I am an optimistic and passionate therapist who is eager to walk beside you as you transform and work toward the life goals you are striving for. I chose this path because I am truly interested in the story each person has to tell. I find myself truly in awe of what a person in a mindset of change is capable of. As your fellow human I know personally the impact of therapy and how intentional focus can truly shape your future. My treatment approach begins with your strengths and how we can build on what is already working well. I focus on solutions derived from small points of change that create a big impact. I routinely facilitate reviews of goal progress to ensure your time and energy is well spent. Outside of goals, I encourage therapy to be a neutral zone, a safe place to release the clutter and sound of your everyday life. I believe that the answers to all you are looking for are within you, I am here to ask the right questions and provide the opportunity to listen to yourself. Speciality areas: Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions, Grief, Overcoming Trauma, Parenting and Relationships. Treatment approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused and mindfulness interventions Treatment Modalities: Individuals. All sexes/genders welcome

Hi! I’m Christen Clark, LMSW. I’m passionate about counseling women going through anxiety, depression, grief or challenging life transitions. In particular, I have a heart for college students, young adults, and women going through pregnancy/postpartum. Life can be hard. Transitions have a tendency to bring up past trauma, anxiety, or depression. Sometimes “high achievers” can be suffering internally with their mental health while no one else knows. If life feels overwhelming, out of control, or it is becoming hard to function - you’re in the right place. There is hope. I know reaching out for help can be intimidating - maybe even scary. My goal is to help you feel at ease in therapy sessions by building a real relationship. I hope to provide a warm, loving presence and to help you recognize your own strengths. My number one priority is making sure we are a good fit and building trust in our therapeutic relationship. I am fueled by my faith in God to treat every woman I encounter with love, support, and grace. You are worthy of love, acceptance, and to see the beauty of life again. Although I am a Christian, I have experience working with women from all kinds of diverse backgrounds. I value your worldview and we can use faith as much or as little as you desire in our sessions. You are not alone. Keeping our depressive or anxious thoughts in the dark is a breeding place for shame. Opening up is the only way to move towards healing. Sometimes, when we shine a light on what seems so dark and shameful we find out it’s not as bad as we thought. As someone who has struggled personally, I provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in our sessions. I am grateful for 8 years of experience in social work after graduating from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work and a Master’s Degree in social work from Spring Arbor University. I’m currently providing exclusively online individual therapy services. Good news - no matter where you’re located in the State of Michigan, I can help.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, social dynamics, or just feeling a bit disconnected from yourself. I’m here to sit with you in the in-between space and help you make sense of it all. As a former university counselor in a college counseling center (CAPS), I bring that experience together with EMDR, somatic approaches, and parts work to help you feel more grounded, in touch with who you are, and hopeful about what’s ahead.

I offer virtual (online) sessions only at this time. Some sessions can be made by appointment if openings are not noted on my calendar - just ask! Sometimes the anxiety and depression that come with life changes, trauma, relationship issues or job stress can be distracting and affect our ability to thrive. When people work through their thoughts and feelings, they often report feeling more clarity and a deeper sense of vitality and purpose. You can expect to be gently challenged to explore your experiences in a safe, kind and private space when you work with me. I've helped people find more confident self expression in decision-making and relationships. I've also had people report performing better in sports, school or the arts. Many people find themselves making better, more positive behavioral changes as they feel better emotionally. I use an eclectic mix of theories, often including psychodynamic work, in therapy to include the entire person: mind, body and soul. I try to educate and empower people to use practical tools they learn in therapy in realistic, lifelong ways. It takes courage to be vulnerable and acknowledge you'd like some help along this journey. I know because I've been there myself. Take the first step and I'll meet you there.

I work with teens and adults who feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, discouraged, or worn down by chronic pain. Together, we pursue healing that honors both your mental health and your faith. My approach is grounded in clinical psychology, with the option to thoughtfully integrate Christian spirituality and/or address religious trauma in a way that is respectful, collaborative, and aligned with your values. As therapy progresses, you’ll begin to notice meaningful shifts. Life, work, and relationships will feel lighter and steadier. Moments of genuine joy will return. When difficult thoughts or emotions arise, they won’t pull you under. Instead of spiraling into overthinking or self-criticism, you’ll respond with clarity, wisdom, and self-compassion. The harsh inner voice softens, replaced by one that is kinder and more truthful. The world may still feel uncertain at times, but it will no longer feel hopeless. If you’re wondering whether we might be a good fit, I invite you to learn more about my story and approach.

I use an integrative approach where I am able to meet you where you are at with compassion, curiosity, and encouragement to evaluate and tailor evidence-based treatments to fit your needs. My desire is to partner with you in exploring your story and help you experience healing. I have enjoyed working with people from a variety of life stages from adolescence through late adulthood. I love working with those who are experiencing grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, planning for the future, and those who might just feel "stuck". In 2025, I received training in cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) from the Stanford Sleep Health and Insomnia Program. I consider it a privilege to sit with you as you share your life with me. My hope is that I can create a safe place for you to explore your depths and deepest parts while feeling supported and accepted. I would love to come alongside of you in the midst of your journey and witness your growth.

Does the word “people-pleaser” apply to you? Do you find yourself often swept away in the whirlwind of other people’s troubles? Is it challenging to get what you need and want from others? Have you maybe become aware of some trauma and want to begin healing from it? Are you ready and motivated to grow more as a person and live a more authentic life? I can help! I believe that clients are the experts of their own lives. I’m here to help you access your own power to create the changes you want to see. Also, I incorporate a holistic and feminist approach, inviting clients to discuss and process systemic and cultural issues. My focus is to create a safe, validating, and nonjudgmental environment for you to explore any and all elements of yourself, your life, and your connections with others. I often work with people struggling with codependency, trauma, and relationship/family issues as well as anxiety and depression. My clients learn to better regulate their emotions, improve communication skills, increase self-confidence, overcome limiting beliefs, feel empowered, explore life goals and values, and identify what they want in their lives. I have training in treating trauma and skill-building. I work with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. My hours vary for easy accessibility. I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have. You are so brave in taking this first, and often hardest, step towards your goal.
