While I do draw more often from tenets of Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), other modalities may be incorporated with a heavy influence on a strengths-based approach. Hi There! My practice specializes in folks struggling with anxiety, ocd, disordered eating and related concerns. I am a health at every size informed provider (meaning, all bodies are deserving of the same care without criticism and my practice will never include recommending intentional weight loss). While I don’t advertise myself as specializing in LGBTQIA+ areas, this is a population that regularly struggles with disordered eating and anxiety concerns and I am comfortable working with and am an advocate for informed, compassionate care for this population. My Personal Beliefs and Interests I'm a psychologist and certified alcohol and drug counselor. I have a background in research (on behavior change) and loved working in academia for a long time, before transitioning to working in community mental health for a few years. I love being a therapist. I am also a mother and an immigrant with strong progressive values and I bring that to the table as well. Meghann Reis, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Reis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Colorado and earned a Master of Science and a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in Oregon. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Counseling Center at University of Washington and her post-doctoral residency at the Counseling Service at Vassar College. She has also completed ongoing advanced training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and Gestalt Therapy. In her clinical practice, Dr. Reis specializes in working with clients who present with cultural or sexual identity development concerns and experiences of surviving power-based personal violence. Accordingly, she approaches her research and clinical work with an attachment-based developmental framework and multicultural and social justice lens. Dr. Reis has a strong interest in advancing research on humanistic, dynamic, and other non-manualized therapies.

As a black, brown, and queer woman, my identities inform my work and the way I show up for my clients and community. My desire is for you to feel empowered to be your authentic self and transform your relationship with sex and sexuality into a positive one.
