I believe in empowering individuals to take control of their health. I have a deep belief in the ability for you to overcome difficulties. As a therapist, I believe, you are the expert in your experience and it is my role to provide a safe, understanding, and non-judgemental space for you to heal, grow, and move into a new way of being and feeling. But that doesn’t mean you have to figure everything out on your own–we will work together. I am here to support you in your healing journey. Collaboratively, we will set goals on both what you want to achieve and things that you want to rid from your life. Burying or ignoring our pain may feel like the only way we can move past them. In reality, painful things that happen to us can continue to impact our ability to maintain and develop healthy relationships, as well as our overall physical and mental health. Difficult circumstances may even alter the way we view ourselves and the world around us; making us seem like we aren’t “worthy” or a “good person.” I am here to help you regain the sense of who you want to be in the world and to free yourself of negative views of yourself. You are meant to thrive and I am here to support you until you get to where you want to be. Maybe you don’t know what you want to do with your life at this point. Perhaps a relationship has gone sour, you found out that the degree you received or the job you have is not what you want. Therapy can help you figure out your next steps and change the path you have been on. I have experience working with both men and women of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. In addition, I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and childhood trauma. I have a great deal of passion for working with people who want to boost their self-esteem. I have a great deal of knowledge on how to help resolve intimacy issues in relationships and also with one’s self. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression. I have a strong conviction to help serve the LGBTQ+ community as well as experience and resources.

Therapy is the ultimate form of self care. It can lead to radical self-acceptance, allowing you to manifest the positive goals you have for your life. Seeking therapy traditionally has had barriers, and I know breaking those barriers will create a better, more accessible, revolutionary, and empathic society. My clinical interests include working with LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, domestic violence, and times of adjustment and change. I come from person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-focused modalities. I utilize an eclectic approach in our sessions, as each client is different. I believe in a therapeutic relationship that is equal and balanced. Our goals will be mutual and dynamic. You are an expert in your life, and I look forward to working together to create the healthy and positive change you see for yourself.

My hope is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where all parts of you are welcome. College is a time of big changes, and it’s normal to feel stressed, anxious, or unsure about how to handle everything. I offer a space where you can talk openly about what’s going on, whether it’s academic pressure, relationships, or figuring out your next steps. I use a variety of approaches based on your needs, with a focus on Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic work, and EMDR. I utilize these methods because they support the whole mind-body connection, allowing history that has been stored in the nervous system to be released. Together we can help make sense of the pieces of your life that have become overwhelming and give you tools to handle life with more confidence.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. I know how difficult it can be to take that first step in seeking therapy, and I want to make that process as smooth and welcoming as possible. It’s my mission to create a safe, supportive space where we can work together toward your personal goals. I aim to be your biggest cheerleader, while also providing gentle challenges that encourage growth. You’ll find our sessions to be warm, authentic, and comfortable, as I believe that’s the key to building a strong therapeutic relationship. I specialize in supporting children (10+) and young adults, particularly those navigating anxiety, ADHD, grief, depression, and life transitions. I have training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and often integrate play therapy techniques to make our sessions both engaging and effective. I offer the flexibility to meet either in person at our Allendale office or virtually from the comfort of your home, no matter where you’re at in Michigan. If you have any questions or would like to explore if we'd be a good fit, don't hesitate to reach out via email. I'd love to connect and help you (or your child) take the next step in your journey!

I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, understood, and accepted—exactly as you are. You might find yourself feeling constantly anxious or on edge, caught up in worries that never seem to quiet down. Maybe you’re often hard on yourself, struggling with self-doubt or guilt, or noticing that it’s hard to feel joy or motivation the way you used to. When life starts to feel like this, it can be difficult to see a way forward or imagine things feeling different. My approach is person-centered, meaning our work is guided by your needs, your pace, and what feels most meaningful to you. I enjoy working with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and the lasting impact of complex trauma. In our work together, I may draw from compassion-focused and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you understand yourself better, and adjust the beliefs you hold about yourself, others, and the world. Through this process, we’ll work toward cultivating more enjoyment, confidence, and self-compassion in your everyday life.

Therapy isn’t just about getting through hard times, it’s an opportunity for you to reconnect with your own inner strength and move toward a life that feels more meaningful, grounded, and embodied. You might feel overwhelmed, stuck in a major life change, overthinking, or just tired of pretending you're okay. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. Much of my work with clients involve exploring your thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences to deepen self awareness and support lasting change.

Do you find yourself frequently overwhelmed by negative emotions or trapped in an ever-repeating cycle? You are not alone. Thoreau said, "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." It does not have to stay this way. There is hope. Many times, the first step to changing your life is to say things out loud to someone you trust. I am committed to creating a safe place for you to be real with no fear of judgment. It would be my honor to come alongside you as we work through the things that have kept you stuck for too long. I hold a Master of Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master of Theological Studies from Urshan Graduate School of Theology. My experience in private practice has equipped me with knowledge and has also strengthened my hope in evidence-based counseling processes. My education also uniquely positions me to offer Biblical/Christian counseling if requested. Please reach out if you are struggling. I want to assure you that you MATTER, and your mental health is worth investing in!
