot difficult to navigate. The rapid spin of sudden chaos. Steady drift of aimless wander. Dead still of eternal stagnation. As a serving spirit, I provide a healthy space for students to be and become that who they are and will be. Here, all are welcome. Here… all are an expression of hope and self-empowerment.

You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges on your own. There are times when the weight of stress, anxiety, grief, self-doubt, or major life changes can feel overwhelming, and reaching out for support can be difficult. If you’ve been carrying more than you can manage by yourself, know that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but an investment in you and your future.

Reaching out for help takes courage. It means that you are able to admit that you do not have all the answers and have the strength to acknowledge that you may be struggling. Experiencing personal conflicts can make you feel unsteady, anxious, and unsure about how to move forward. It is during these times, I believe that showing up authentically is the first step in moving forward. I believe that leaning into vulnerability and tuning into yourself is key to a transformative journey. Therapy is a safe place to remember who you are and discover the inherent power you hold to create a life that you will simply enjoy living. I view therapy as a collaborative process grounded in the human capacity for change. You are the expert of your own life and I desire to work alongside you to develop healthier relationships and learn effective strategies to overcome life’s obstacles. My goal is to create a supportive environment to foster healing, growth, and empowerment. I welcome all backgrounds with cultural sensitivity. I work with individuals seeking change in the areas of anxiety, depression, relationship/family conflict, childhood behavioral problems, mood stability, self-esteem, and trauma. In practice, I utilize cognitive behavioral approaches, solution-focused, trauma focused CBT, and mindfulness.

Hi there! I am so excited to sit with you and be present as you engage in the therapeutic process. Taking the walk to receive the care you deserve is often the hardest step, so I am excited to be here with you to cheer you through it! In this life, we face a whirlwind of different scenarios that may create ups and downs in our timeline. And even more often, our internal voice may guide us in a way that sets us back. Together, as we establish our therapeutic relationship, I will work with you to empower you and help you explore how to reach your full potential! As a growing counselor, I have been able to gain a breadth of different experiences throughout my education. Hailing from Western Michigan University, I have had experiences working with individuals with developmental disabilities (behavioral) and was fascinated by people’s different stories and how all of our domains in life affect us in so many different ways! As I embarked on the clinical route, I have had experience working in individual and group counseling settings. As a neurodivergent individual myself, I understand what it’s like to feel those struggles inside and outside of ourselves. I aim to create a space for you to have that voice, the tools, and structural pieces to bring to the outside world. In our work, I often explore from a CBT, DBT, ACT, person-centered, and/or humanistic perspective. I also integrate faith-based counseling, spirituality counseling, as well as mindfulness based practices to help navigate the intersection between physical and mental growth. I work with anyone in our space from ages 13-100+, offering both individual and, now, group services (please reach out for more info on group, if interested)! In this space, my biggest goal is to recognize, ensure, and promote your safety and comfort, and collaboratively create a plan tailored to your success and well-being with the right tools for you. I will act as the facilitator to your growth, where you will always be the expert. My clinical interests involve working with neurodivergent individuals (autism, ADHD), life transitions, self-identity, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger management, boundary-setting/communication, relationship issues, as well as trauma-focused work. I’m excited to meet with you and look forward to what’s to come!
