*I’m a therapist at Mentella Health, a tele-health group private practice* Welcome! My name is Zena and I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, interpersonal concerns, and life challenges/adjustments. I have a MA in counseling and a BS in psychology and over five years working as a therapist in various outpatient settings. My approach to therapy is integrative; I work from a client-centered/humanistic lens incorporating elements of psychodynamic, existential, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and compassion-focused. Therapy is collaborative, there is no one size fits all approach to therapy, therefore I tailor my approach based on the needs of the individual. I believe the most important element of therapy is the therapeutic relationship, therefore I aim to be open-minded and authentic in the therapy room. My goal is to help clients gain insight by providing a safe, non-judgemental environment that fosters acceptance while also encouraging clients to work toward their goals (e.g. balancing acceptance with change). My ideal client is someone who is curious, open-minded, and willing to explore new prescriptives and how past experiences might be impacting how we currently engage with ourselves, others, and in the world. Many of my clients report increased self-awareness, self-acceptance, and ability to understand, accept, and regulate their internal experiences. When I am not providing therapy, I enjoy being in nature/hiking, spending time with my family and cats, and watching horror movies.

Hi, I’m a first-generation Mexican-American bilingual therapist (¡HABLO ESPAÑOL!) offering compassionate, non-judgmental care for individuals who are ready to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. I’m deeply committed to supporting the Latinx community, LGBTQ+ individuals, teenagers, college students, young adults, adults, eldest daughters, and señoras navigating life’s challenges. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, suicidal thoughts, self-harming behaviors, emotional struggles, relationship issues, family conflict, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and school-related stress. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by family expectations, struggling with perfectionism or people-pleasing, carrying the pressure of being the eldest daughter, or finding it difficult to set boundaries and say “no,” you do not have to navigate it alone. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. You may feel like you’re constantly putting others first, avoiding your emotions, struggling to protect your peace, or carrying the weight of generational trauma. Together, we’ll work toward healthier boundaries, greater self-confidence, and breaking patterns that no longer serve you. My approach is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and authenticity. Together, we’ll build insight into your thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns so you can stop feeling stuck in survival mode and begin moving forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion. With me, you can expect to feel truly listened to. My calm, lighthearted presence helps create a space where you’ll feel safe to open up, even when things are heavy. I pride myself on creating a warm, supportive environment where you can explore your emotions without fear of judgment. I’ll also gently challenge you when needed, helping you face yourself with honesty so you can grow. That may mean confronting difficult emotions, patterns, or experiences, but always with care, respect, and your best interest at heart. If you’re ready to do the work, whether that means challenging old habits, trying new coping strategies, or showing up with honesty and curiosity, we’ll likely be a great match. Therapy with me is about creating momentum toward the life you want and becoming the version of yourself that feels most authentic, empowered, and at peace. Therapy is not about being “fixed”. It’s about learning to care for yourself in ways you may have never been taught. I would be honored to support you on your healing journey.

Hello! My name is Dana Kremidas! Welcome to my page. I have been a practicing Social Worker for 13 years. Since then, I have worked with a lot of college students who are having a tough time adjusting to college life. Students often feel maladjusted, some feel anxious, some suddenly are having academic problems that weren't there before, depression, addiction, relationship issues, social anxiety, ADHD, etc. If you are experiencing issues related to your mental health, you may need to speak to a therapist, and I believe that I can help! We will have a 15-minute free consultation to decide if I'm right for you! If so, we will schedule an appointment. If not, I could refer you to a colleague. Please contact me if you are interested in therapy. I also work on a sliding scale, which means that I charge people less who make less. I will never judge you. Believe me, we all have stories to tell.

