I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy and value my client's life experiences and the knowledge that they bring into the therapeutic relationship. I tend to work interpersonally and view the therapeutic relationship as a tool for gaining insight into personal struggles, as well as a venue to practice new behaviors and boundaries. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences and while I am trained as a generalist, I have particular interests in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, body image, gender identity and socialization. My experiences in a variety of settings including college counseling centers, Veteran's Affairs, inpatient addiction rehabilitation center, consultation center, domestic violence advocacy organization, and adolescent homeless shelter are a particular strength of my clinical work and allow me to uniquely provide real-world application for my clients concerns.

I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, and received my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University, and my Master’s degree in Counseling Education with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University. In the past I have worked with clients ages 7 and up, who are struggling with life transitions, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other challenges. I believe that therapy can be a transformative experience; something that allows people to live their authentic and best lives, and helps us to develop coping skills to handle life’s toughest challenges. I practice therapy from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic (CBT) approach. I work with all individuals age 18 and older if any gender. My practice focuses mainly on anxiety and depression, but I have a lot of experience in addiction.
