Do you feel weighed down by grief and sadness? Are you feeling disconnected from yourself, your surroundings, or your relationships? Anxiety and depression can be like a thick fog that seems impossible to lift. My goal is to help guide you through that fog and find relief from emotional pain. I offer a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that acknowledges and respects your emotional journey. My area of expertise is providing support to persons struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, and family conflict. I have been working with adults, children, and families to help them navigate traumatic experiences in the social work field for the past seven years. Together, we will work on developing a more compassionate inner dialogue, and healthier coping mechanisms that will help you live more authentically. I commend you on taking the first steps toward healing, and I am here to support you.

Therapy is a space that allows you to identify what is getting in your way and learn how to move towards where you want to be. I focus on helping you build insight around your experiences so you can identify what changes can be made as well as what skill building can be done to create the outcomes you are looking for. I work with people who have symptoms from anxiety, depression, trauma or addiction by using a person centered approach that both validates your experience and supports you in the change you are working towards.

After starting a career in higher education, I realized that I wanted more opportunities to spend time with students 1:1 and support them through all of the life changes that occur throughout college: deciding on a major, finding new friends, separating from family, changing majors, figuring out how to adult, starting a career, excelling in classes that only become more rigorous, and maybe changing majors again. All of this in addition to finding time for yourself becomes quite difficult! As a psychotherapist, I work with students experiencing depression and anxiety as they navigate the challenges and stressors that come with being in college. Many have also had difficult or traumatic experiences while growing up, and are ready to figure out how to talk about them. Through weekly appointments, we'll build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, and quickly develop an understanding of your goals for therapy. For some, this will mean our work together is brief. For others, we'll settle into a long-term working relationship that will see you through the ups and downs over the next few years. I primarily use a psychodynamic approach in therapy, which means we'll explore your inner thoughts and feelings to understand how they affect your behaviors and relationships. I find that this approach helps you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, including how you might get in your own way from time to time and what you might want to do differently. Always, the goal is to support you as you (re)discover your strengths and learn to accept yourself as human, making both life and college a little easier to navigate moving forward. Please note: I'm licensed to see individuals in Florida, Illinois, and Michigan.

I work with young women and LGBTQ+ folks with anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing tendencies. You set goals for yourself that aren’t reachable, and you feel like you’re failing, though from the outside it may look like you have it together. You know that the patterns in your life aren’t working, yet it’s hard to identify what to change and make those changes on your own. It’s a big step to even recognize that you might benefit from therapy. Therapy can help you make those changes so that you can relate differently to yourself, your loved ones, and the stress & loss in your life. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Together, we can untangle old narratives, identify the things that aren’t working in your life, and develop new coping methods that work for you. Therapy depends on us developing a safe relationship from which we can explore your feelings and concerns. In our therapy sessions, you can expect compassion as well as a focus on practical skills on how to relate differently to the stress and loss in your life. I prioritize developing a safe relationship between the two of us in therapy, from which we discuss your relationships with yourself and with others. My practice is antiracist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and HAES informed. I have immediate openings for teletherapy and in-person therapy. In addition to my regular hours (8am-5pm), I can offer evening appointments upon request. You can schedule a free 15-minute video consultation at my website, sierralarsontherapy.com.

Hello and welcome! I’m Casey. Taking the first steps toward healing can be overwhelming, but you do not have to walk this path alone. Counseling is a collaborative relationship between you and the counselor. I strive to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to explore yourself, your goals, and your strengths. I have worked with those experiencing a variety of issues including anxiety, ADHD, depression, professionals and caretakers experiencing burnout and compassion fatigue, trauma, relationship issues, grief, including companion pets, and other issues such as career and life transitions. With experience at Eastern Michigan University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, I have also supported college students through mental health concerns and the unique transitions of college life. I will help you build awareness and perspective into your experiences, thoughts, and feelings by helping you identify your values and what is important to you. Together we will explore new ways you can relate to your thoughts and feelings so that you can navigate life’s challenges and improve your overall quality of life. I believe that therapy fosters self-discovery and empowerment at any age. I am dedicated to helping you gain insight, build resilience, and enhance your overall quality of life, and welcome those facing career transitions, life changes, or seeking mental health support. My journey has been a ride so far. I have experienced life's awe inspiring highs, and life's darkest of lows. It is through it all, through the elations of life and through its sorrow, I have learned so much. I have learned that matters of the heart can be so hard, so hurtful, and at times make life seem unfair. However I have also learned that no matter our standing in life, there is something that is universal to the human experience, and that is we are hard wired for connection. At our core we long for connection, we want to be heard, validated, and loved. My journey thus far has made me a better person, a better husband, a better father, and a better therapist. I love woodworking, I also love BBQ'ing or smoking meat in a real old school smoker, using real wood! I also love learning, love reading, and I love to write. I have been married to my best friend for going on 26 years! We have two daughters, 18 and 24. I love the University of Michigan, The Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Redwings!

Whether it's a relationship, stress at work, feeling sad, overwhelmed, worried or depressed, we recognize there is a difference between where we are and where we want to be. Therapy provides a safe space for you to ask questions, gain a greater understanding and work towards becoming a better version of yourself.
