Trauma Healing takes time and patience, and for a lot of us with Complex Trauma, this may be something we continually manage as life ebbs and flows. However, it doesn’t have to be a life-long pattern of pain and feeling constantly dysregulated. I invite you to feel within that fear/ anxiety/ dysregulation and make meaning from it. I support folx to heal deep emotional wounds that come from past anxiety, trauma, stress and help them hone-in on their inner experience as a means to gain insight. I offer individual sessions in person and via telehealth (please inquire about current COVID protocols and if in-person sessions are currently being held). My general goal for folx is to help them identify what they need so that they are able to continue on their healing journey, eventually, without my support. I do this by helping you to cultivate self-awareness and expose you to a variety of coping skills. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, anti-fascist, and inclusive in my approach.
“The path isn’t a straight line; it’s a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths.” ~ Barry H. Gillespie My approach is holistic, somatic, compassionate, and collaborative. Somatic psychotherapy allows you to get to the root of your concerns. While traditional talk therapy can be helpful, therapists and healers are realizing the importance of including the body into the therapy process. By blending somatic practices based in the Hatha yoga tradition, you will come to a better understanding of how to regulate your nervous system, and therefore find relief, ease, and strength. As a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I am deeply passionate about working with clients who are a part of the community. My specialties include: addiction, trauma/C-PTSD, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, ecological despair/anxiety, religious trauma, Women’s issues, HSP (highly sensitive persons), and bipolar/borderline. I also offer outdoor ecotherapy as a way to deeper connect to yourself and the natural world.

Children, teenagers, and young adults are more overwhelmed today than ever. The daily challenges they face can be highly stressful and can lead to significant impairments in self-esteem, family relationships, school functioning, friendships, and other important areas of life. My ultimate goals as a therapist are to help young people find good life balance and develop a sense of peace within themselves. I enjoy providing a space where individuals and families can safely work through difficult situations, while learning to feel good about themselves, acquire problem-solving skills, maximize their natural strengths, and utilize the supports they have in their lives.
At The Better You Institute, we work with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, even when things seem fine on the outside. Maybe you’re juggling academic pressures, relationships, family expectations, identity questions, or feelings of anxiety and burnout. You might feel like you’re doing “all the right things” but still feel lost, unsure, or like you’re falling short. That’s where we come in. We create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, reflect, and make sense of what’s really going on beneath the surface. Together, we help you explore patterns that might be keeping you stuck—whether that’s perfectionism, people-pleasing, shutting down when stressed, or struggling to communicate your needs. Our therapists guide you in building healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and connecting so you can navigate life’s challenges with more clarity and confidence. Where you feel like you're in the driver seat, not everything else. We affirm and support all identities, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodiversety. If you’re ready for therapy that helps you feel more grounded, connected, and true to yourself, we’re here to walk alongside you. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
