I specialize in working with college students, young adults, individuals, and couples navigating trauma, academic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance use, and life transitions. I have experience providing services in College Counseling and Psychological Services settings, where I’ve supported students through personal, relational, and academic challenges. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative. I use EMDR along with other evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), to support holistic healing and emotional well-being. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can process their experiences, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.
Make friends with your anxiety. Wait—what?! Okay, let’s tame it first. Then we’ll work on the friendship. Too often, anxiety management becomes about fighting it, silencing it, or pretending it’s gone for good. But anxiety is just your survival instinct—stuck in turbo mode. Trying to erase an instinct isn’t a great use of energy. And let’s be honest—your anxiety is a pro at fighting back. So let’s stop fighting. Let’s cool things down. Let’s get curious. Maybe even… make friends with it. Sound impossible? I’ll show you how.
My hope is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where all parts of you are welcome. College is a time of big changes, and it’s normal to feel stressed, anxious, or unsure about how to handle everything. I offer a space where you can talk openly about what’s going on, whether it’s academic pressure, relationships, or figuring out your next steps. I use a variety of approaches based on your needs, with a focus on Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic work, and EMDR. I utilize these methods because they support the whole mind-body connection, allowing history that has been stored in the nervous system to be released. Together we can help make sense of the pieces of your life that have become overwhelming and give you tools to handle life with more confidence.
My heart for hurting people was birthed out of my own journey of experiencing healing from trauma, abuse and loss. I am convinced that all of us are created with a potential for incredible resilience and with the right kind of compassionate support, we can bounce back from the worst of circumstances. I grew up in India and after moving to the US in 2001, received a M.A. in Professional Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Over the last 2 decades, I have enjoyed working with children and adults in various settings such as schools, women's shelters, colleges, churches and private practice. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, cooking and enjoying conversations over a good meal with friends and family.
Hello, my name is Adam Nash and I am a counselor who works in a private practice called Health for Life. I am a trauma informed counselor who works with men in their late teens and early 20's. I believe that college is one of the hardest times of anyone's life and I believe that having someone to support you through these difficult times is very important. I have a desire to work with college students as the move through this time of transition.
I offer secure online therapy throughout Michigan. Adjusting to college or young adulthood can feel overwhelming. You might be anxious, out of place, or unsure of who you are becoming. Everything is changing, and it can feel like you’re expected to figure it all out on your own. You’re not alone in this. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. While I specialize in working with adult and teen women, I welcome individuals of all ages who are looking for support and clarity. My approach combines mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and practical tools to help you better understand what you’re experiencing and begin to feel more steady. I offer a supportive, collaborative space where you can slow down, reflect, and feel truly heard. If you choose to work with me, we will move through challenges together—whether that involves relationships, grief, loneliness, trauma, or the anxiety and depression that often come with them. If you're ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out.
Hello all, my name is Andrea Dillon. I work with students with transition issues, stress management, depression, anxiety, and perfectionism. When working with my students, I often focus on building skills based on what you have already built, and help you practice tuning into yourself while learning new coping skills. In my sessions I often find myself laughing with my students as a way to touch on topics and finding the joy/humor in life.
After starting a career in higher education, I realized that I wanted more opportunities to spend time with students 1:1 and support them through all of the life changes that occur throughout college: deciding on a major, finding new friends, separating from family, changing majors, figuring out how to adult, starting a career, excelling in classes that only become more rigorous, and maybe changing majors again. All of this in addition to finding time for yourself becomes quite difficult! As a psychotherapist, I work with students experiencing depression and anxiety as they navigate the challenges and stressors that come with being in college. Many have also had difficult or traumatic experiences while growing up, and are ready to figure out how to talk about them. Through weekly appointments, we'll build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, and quickly develop an understanding of your goals for therapy. For some, this will mean our work together is brief. For others, we'll settle into a long-term working relationship that will see you through the ups and downs over the next few years. I primarily use a psychodynamic approach in therapy, which means we'll explore your inner thoughts and feelings to understand how they affect your behaviors and relationships. I find that this approach helps you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, including how you might get in your own way from time to time and what you might want to do differently. Always, the goal is to support you as you (re)discover your strengths and learn to accept yourself as human, making both life and college a little easier to navigate moving forward. Please note: I'm licensed to see individuals in Florida, Illinois, and Michigan.