Although we have little control over the hand that life deals us, I believe in the hope that it is never too late to heal, to learn new and more effective behaviors…to create the life that you have always dreamed of living. What does it take to get there? What is holding you back? Those answers lie within each one of us. I enjoy creating an alliance with my clients, to be a guide in their own journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and acceptance. I believe in creating an environment that balances just the right amount of acceptance and change; one that is safe, nonjudgmental, and validating. I look forward to joining with you, exactly where you are, in your life journey. I have worked at Therapy Today since March 2012, and have worked in the mental health field for 25 years providing treatment services in private practice, schools, and in social service agencies, notably Community Mental Health of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. I have provided case management and individual and group therapy to adults with serious and persistent mental illness. I have supervised a multidisciplinary case management team of more than 20 clinical and support staff, and provided specialty supervision to staff on the comprehensive Dialectical Behavioral Treatment team. I have worked with co-occurring disorders to maintain compliance with state standards for evidence-based practices, coordinated outpatient services for those discharging from psychiatric facilities, and provided re-entry services for returning citizens who are paroling from prison.

You value depth in relationships and you're thinking long term into your future, but you're not sure what path to walk. I've been providing therapy to teens and adults for 14 years, navigating this life along side you. I utilize discussion on how our thoughts and emotions are interconnected with our life choices and actions, all while encouraging you to tune into what your body is telling you, and directing you back to listening to what is truly best for you.

Hi! My name is Matt and I am a limited licensed professional counselor. I have been working as a counselor since 2022 and have been working in the mental health field since 2016. My first counseling job was at Central Michigan University and I worked with clients with a variety of concerns such as life adjustments, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, etc. Before anything else, I'd first try to get to know you, your circumstances, your presenting problem, and your strengths before we focus on how we can make the best use of our time together, whether that be space to process, thinking of solutions, or something else. If we don't happen to be a match, that's ok! I work with a team of other mental health professionals who may be available to take on new clients as well.

Hillary believes that the foundation of counseling is a therapeutic relationship that offers a safe and comfortable environment. Sharing your story while experiencing acceptance helps to drive the therapeutic process and lay the foundation for real healing and growth. She believes counseling can be a place to explore your patterns, come to understand factors that contributed to your development, and find a balance between accepting yourself and changing patterns that are no longer serving you. Through this exploration and finding the right therapeutic tools, Hillary believes that all people have the ability to understand themselves better, find acceptance, and learn to thrive in daily life. Hillary works for Mindful Counseling GR at the Standale location. She is an alum of both Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University. Hillary works with adolescents and adults. She specializes in working with individuals with anxiety, trauma, depression, and life transition concerns. Hillary also has experience with family of origin work and exploring relational patterns within the family unit. Hillary will work with you to identify strengths within yourself, increase self-awareness, and find the right tools for managing life symptoms and stressors before they arise.

I love meeting new people, hearing people's stories and unique experiences, utilizing humor, and supporting one another with kindness! In our space, these things are true: Your feelings and experiences are valid. You will be not only listened to, but heard. You will not be judged. I will hold a space for you and your experiences. As much as therapeutic engagement can teach you, I know I will also learn from you. I will create safety for you in the light and in the dark.

Hi, I'm Tarah Hipple-Thomas. I offer individual therapy for adults navigating the long-term effects of trauma. I know how deeply trauma can shape the nervous system, relationships, and sense of self, and I also know that healing is possible, even after years of surviving in silence. My clients are often thoughtful, resilient people who have tried for years to “just move on” or “push through” their pain. Many are high functioning on the outside, but inside feel stuck, exhausted, overwhelmed with emotions or thoughts, or disconnected. Some experience flashbacks or nightmares, while others carry a vague sense that something isn’t right. It’s common for my clients to describe feeling overwhelmed with sudden emotion, or feeling "flat", like they're not feeling at all. Many of my clients live with complex PTSD, dissociative symptoms, or formal dissociative disorders, including DID. I welcome all parts to therapy (yes, even the ones that are unsure, skeptical, or afraid). My goal is to create a space where every part of your system can feel seen and supported. Therapy with me is relational and collaborative. I’ll be by your side as you build trust in yourself, learn new ways to cope, and begin to reconnect with parts that you may have lost touch with along the way. Healing from trauma doesn’t mean forgetting or pretending the past didn’t happen. It means reclaiming your life in the present, moment by moment, with compassion, clarity, and courage. If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to walk with you on your healing journey. Visit my website to read more about my approach and to contact me for a free 15 minute consult to see if I'm the right fit for your next steps on your journey.
